Take the free win and quit whining.
If you're gonna complain about anything, then complain about the horrendous pitching where pitches get constantly forced over the middle of the plate.

The only small glitch is the fact that you have him already. Either you bought him for alot of stubs.... Which is not smart, but not my place to say, or you earned him through a glitch.. He was released like 30 hours ago. Either way, barely anyone has used him and the people that play regular and grind for XP don't wanna see posts about people asking about his swing already. Go watch YouTube to see what people think. Plenty of scummy content creators glitched their way to him already.
Huh?
You obviously don't know what you're talking about. I haven't spent a penny more on this game other than the game itself. I purchased him with stubs by selling Piazza and Judge + 7k stubs I already had at a purchase price of 89k stubs. After not having any success with him for a few games, I sold him back to the market at 106,850 stubs making a slight profit. With the stubs plus what I already had left over, I've replaced my catcher and RF with Rodriguez and Betts. Not that hard.
You go watch youtube. I didn't feel like watching one when I could just get a quick response from the Community.
Too bad you had to be such a grouch with your response that was unprovoked. Get some sleep and feel better.
@Onyx_Hokie_2 said in Quitters:
From my perspective, the frequency of mid-game quitting is getting ridiculous. Case in point from a few minutes ago:
Important Note - The game in question was within the current Event
Bottom of the 1st, score tied at 0, 2 outs. I hit a deep solo home run with Mike Trout, and before the ball crosses the wall my opponent quits out of the game. WTAF?!
From the point of view of wanting to do well in the Event, I don't mind the easy win. On the other hand, I didn't join the Event for the glory of accumulating wins in said Event. I joined the Event because I want to play baseball online against other human beings and I tend to expect that there will be fewer instances of cry/pout-quits when the teams are even(ish) by default. Previously, most of the quits I have experienced have been perpetrated by opponents who were overmatched at the time of the quit, either via roster differences or after I've gotten a big lead in the game.
But for Pete's sake... bottom of the 1st, after giving up a single run, with even teams?
I believe that SDS should do at least one of the following, ideally all of them:
1st instance of quitting mid-game: 30-minute ban from online play
2nd instance of quitting mid-game: 2-hour ban from online play
3rd instance of quitting mid-game: 8-hour ban from online play
4th instance of quitting mid-game: 24-hour ban from online play
Any further instances of quitting mid-game: 72-hour ban from online play
Put quitters into a separate pool of players for online play, an area populated solely by players who have quit mid-game within the past week.
Label player icons with a badge indicating their percentage of games they've quit.
In online play, after the teams have been set and shown to the players, but before a single pitch is thrown, give opponents the option to avoid playing someone with a quit percentage over a certain value.
The culture that has developed in online play for The Show - a sad exponent of our culture in general at present - enables the immediate rejection of anything which a certain type of person finds to be disappointing, not to their liking, etc. It's bad for the people whose time is wasted and it's bad for the game overall. Something needs to be done about it, in my opinion.
What do you think?
All the best,
Bryan
I would like to respectfully say that your proposal is the dumbest thing I've ever read. What are you, the Playstation Police wanting to give bans out?
I would take a 1st inning win because of an opponent quitting vs. playing the entire game, or even worse going into extra innings 100% of the time. I've never quit a game in the first inning, but I have mid or even towards the end of the game because I just rather not deal with the bullish the game dishes out sometimes.
Bottomline, people can quit if they want, and you're nobody to tell them otherwise. Facts.
Hey SDS, if you're gonna completely ignore user input and force a pitch, how about forcing the pitch on the corner for a strike instead of dead center over the middle of the plate.
It may seem subtle and not much of an improvement, but at least, there will be less of a chance for them to take it out of the park by center swinging....Geezus.

