I think you're high on copium. There is no grand plan. It's a lazy and stupid idea ripped off of EA and 2K, implemented even worse. I honestly don't know if I will ever touch the game again, and my playtime over the last 8 years could literally be measured in months. This shows exactly how little they care about, well, honestly, anything, anymore. Say what you will about EA, but the people making NHL at least CARE. They fail (a lot), but they DO try. SDS hasn't tried to do anything in two years other than make money and they aren't even any good at that.

This is the most pathetic excuse for a "program" SDS has ever done.
-
@RomanDude2427 No, it's this one. If you beat it early on, you got an unhandled server exception and no reward. Guessing they fixed it, at some point, but didn't do anything for those that had already completed it.
-
@biscodisco This is where I am. Literally no way of playing the game seems like a worthwhile return on investment for the time required. You can't even finish the ranked program with just innings anymore. They took out the three team conquest map that's been in the last two years. The daily XP cap is less than the gap between rewards, and MANY of the rewards are utterly pointless (gee, I really want to spend two days grinding for an icon or a banner; thanks guys). I (mostly) enjoy playing the game, but the motivation to do so simply isn't there.
-
Well, I mean, enjoy while it lasts, because for almost all of them, that is ending on the 12th.
-
@kingdutch That's so weird. I play on a Samsung in game mode and the sky is a muted blue and the castle is tan, but it is a pretty dark tan. The contrast is actually more stark than than some other parks. When I first got to it, I thought they had "fixed" it, because I had no clue what anyone was talking about, then I saw that people were still having issues.
-
@Bearsfan217 Replaying a mode that is meant to be replayed is not "exploiting" or "cheating". Good gravy. It was not meant to be repeatable. It was. People noticed and did it. Even without the bonus XP, MS is probably still the best XP method (certainly if you don't have +, GP, or NSO), so it's not like they were doing an activity that they wouldn't have been doing anyway. There SHOULD be a repeatable XP mission somewhere. Most people are not going to do everything, which SDS apparently thinks is how people play. Online people hate offline and vice versa. This has always been true. This is absolutely the least "play how you want" the game has been in years. Probably since '18.
-
For those that have issues, are you playing in 4k with HDR? Because there's no problem at all for me. There's been issues in the past where devs only tested the games in that scenario which led to issues (there was a Forza game where on non-HDR TVs a tunnel was just completely black). I'm thinking that might be what's happening here, because the contrast between the ball and the backdrop is no issue at all on mine.
-
No, but it really is one of those things they should actually tell people, since the program literally becomes unable to be completed once they go away.
-
@xElRojo44x There is no evidence there will be "plenty of content". There's certainly not "plenty" now. Plenty of packs to buy, though. And there is no power creep. They are swapping out, entirely, one set of cards for another, every month. There is nothing "creep" about it. The range of overall in a chapter will be exactly the same on the last day as on the first and the floor of the next chapter will be higher than the ceiling of the prior one. That is not, in any way, a "power creep".

It's not "like" 15k, it is 15k. And I've been wondering if it's a global reset time or individual as well.
-
It just feels like there's nothing meaningful to do and everything is designed specifically to prevent progress. I guess they think this is going to make people spend money. It's really just going to make them go do something else. I've been playing for nine years. I've never had less interest in playing than I do right now. I'm sorry, but this year DD is just poorly designed, even more so than last year.
-
Simply put, if they had announced this cap before the game released, I would not have bought it. If it is still in place at the end of the year, I will not be buying the next one or any future ones. Restricting how much people can play a game they paid for is complete BS. This is FTP garbage thinking. The cap was originally to prevent exploits. Now it is literally and admittedly to keep people from playing.

Feels like nothing for as much as I've played. -
@x814xmafia I would hope they would check game logs before banning people. You don't control who you match up with and if the other team is doing this every game (which they are), it should be PRETTY obvious the person with the 50+ runs is not the one at fault. Not to mention SDS is the one that decided that the mercy rule shouldn't kick in until the 4th inning. If they would change that, the people doing this would likely go away.
-
No, not "as usual". Last year, even with all 99 all the time, the 3 top live series rewards were viable (if not great) all year. These are barely viable, and are not even very good, day 1.
-
It is unlikely that the vast majority of S1 cards will have anything to do with future collections, if any at all. If you've not noticed, they've MASSIVELY decreased the number of available collections. I don't see that changing as the year goes on. They might do something else like Vlad, but it would probably be for a specific card type released with the collection.
-
@Teak2112 It is 1000% daily. Otherwise, you would see people with XP cooldown timers with days remaining. The highest I think I've seen is 10 hours. And the XP track is all there is. The programs were done during early access. TA was finished days ago. And I've played so little I've not even hit the XP cap yet. I get to collect innings in Ranked (stats have been done) and get XP. That's it. I couldn't care less about PXP on cards that I won't be using in three weeks anyway. And the "wildly" different experiences is due to what else they were doing. It's only gameplay XP. Depends on what other XP you acquire during the time period as to how much XP you get before you hit the cap.
-
Encouraging people to NOT play your game does not seem like a winning strategy. Just sayin'...
-
@AstrosJake No, they know exactly how the market works. They are parking funds there to keep from hitting the stub cap (which I assume is still a thing). They know those orders aren't going to be filled, so their stubs are safe.
I'd like to give SDS the benefit of the doubt
