It’s physics are totally shot. It comes out like a breaking pitch and seems to speed up at the last second. It’s not unhittable but it is off and needs to be reworked
Go watch Jordan Hicks throw his sinker. A sinker isn’t really off speed, it can be for sure, but it’s technically a fastball. Jordan Hicks’ sinker does everything you say “defies physics”. It shouldn’t flatten out because it’s like throwing a 2-seam or a cutter just with different spin. It’s not a looping or hanging breaking ball. It’s a moving fastball.
Also, it seems to speed up because a sinker is thrown with the same arm action as a fastball and can have incredible spin rates for guys like Jordan Hicks, Edward Cabrera, Thor, etc. and because of that they will have late breaking action which can make it seem as if it speeds up. Think of a drag car taking off and how the wheels spin before it projected forward. Baseballs do with the air what those tires do with the drag strip.
