    I intentionally spoke and outlined that the participants in the zero-sum game were the player’s potential activities, not other players. You wanting to frame the discussion to ignore that doesn’t make me unaware of what a zero-sum game is. It’s just disingenuous [censored] because you don’t want to admit that SDS removed the value for time spent for a lot of players because you almost certainly didn’t spend the time yourself and you don’t care if SDS screws over others to benefit yourself.

    I’m not really going to reply to any of these issues going forward though. We’re on three straight years of SDS drastically overhauling the content/design and as of two weeks ago, four straight years of SDS abandoning their intended content/design mid-cycle because of how bad their metrics are doing.

    At this point, people who show up on the forums to defend their decision-making are just a lost cause. It’s incredibly clear that SDS has no confidence in what they’re doing. None. Yet magically, someone like you does.

    I look forward to seeing how they screw up 26’s content/design overhaul.

    Maybe then they’ll realize relying primarily on the feedback of less than 30 people, an incredibly homogenous group of content creators, will continue to result in the same problem over and over again. They’ll do something that appeals to that group, while completely ignoring how it impacts people that aren’t in it and then have to abandon the design/content once that impact to other people becomes obvious.

    I won’t hold my breath as them figuring that out is as likely as you waking up and developing critical thinking skills tomorrow.

    Have a nice day.

    It is a zero-sum game. People don’t have endless time to play video games. It is finite. Literally, in every sense. That is a zero-sum game. They only have 24 hours in a day and they can only spend so much of it playing. They have to allocate whatever time they have and they don’t always get to allocate it to what they enjoy the most because they want the reward. Two people allocate their time differently, one following the instructions and another completely ignoring them, and then SDS feeling bad and pretending it didn’t matter as if they aren’t just completely screwing over the one following the instructions is inherently wrong.

    I provided an example of an actual equitable way to fix their mistakes, instead of what they did, which is make the people who followed the instructions have to grind twice to end up in the same place. It’s not like there was no other option to SDS. There was. They just don’t care and happily screw people over, every single year.

    I’m not even replying because this impacted me negatively. It didn’t. I had all 30 finest vouchers two weeks ago. I will have all 30 programs at 100% before finest even drops. My game history is easily viewable to all of us and it’s quite clear this has basically no impact on me because I play this game as much as anyone.

    But it’s incredibly annoying for people that don’t have the ability to play this game endlessly and actually did the tasks because that’s what they were told to do to get the reward.

    Your reply is just indicative of someone with absolutely no ability to feel empathy for others.

    If the difference between you and someone who went 50x flawless in 24, consistently makes WS, and consistently goes to the top of the event leaderboard is the ballpark that you’re playing in, you should probably switch ballparks already.

    It’s not really “[going] crazy” — it’s just that some of us are able to do things like hit HRs with Arraez and Siri to progress through programs.

    Not in prior years (or at least none that you’d possibly hit as you could have thousands and thousands). This year, I’ve gotten to about 600 at one point without issue but it’s not exactly something to easily test.

    Do you have any pitchers that were upgraded to golds on your squad?

    Easiest way to fix this is finding which player is the issue but you should also be able to just go to generate best line up and re-do everything.

    Because it punishes people that prioritized grinding it in order to ensure people that didn’t can still get the same rewards, as it doesn’t give any of the people that prioritized grinding it anything for actually spending the time.

    If SDS says this is what you have to do, you do it, and then SDS gives the cards to everyone else too anyway, it is an L. As I said in my reply, a competent company would have given those people that did it something for actually doing it (like my suggestion of removing any grind to get the Color Storm cards). Instead, they just screw over the people that actually listened.

    By default, they carryover to a new season unless it explicitly states it must be done in one season. The 75 HRs and 100 hits missions’ progress both carryover.

    It is in their game history. 0-0 after 1st inning. With Joneser batting, the 2nd inning only records walk -> game over and Joneser wins.

    I don’t care if people view it as a positive or a negative as I just view it as yet another example of failure by SDS. It’s a clear admission that their original design decisions of My Journey were never going to align with most people’s playing habits. They knew it was hard as they intentionally made it ridiculously long, only to now back away from it once the potential consequences of it being hard were becoming apparent. And people that it helps will give them credit and be positive when it really should just result in asking, “Why does this stuff keep happening every year? How many times do the content/design teams get to make the same mistakes, not learn from them, and keep getting to do their jobs?”

