    This, honestly they’re not going to give out a 100k stub card as a make good here. If they did, it’d be as a non sellable version, but even that would crash the market for the card likely.

    I think realistically, we could maybe hope for some of the mini season vouchers for the playoff programs. Essentially give some time back that way toward program completions for the playoffs to remove some time grind for cards that are ultimately non sellable to begin with. If they wanted to give timed progress elsewhere they could maybe give a Sept Monthly Award mini season pack too?

    I think those kinds of things and maybe stubs or show packs are all you’re going to see. But ultimately I’d just like to see a realistic time line, ownership of what the problem is, and get servers back up and functional. I’d rather actually get to use the game than get some cheap make goods, not that it wouldn’t be appreciated.

    It sounds like a hardware failure. Whether it's on the Sony side, Nintendo side, or in between, who knows? But if it is, they may have to wait for new hardware to be delivered and installed. Since there were initial problems with some of the XBoxes when this happened, my guess is it's in between. They were able to get the XBox back up fairly quickly (and it was only some because my XBox service never went down), but interfacing with the Nintendo side may be a different story - especially if Nintendo has never dealt with this issue (whatever it may be) before.

    I just checked my Switch, and the server is still down for Nintendo service. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved soon.

    If it is a hardware failure, the least they could do is give us an update saying that and maybe there’d be more understanding as to why it’s taking longer. Instead, we are left in the dark and the Friday night update was nearly word for word identical to the first update Wednesday afternoon. Instead we are just left to wonder and no Saturday update leading to widespread speculation that they aren’t even working on it over the weekend which makes it look even worse for them.

    I'm waiting to see how many of these Switch owners who are desperate to play actually go to Costco and get a PS5 or XBox X...

    I'm waiting to see how many non-switch players show some actual empathy for us who can't play right now. If the situation was reversed I'd bet you'd be upset too. People on the internet nowadays mostly suck, they have no experience with real people.

    I am a Switch owner. But I am not bothered by the outage because I have other consoles I can play on.

    Or some of us have the other console too, but since I mostly play on the switch while my kid is going to sleep at night and then on the couch while watching TV with my wife, the other console side is usually later at night. So it is a convenience factor as well.

    CBrev, is there any rough ETA we are dealing with. Is this a 24 hour issue or one week more issue? Would be nice if we could get a bit of communication around more specifics after nearly 5 1/2 days.
