DD is an online focused mode.

If SDS agrees with you they are going to lose a huge chuck of their player base.

It is? For me it's going to play other games.

I used to be a competitive bowler. I carried a 200 average, bowled collegiately, multiple leagues and tournaments each month. You know what I didn't do? Go over to the 80 average bowlers on the lane next to me just playing to have fun, and tell them "you guys are weak". That's what maturity looks like.

Yeah. The amount of XP needed is kind of irrelevant. It is the opportunities to earn that XP that is more important

This^^^. The XP needed for a boss should be around the same that you get for going through all offline content in the inning ONCE.

Guys just block the "online" troll, he's got nothing better to do than harrass people from mommie's basement while he eats his 8th bag of skittles and drinks his 28th mountain dew bought from mommie's SNAP benefits.

They are very actively pushing casual single player DD players away, which is insane, since that is most of the DD player base. Still no repeatable for packs conquest. Requiring playing on All-Star for the reward card in Mini-Seasons.

I actually liked the 11 All-Star wins mission. I went 11 - 5 to do it, switched back to Rookie and finished the season. No other reason to play that mini-season so back to repeating WBC over and over for 5 Ballin packs...now bored with that as well.

Just finished my I-don't-know-"th" time through WBC mini-seasons. TA's are all done through the first level of Jolts (the rest are all 100 TB grinds). Every offline program is done. I'm around halfway to 500k and have no desire to keep repeating the existing content. "CoNtEnT iSnT tHe PrObLeM" folks, how did you get to the 500k without mind-numbing repeated content? I'm pretty much heading over to other games at this point. Will I return on 5/1 to finish that content in 2 hours? Not sure, but this is by far the earliest in the history of MLB the Show I've felt the "I'm done with the game" feeling.

  • Mini-season pitcher preview not accurate.
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

On top of the team icons being wrong all year so far, now the pitcher previews are wrong and I'm getting completely different pitchers nearly every time. I don't understand why mini-seasons is a buggy mess right now when it wasn't like this at all last year. Can anyone confirm if a complete restart is needed to clear this up?

I'll rarely touch conquest because it feels...off? It plays entirely different from other modes. I grind offline primarily for the XP path.

Yeah Conquest has been different for a few years now. I don't have any evidence to back it up but I think what happened is they changed Conquest from the "casual" setting to "simulation" which plays a lot more brutally. Mini seasons and versus CPU are on the "casual" setting so you can hit HRs with guys even in the 60s in power. In Conquest it seems like the only way to get a HR is with a 100+ power guy, a perfect/perfect pull shot. Everything else dies at the warning track.

  • Why are rookie and veteran so hard this year?!
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

@markemark_NSW Don't restart after finishing a season. Back out completely then start a new season from the Mini-seasons selection screen (should show 3),then it should give you a popup asking if you want 3 innings or 9.

  • Why are rookie and veteran so hard this year?!
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

@markemark_NSW if you struggle with hitting (and it's not tv settings) my biggest advice would be to stay away from Conquest and look to mini-seasons/vs cpu for the stat hunting. If you absolutely have to play a Conquest (for rewards) do it with the best squad you can field and expect a lot of 1 - 0 games. Play small ball, steal a lot, don't expect HRs. Also make sure your global settings are set to "casual" and "rookie". Those settings affect affect mini-seasons/vs. cpu and I think RTTS, but do not change Conquest games at all (which are set at "simulation").

    Oh and, GO ANGELS!

  • Has RTTS taken a step in the wrong direction?
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

However one thing I absolutely hate about RTTS this year is the strike zone...balls barely touching the frame of the zone called strikes (only in this mode) my strikeouts hitting have gone way up (probably more realistic?)

  • Why does hitting feel different this year.
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

I think it depends on the mode. In RTTS I like that it's a little harder, I was always hitting in the 400s last year. Conquest is absolute misery being on the "simulation" setting regardless of your personal settings, pretty much every game comes down to sac flies in extras. Mini-seasons/vs CPU is still fun, but a little harder than last year since every pitcher paints the zone most of the time. Can't speak to online play I've only played once last year and got rocked like 20 - 2.

  • Has RTTS taken a step in the wrong direction?
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

I'm liking it so far. I'm playing 3 players; a RF, a 2B, and a 2-way CP/1B. Last year seemed too fast honestly, I was an 89 by year #2 in the pros on my 3B, leading the league in HRs, and was RotY in year #1. My RF got pulled into the Pros too early in this one I feel and is sucking hard as a 69 overall, which is expected. Yeah my 2-way is crawling, I thought I'd be getting more tokens as I go along since I'm put as a CP without being used in multiple games at a time. But I'm having fun with all 3 characters but the 2-way may end up given up on.

  • What happened to offline content?
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

That's comparing apples and oranges. Yes Rookie is harder this year, so less Ks per game for pitching and less runs scored overall in Rookie games. But that doesnt make the complete lack of length or depth of offline content any better. They aren't appeasing anyone, all they are going to see is a falloff of player count as the year progresses due to nothing to do, and less renewals next year as it feels like the MLB the Show franchise is on a severe down trend.

  • What happened to offline content?
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

I don't understand why they don't have staggered TA content like in the past. I keep reading what is there now is all there is for the year, hoping that is false but I've read it in several threads already. I know they got rid of MtO because I guess I was the only one playing it, but why not do a TA/mini-season combo where you have to win a season with an single franchise team or something similar? I love missions where I have to make a roster work with limited or underdog cards.

  • is everyone else's menu laggy for days?
  • Precisionist99_XBLP Precisionist99_XBL

The "Play" menu constantly lags for me and pretty much the first time I try to go into a single player mode the game locks up. Restart but then I'm fine but feels like a stupid bug they should have fixed weeks ago.

I dont know if you'd really be encouraged to play more if Rookie were way easier. You need to figure out how to deal with the "shenanigans" if you're going to be able to play this game. Batting in The Show is way harder than anything in any other sports game - that's what it comes down to.

I always found the hardest thing in a sports game is being able to switch to a DB then get an INT in Madden. For some reason I just could not get the hang of it or get the timing down. I could do it in first person mode when playing the own character mode (forgot what it was called) but top down I would always end up jumping the wrong direction.

I appreciate your input! How do you know if the TV is no longer in game mode? And how can it be fixed? I’m using a Roku.

It will be on your tv settings. I'm not sure how a Roku works with a game. On my Vizio I open my tv menu and find display settings, it's there mixed in with "bright" "sports" and other display options. Most modern tv's should have a game mode somewhere in their options. I'd imagine even some of the newer ones do it automatically now. It's comical on some tv's when it's off, like literaly the split second you see the ball leave the pitchers hand it's already in the glove.

I’ve posted this before, but I’ll repeat: The Show does not “understand” Rookie mode at all. I play Madden, they dont do a lot of things right, but they “get” Rookie mode.

On Rookie madden, you score SO many points that you gain confidence and actually WANT to play on a higher level to challenge yourself.

In Rookie The Show, all the same “shenanigans” exist except for slightly slower pitch speeds. Pitchers dot and fielders are good glovers all the time. So, you are NOT encouraged to move up except that you HAVE TO in order to get XP and PXP to get rewards.

    A big difference.

As someone that's played both, you nailed it.