    FYI, SDS, you should have put a collection for 40,000 points in the Color Storm programs where anyone that actually did the long grinds could collect the AS voucher for the 40,000. You’re letting everyone else fast track to catch up while giving absolutely no reward to the people that actually did the grind that you told us we’d have to do.

    And that’s always the problem with you guys desperately trying to fix your mistakes. You never make everyone right. You always screw one group over.

    @SDS_JoeK_PSN

    What I got out of this is that me pointing out that you could collect both ensured SDS would get flooded with support tickets asking for the swap and that wasn’t SDS’s intention.

    Just like I pointed out the mass rating tanking that would occur for Weekend Classic all the way back on March 12 (https://forums.theshow.com/post/687968).

    Perhaps SDS should actually communicate with the people that actually play your game regularly instead of just constantly emailing back & forth with content creators and they could then proactively address things instead of constantly end up scrambling to fix mistakes. But then again, maybe content creators that make people laugh by talking about their [censored] are just giving that valuable of feedback. I suppose it’s possible.

    I guess I will get back to reporting players for boosting BR that you guys will ignore because I’m not a content creator and a content creator’s email is important, but enforcing your rules on people that have boosted 59 flawless rewards isn’t.

    No, they aren’t. The chase cards cycle in rhythm with Weekend Classic. The week before and then the day WC starts, they’ll peak with hyper meta cards. The weeks outside of that will be down weeks so people like you post exactly what you just posted to try to obscure the explicit optimization of monetization they’re going for.

    Ortiz’s 88 is a primary position 1B, he just sucks there (41 fielding, 37 reaction).

    Same with Howard’s 87, also 1B.

    @JTevalt_MLBTS

    Assuming your XBL is also JTevalt, I cannot find any games consistent with what you described in your game history to specifically address those games. If you told me the opponent’s name as it shows in game history, I could try to speak specifically to them.

    In general, if you bring a RP/CP in during a save situation/opportunity (excluding 3 IP+ saves) and record at least 1 out with the RP/CP before they quit, you get credit for the save.

    For 3 IP+ saves, I believe it will trigger if they aren’t the winning pitcher, they’ve pitched 3 IP or more in relief, and record the last out before the opponent quits. I’m not 100% sure though since I haven’t used openers/bulk pitcher combinations in 25.

    @trfatboy22_MLBTS

    There is no point to discussing any of that. You’re not evaluating the game mechanic for what it is. You’re just trying to find some way to ignore the obvious, that it’s a game mechanic that SDS invented where what it says happened and results the user gets are disconnected. This is why 99.999999% of the discussions on here about gameplay are useless. You want a game that plays like X and so you find any way to convince yourself any part of the game that resembles X is good even when that part of the game is a complete mess that turns people off from playing the game. The mechanic inherently triggers excitement and then frustration/anger because it tells the user they’ve been perfect when they don’t get results that resemble being perfect.

    Hard hits and perfect swings are not synonymous in this game. Using real life hard hits to justify perfect swings not being HRs is complete nonsense. Hard hits are not synonymous with a perfect swing. Perfect swings aren’t actually a thing. It is purely a make-believe video game mechanic which actively sabotages the player’s playing experience.

    Trying to talk about anything other than, “Why would SDS think it’s a good idea to intentionally mislead the user?” is just you misdirecting because you cannot actually stay on topic because the game mechanic is just terribly designed and terribly executed. We don’t need to talk about what pitch was thrown. That’s wholly irrelevant to the topic. That’s just complete misdirection.

    Literally, as I read your comment, I hit a 93 mph line drive on a perfect swing. (People say “perfect-perfect” because of the animation saying “perfect” twice. A perfect swing requires both timing and PCI to be correct. If only one is correct, they don’t get called “perfect.” The PCI is just labelled 15 or the timing is labelled good, but “perfect” label only applies to both qualifying. “Perfect-perfect” isn’t actually a thing outside of the animation.)
