I got f'd up by him and was sitting on a captain pack so I took him. Yeah he is nasty.

You still get the win so who cares?
-
@MarioMendoza935_XBL that would defeat the purpose
-
Man people complain about everything. This is a complete non issue
-
Im with you. I actually wish the other sports games did something similar. Especially with live series cards.
But man, hitting needs to be heavily nerfed. I mean, I get the need to be more accessible and that scoring runs is fun... I guess
-
I just lost 11-10 in 6 innings of an event game... So no

If I remember correctly, 2K had the multi platform exclusive licensing for MLB. Meaning they were the only company who could make mlb games across multiple systems. This was their answer to EA snaking the NFL license.
And 2K marketed the [censored] out if it, remember the million dollar perfect game promo they had with Justin Verlander.
But guess what? The game sucked. Dropping frame rates on every pitch, stupid hitting engine (late on inside pitches for oppo homeruns) and a whole list of glitches.
Was the analog pitching cool? Yes. But it was a gimmick that nobody would use online, because if you made a mistake in the motion (or the game registered one) you literally threw a pitch that was called "meatball" that was an automatic extra base hit.
-
I really don't understand where these ratings come from sometimes.
He was 76 all last year. 30 out of 33 saves, under 3.00 era. This year he's a bronze! He's 6 out of 6 saves 0.00 ERA. Yeah let's keep him a bronze. Not only that, they classify Aaron bummer as a closer, despite having ZERO save opportunities and give home a silver card. What a joke.

Cheat codes ? No. Change settings? Yes.
I do feel your pain. But lately it's in reverse. I'll give up runs early then lockdown the rest. I might be one of the players you faced..
I play on a TV, fisheye camera, zone plus analog and stride. It's all a big disadvantage but it's the most enjoyable to me. My biggest strength is strategy and "guess pitching". (Not actual GP but sitting on pitches) Very often I'll get torn up 2 times through the lineup , then bam.
Also a lot of people simply swing for the fastball.

I like what you're saying. I have all these future stars cards that I want to get the ta objectives with, but they pretty much get smoked by superb pitching... Especially if you are trying to improve
Exactly. Tons of AWESOME cards that have absolutely no use. I don't really see the downside to such a mode? People are still going to buy packs and grind... People will want new cards... and they don't have to all be 99's to be desirable.
-
Yes, not an actual salary mode ... But where players are assigned a vlaue based on their ratings.
And yes that is what events are!! Or used to be... The events this year have not resembled this one bit..
-
I have been a long time online show player (hint: a Phillies player was on the cover), and I spend countless hours building my team every year. Well except that one year when the desyncs made it unplayable.
This game absolutely needs some kind of salary Cap mode .Something to make use of all these amazing live series and legendary cards that aren't 99's.
Idk if it's an alternate ranked seasons with a cteam overalllimit or a whole new mode all together. But something!
I'm not saying replace any mode but just add. . I know I might be in the voiced opinions minority, but I think a lot of players would enjoy and would allow new players to jump in all year.

60 MullinsI was actually glad to see this thread at first. Finally an event that has lineup restrictions. Makes you sacrifice your dime a dozen all 99 team. And people saying low overalls don't affect your lineup as much. Good!!! Then this [censored] ruined my excitement
-
Been saying this forever. There should be an alternate ranked seasons with lineup restrictions. Hard cap on team overall, like an 80. Or the same format as BR with X amount of diamonds and X amount of gold's and so forth. Something to make use of the hundreds of awesome cards that have no use.
-
@MINISTRO787 said in What's the point of this event?:
I like non-restricted events. Even if they add player (series) restrictions as long as there isn't OVRL restrictions.
Why? I know I'm the minority. I want to understand why?
-
I always liked the events the best that made use of cards that you otherwise have absolutely no use for. Because there are a lot of cool ones. All those gold and low diamonds. Plus silver live series with a boost from insiders edge.
I know I'm in the minority. But I would kill for a "salary Cap" mode or some kind of hard cap on team overall.
-
I don't get it? No restrictions? How is it an event? I was seriously hoping for a live series only event with a max team cap at 80. Make a real MLB team to celebrate real teams playing.
No let's just get the same team you've been using all year. So stupid. I don't understand the point of these.
-
The problem I have , and have had for like 4 years now, is a runner on 2nd automatically sliding into third on a base hit instead of rounding.
It happens all the time to me , but I don't hear many other people complain. Is it something I'm doing? Is it because I use analog stride plus zone that causes my flick up on the swing to trigger this?

@aron1740 said in Serious Question: What's the point of different stats for pitchers if all of their pitches end up over the middle of the plate, despite perfect inputs on multiple modes?:
This has been my biggest frustration with the game this year is pitching, they never call pitches that are on the corners strikes and perfect input means it’s less of a crapshoot where the ball ends up but still a crapshoot.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, perfect input should always result in the pitch going where it was put, the only variable should be the ease or difficulty of perfect input. A pitcher with excellent control should have an easier meter or analog then a pitcher with bad control and that should be the only thing that determines where a pitch goes. If perfect input is not achieved I understand but if it is that pitch [censored] well better go where I put it.The problem with this is that it's not really all that hard to get "perfect input" on a fairly consistent basis. It's a simple meter. Anyone who plays the game even somewhat competitively will get good input more often than not. So pitching with a silver or above would result on dotting pitches all game . That's not realistic.
I know this is an unpopular opinion. But there has to be "RNG" as the kids say. There has to be. Because otherwise it's arcade and no attributes matter besides speed ,velocity, break and the such.
Just take a look at NBA 2K. Everyone whined about input should matter more, more more. The timing of my shot should be by far the most determining factor if it goes in. So they made it that way. And now people are shooting plus 70%! I find it almost unplayable honestly. It's more arcade than ever.
Everyone wants this to be a baseball sim, and more realistic. But that's not what we would get. Arcade arcade arcade.
I'm so bored

Anyone noticed the exit velos are down?
Game is trash. 2k NEEDS to make MLB games great again!
