I'm a New Yorker all my life. Been playing , coaching, and watching baseball for 50 years (not a typo, I am in my 50's)..And I am a Mets fan. So I got to watch Jeter come into the league, and while I generally hated the Yankees, there were always some that I liked. Thurman Munson was my favorite Yankee (what a tragedy). And I always respected Jeter, Bernie, Mariano, Posada , Guidry, Goose, Nettles, etc....but I hated most Yankees LOL
But watching the Storylines mode in The Show 24, really opened my eyes to the kind of person Jeter is. I really respect that dude. Seriously a great player, teammate, and really an all around team player.
Yay SDS. Sunday night. Good stuff. Because we haven't spent enough on your game to keep the servers up. Maybe use the profits and get better servers? Just a thought....
So I mean, no flex but I have pretty much every high end card in the game. There are certain players whose swing I just love. LS Acuna is a beast for me for example. I don't hit that well with Reggie but I have hit well with him in previous versions of The Show. I rake with Delgado and Ruth. Can't hit with Frank Thomas , Utley, or Michael Young.....All these top rated cards and yet probably the best swing I have used is Charlie Blackmon. His Rockies City Connect program card just hits everything, and hard too.
Low key one of the best cards I have ever used. Even with a 96 OVR team.
Just crazy what the right swing can do in this game.

CPU on rookie should be grooving in way more meatballs. They've upped the NMS grind tremendously while also making hitting on rookie more frustrating. Game is much improved. This sucks, though, 100%.
i mean this with complete respect - but i just finished the conquest america on rookie primarily here - easiest thing i have done in many years - half paying attention doing emails / working counts / winning - gone are the days of conquest extreme style difficulties
I finished all the Conquests without losing a game. I'm not saying it's hard. I'm saying that CPU rookie difficulty should pitch in the fat part of the plate way more. I don't select rookie difficulty to work the count ffs.
i mean - isn't that baseball though? imagine being on rookie mode just getting meatball after meatball - what is the point of that? it would be eye watering level boring
But there are like 5 difficulty levels since it's a video game if you choose to play at a lower difficulty level then yeah it should be easier in all aspects. Just like if you want a challenge , the higher levels should be harder in all aspects
I feel this need to have every card, LS and non-LS. I dunno why, since I don't even like to use most of them....And I don't need a lot of them for the big collections. I already have Brett and I am still buying Springer, Longoria, etc. It's some OCD or compulsion or something from when I was a kid collecting real cards.
I hate that there are cards I can't get, like the silver Melancon, and Realmuto

I definitely buy packs. I help SDS' bottom line for sure. But I am anything but salty about it. I am grateful I can play a baseball game now that I can't play the real thing anymore. Truly, who is the salty one here? The guy who comments on how someone spends their money or the one that speaks up when he sees that type of judgemental post? Anyway, I am quite finished with this chat. I don't want to spend anymore time on responding to you. Not worth it. Yup Had him since he dropped. Great card. I just don't use him as much because Gary Carter is my favorite player of all time. Still, that 96 Mauer has a great swing

Honestly, I haven't kept track but probably about $600. But I also had some great early pulls. For some reason during early access, I was pulling the rare LS cards like crazy.....a few DeGroms, Acunas, 2 Trouts, a few Tatis', and like 6 Scherzers...I found that spending early on the game you can really build a stub stack. And I wasn't actually bragging or flexing. I was sharing my genuine happiness , as someone who has been a collector for years. I am in my 50's and I grew up without much $$$ so when my Dad would get me a pack of cards (back then it was pretty much Topps - then some Fleer and later on Donruss), I'd be soooo happy. Some of my best memories are sitting in the car opening a pack, pulling any Met (Mets fan, grew up in Brooklyn, NY), and sharing that awful stick of gum with my Dad... And for me to actually complete a team collection and then ultimately somehow the entire series, was huge for me. Doing it digitally now that I am providing a better situation financially for my kids, gives me a thrill. It's really not a flex. Just my joy. Don't mean to offend anyone either way. I wish you alll the ability to get every card you want, truly I do. Cheers to all who were kind with their responses and to those who weren't, it's cool. No hard feelings. Enjoy The Show and I hope you get whatever cards you want.

There was 200 LS Ohtani cards sold on the market between 7:13AM to 7:01PM (PDT) and who knows how many since the start of this game, but some how we are supposed to believe you got banned solely for selling this same exact card?

Yesterday in grinding stats I went into Play CPU , against the Orioles . I built up stats, hits, XBH, HR's, etc and the game crashed, went back to console dashboard. Got no credit for the stats.
I thought maybe it was because I was using a custom stadium but I think other people are having a similar issue....So I had to play an inning or 2 and quit over and over to get the stats to count because they didn't count at all when the game crashed out . Is this a new problem now?
@nymets1987 Ok so I was sort of frustrated that they release a turn based conquest this early but I knocked out the Toronto and AZ without a problem, on All star and Veteran.
It was actually the first All Star difficulty CPU game I played this year. It wasn't that bad. A hint - if you can do it, collect 30 cards for the S1 collection and get 89 All Star Biggio. 85 speed and 99 drag bunt. If not, get Live Series Garrett Hampson from KC with 91 speed and 96 drag bunt. Lead off with him and drag bunt and hopefully this gets you on 1st. Then sub in someone with 90+speed and stealing and take 2nd.

Might want to take a quick look at their criminal history and you'll understand why they likely arent in the game and Keith is.
I have an inside track on Keith's escapades. As far as domestic violence and Doc's use of prostitution, those are what set them apart (in that they got busted and it was public news). I love Keith, best fielding 1B I ever saw, one of the best hitting approaches I ever saw, and I've been watching , playing, and coaching baseball for 45 years. But he was no saint and his addiction, carousing, and temper was widely known back in those days. There have been illegal drug users, men who have committed domestic violence, Aroldis is in the game. Pudge has been in the game , I could go on and one with guys who committed the same offenses as Doc and Darryl. And don't think for a second that Keith just had "recreational" use of drugs/amphetamines. There are things I cannot speak of but people know......Just saying there are the same or worse offenses so it may be more than just those things keeping these 2 guys from showing up in MLB The Show

I find that if I wanna rack up XP against the CPU, I just play the Rockies with Freeland pitching. Expect pitches up in the zone and you can hammer them

I think it's the principle of the matter. It's less about how someone spends their money, and more about understanding what an actual accomplishment is per se. Especially as gamers, we are more impressed with actual gameplay or dedication/time put into something. Once someone literally buys a chunk of the progress, we do not care anymore. I think stating how much it cost in the beginning might have gone over better with everyone.
I think the issue is that a person isn't being allowed to be proud of something because other people feel like it was something so easy that anyone can do it. I say so what? If a person is happy about something that isn't hurting others then good for them, and it's ridiculous to see others belittle them over it.
FYI, I've gone 12-0 and 2 yrs ago I was always around WS. I have been friendly with some of the best players in the game. I don't need to flex and this was not a flex, I thinkk I made that clear in my OP. I don't have the time in my life to grind like I used to and I play for fun now , not to go 12-0 or get my rating above 900. I could care less if you're salty about my post. That says more about you than it does about me. Not even sure why you've spent so much time and energy responding to this thread and the people who are commenting on it.
