I’m having the same problem osattack. My card says secondary but he still drops everything. I’ve tried different types to try to find the gold catcher loadout but I just keep getting third and short
Based on what i've seen on other forums and reddit i don"t think even the one that has catcher primary at bronze keeps it at silver, gold and diamond levels.

Ballplayer is completely broken right now. I can't even get any progress, like it's just not counting. Which is extremely frustrating. But I'm also having the same problem with an archetype in DD where C is a secondary position but it's showing like he's a 3B with no secondary. So even though I have 80+ blocking my guy drops everything low/ low and away and anything too low instead of blocking it's automatically to the backstop. It's ridiculous, hopefully they fix it soon so the game is actually worth playing but right now it's a shitshow frankly. The servers are just garbage on top of everything else.
if your trying to get program stats to work you can try switching to dynamic difficulty for a few games then switching back. That worked for me

I've got my ballplayer to diamond slugger load-out. He is a catcher in rtts but his actual card is a 3b in dd his card doesn't have catcher secondary on his card but if you search by catcher secondary in the menu he comes up and has the overlay that says secondary position. Once in game he plays like he is out of position and gets all the bad animations. Any way to fix this?
Double check make sure you have catcher Architype equipped.
Thats not the problem though if i equip the catcher primary archtype I lose the diamond slugger stats that say secondary catcher. I would have to redo all the missions for the catcher primary
When you create a ballplayer it creates one @ every position if you choose 2 way player. Based off of what archetypes and perks you have equipped will determine if it is primary or secondary. Therefore you will get different animations for secondary positions b/c you lose 5 attribute points automatically if they are playing secondary. So you have to use perks to compensate for attribute loss.
But my catcher has 70+ defence he just can't play catcher in DD it says secondary but he just doesn't block the ball. I understand I lose stats for secondary position but he's just playing like he is not in a secondary. No Block, when he throws he does the animation you get when you are out of position and he doesn't throw the ball on steals like a normal catcher.
I don't think the problem is his stats its that it just says he isn't in a secondary