Sorry, no disrespect, but posts like this are just beyond ridiculous.
Not trying to pass judgment on you, but on the surface, it sounds like you want to report a guy because you're racking up stats and you're the one who's benefiting from the game?...sounds ridiculous right?
I've intentionally walked plenty of players, and even back-to-back batters more than a few times for strategic purposes. So you really don't know if he's intentionally allowing you to rack up stats. Maybe he just really sucks...after all, he's the one asking you for the win.
If you want to report him, I hate to know what you want to do to the guy when the role gets reversed.
Dude it wasn't even strategic he straight up wasn't playing and just letting pitches go right down the middle wasn't moving any of the fielder's or trying to get outs that's what annoyed me like [censored] I don't mind getting stays but I'm also trying to get better at the game and that doesn't help
So once you've reached level of satisfaction of boosting your stats, you then purposely strikeout to expedite the game. Although, it may be frustrating, you can't really complain for coming out with the win. Move on to the next game, and continue your attempt at getting better. Done.
Congrats to whole Dodger organization!
What a game!
That's all we ask? Who's we? I feel like you're standing alone on this one. If we had a vote on the ability to fix one thing, I don't believe the majority would choose hitting as you described.
Although getting good timing/good pci go for outs may be frustrating and a valid issue amongst some, I feel like pitch accuracy and check-swinging issues would be in the forefront of gameplay issues. At least that's what seems to be the consensus based on previous posts in this community forum.
Decided to do pickup from Denny's Restaurant on Turkey & Dressing Dinner. Don't judge me lol. Passed on big family thing due to Covid this year but still able to enjoy turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, the whole nine. Excited and feeling good because we eat this kind of meal only once a year, and I must say, it is delicious!
Well, I'm prepping to go from a joyous and thankful feeling to feelings of frustration by hopping into this RS game I'm about to begin.
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!!!

They say to be the change you want to see in the world, that’s why after every win, I personally message my opponents and tell them why they lost and how to improve. For example earlier today I said, “Good game (username). The reason you lost was because you hung sliders and your overall skill could use improvement.”
It’s a small gesture but I know it can make someone’s day, which is why I go out of my way to do it
Here's a towel to wipe off all the tomatoes that the crowd threw at you while you were on stage.
What do you mean complete all games prior to that time?
How are you suppose to complete a game if you can't even start one? LOL
It's not you, it's the game. And if things turn around, and you start hitting again,....just remember, it's not you, it's the game.
I've never played a game with more inconsistencies in gameplay than MLB The Show....pick a year...any year.
@cermixalot1 said in Stop undercutting the market:
It is my problem when a player has a value that averages 800 stubs and people drop the price to 500 within 5 sell orders.
LOL, that's hilarious.
If a card is valued at 800, and I want to drop it to 500, then you have the option to buy it at 500 and resell it for a small profit. What you perceive to be the value of a card may be different than someone else. Just remember, nobody is here to cater to your marketing needs.
If I want to buy or sell a card quickly, I'd rather put a reasonable gap between the buying/selling price, instead of playing the stupid back and forth game of undercutting the price in increments of 1 stub.
Bottom-line, it doesn't matter, because people can do what they want with their cards, it's their money, they can do what they want, and you're nobody to tell them otherwise. Facts.

By the same token, there were plenty of issues at the beginning of MLB19, that never got addressed by the end of MLB19 either.

@high-heat-27 said in So if mlb 19 was mlb the lineout:
Mlb 20 ( broken pitching) pitching is so broken and bad u can go from hitting your spots pretty good 5 or 7 innings ! Then if u give up one homer or walk and a double all of a sudden no matter where u put the ball its right down the middle! Next 3 hitters or more all in a row ! I even did a test putting the ball way out of zone, and still down the [censored]! They have momentum way to high! If confidence goes down a little u can destroy a pitcher even after pitching 1 hitter through 6 or 7 innings! Makes zero sense! This mlb has been the worst I've ever played with pitching. The amount of times u can hang change ups, cutters, splitters, curveballs are the worst pitch in this game for hangers!
Only way a pitcher is even good this year 1 u need a sinker lol its a freaking joke!! U need 99mph min!! U need control! But if u have a 3rd pitch either a really good slider or cutter thats the only way!
Honestly who does anyone trust out of starters? Bullpen?
You could've stopped typing after putting: "Mlb 20 ( broken pitching)..." lol
Baserunning only one not mentioned so far.
AI baserunners are clueless. Diving back to the bag at times when unnecessary. At times, just standing there instead of automatically advancing on balls hit to the gap or even to the wall, and instead of what should be an automatic score, he's only able to advance to 3rd base, etc.
MLB20 The Show most inconsistent gameplay ever, no doubt.
Whether you have a winning record, a .500 record or below .500 record, I think we can all relate to OP's frustration, just some more than others, I suppose.
I think we can all agree that MLB20 gameplay has been rather disappointing, and arguably one of the worst in its franchise. You would think that the gameplay would be much improved as the years go on, and progress, not regress.
Do any of you guys experience this as well?
When a ball is hit into the gap, it feels like the outfielder furthest from the ball is the default outfielder. Shouldn't it be the closest?
@GradektheBard said in SDS Knows the game is broken, that’s why they are hiring.:
