Can confirm 120 hz does work for online play on PS5! It seems it was likely just a match matching bug like originally stated.

Not sure if it’s some glitch or if SDS is purposely blocking 120 hz for online play on ps5. It would be terrible if it’s the latter seeing that people on the series x and s have been able to play with 120 hz mode on since mlb 21. How can Sony allow its own game to run better on an opposing console? ‍️

Turn off 120 hz and you should be able to play on 4k. Again, it could be that your monitor can’t output 4k at 120 hz so it changes the resolution to 1080p to accommodate 120 hz.

Check if you got 120 hz mode on automatic.
