Most obscure was RP Alex Claudio.

Yes, his delivery is glitched. It's similar to the glitched delivery of Michael Fulmer a few years ago. I imagine it will get patched soon if enough Bug Reports are submitted.

500 with Nelson Cruz off of the Nike Billboard in LF.

I like him from what I've used him in the past day or two. The missions aren't too bad at all after the first 2 levels.

@rizzledizzle14 said in Fourth Inning Showdown easy?:

I didn't draft the greatest team but tried to load up on lefties since I knew Felix was looming.
I think I passed 9/12 (failed a few pitching ones--blew a save & gave up a hit). It was like 11-15 going into the Felix showdown.
He carved me up the first five or six batters---struck out three of the first four and walked a guy.
Suddenly the 2nd time through the order everything clicked and I mashed four straight HR's to win (Jose Ramirez, Ellsbury, Justin Smoak, Robby Cano)

Was it the gold veteran cano? That card rocks.

    Yes it was!

Replaying the map will not give you any extra rewards. The only exception is to re-do the USA map any take every territory. That will give you the bundle of packs....but that's it.

I've used Eddie Mathews since the beginning of the game and he's stuck in my lineup. But Moncada and Torres are very good. The Alec Bohm from the event reward looks good too, but I haven't used him as much. Brooks Robinson has been decent in the limited at bats I've given him too, though he's not going to hit for much power--more vision, contact, and defense.

  • Guess I really do hate pitching moments lol
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

That's crazy! I just did Eck's as my third choice. His are a bit annoying, but I thought the Bob Gibson ones were rougher! And I haven't finished all of Corbin's either! Good luck!

The Cardinals one was challenging for sure--6 hits, 2 XBH in two games. Took me an hour or so and numerous attempts. I eventually got to where I would quit if I didn't get 3 hits in the first game. I used power swing in early innings to try and get a quick XBH, but then normal swing later on. Sometimes I did nothing but power swing, but that didn't work out too well.

When I finally accomplished it, I ended up getting lucky and going 6-7 in a high-scoring first game, and then power-swinging in the first AB of the second game for a double to get the mission.

SF wasn't as bad, but it isn't easy either. Cueto's changeup resulted in lots of weak grounders to third.

  • Showdown tips from a DS player
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

These are a lot of good tips.

Definitely take power over contact. Even common Chris Davis can carry a squad over higher rated contact hitter.
Avoid low pitches. Only swing at meatballs unless you're in a 2-strike count.

Adjust your lineup and perks according to the next challenge, especially if you know which pitcher you'll face. Load up your lineup with lefties if you're going up against a RHP, and vice versa.

Also, if you're able to figure out who the final boss will be, always draft your players with the final boss in mind. When the AL East Showdown says "vs. Blue Jays," I know it's probably Ken Giles so I'll load up on lefties. If it's "vs Milwaukee," you know it's probably Hader, so get those good righties with your best picks.

  • Does anyone here collect baseball cards?
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

I recently started collecting again over the past year or so. It's still as enjoyable as I remember! There are a ton of releases now---I typically stick to retail stores like Wal-Mart or Target, but there are tons of more pricey releases online or at hobby shops.

  • Third inning showdown
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

I think I had Sutter for the first boss and Kyle Wright for the second one. I had to get a few clutch hits to get past Sutter with a team that had passed every challenge up to his point, but by the time I got to Wright I didn't need many runs so he was easy.

  • Curious showdown Survey
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

Showdown is a great addition to me. I feel like it plays at the correct level. There's definitely a strategy to building your squad and perks. It's one of my favorite parts of the game, actually.

I haven't noticed insane defense or anything out of the ordinary---maybe I just don't "get it."
I haven't tried any Stage 2 showdowns, but I've done the 1st, 2nd, 3rd inning and a few of the team affinity ones.

  • Al Kaline home runs

I found success waiting for the big hanging curves (Wainwright), and then went opposite field in Game 7. Playing at Polo really helps with those shots down the line.

  • Which SP have the fastest and slowest deliveries?
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

In the past Strasburg and Darvish were both super fast because they exclusively pitch from the stretch. Clay Buchholz used to be that way too---not sure if they are still that way though.

  • That deleter song
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

It's actually all over Alternative stations right now--it's been #1 on the SiriusXM weekly alternative countdown show & Grouplove performed it on Jimmy Kimmel/Fallon (one of the two) just a few days ago. I think there's a way to take it off of your soundtrack if you don't like it.

  • I.... actually enjoy showdown
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

I've been enjoying it as well. The starter and 1st inning showdown were pretty cool. I've only tried the AL East Showdown so far, but I was able to knock it out on the second attempt after getting owned by Sale on my first attempt. It's a good idea and an interesting way to build your lineup and perks!

  • Quick windups
  • rizzledizzle14R rizzledizzle14

In the past Clay Buchholz was one---I think he's a Free Agent. I pitched with Yhonny Chirinos of Tampa Bay in the AL East Showdown earlier tonight and I think he was a quick one too.
