Even if you knew nothing other than the information available in game, VERY shortly after the packs were up, you could buy every card in both packs cheaper than the packs. If you bought a pack that you knew couldn't contain anything worth as much as you paid for the pack, that's on you. They were time, not quantity, limited. There is zero excuse for anyone that didn't bother to check the prices of the contents of the packs before buying them. Was it a questionable release? Yes. Did they actually hide anything or mislead in any way about it? No, they did not. It's not exactly front page news that a pack wasn't worth it. Very few packs are ever worth it.

@capardo_XBL The problem with the showdowns are the cards locked behind them. Some people (who are either very talented or masochists) somehow enjoy them, and more power to them, but locking not only multiple reward cards, multiple collection reward cards, and BOTH huge collection cards completely behind your ability to finish a single showdown at least twice is insane and IMO the single worst thing they have ever done in the history of the game. Your entire overarching collection reward system shouldn't be locked behind player ability and performance in a single, obscure mode. It's just horrible game design and as anti-user as SDS has ever been. And the worst part is that it has such a simple remedy: allow gold cards that came out in March to be sold. They do that? Problem solved, but they just continue to refuse to do so. There is NO valid argument for it to still be the way it is. Anyone that is going to/able to complete the showdowns will have done so by now, and anyone that can't, as it stands, will NEVER have either collection reward card. Lovely design, y'all.

@GoozeFn_PSN My guess is they figured out what is going on and that these cards are going to likely tank, HARD, AFTER they bought the packs, so they are recovering what they can. Otherwise, I have no idea. They are both choice packs so there is no "buy a pack with random card, get wrong card, sell card to buy another pack" possible here. In a way this is the best thing SDS has done all year (you can flat out buy a 99 for less than 75k), but I don't think many will have that opinion, on the packs themselves at least, by the end of the night. If it plays out the way it seems like it will, the draft drop actually WILL be the best thing they've done all year, but if it does end up that way, these packs will be the shadiest thing they have ever done.

Or they could have just made the cards sellable. People who don't want to slog through it four times, don't want to slog through it two times either. There is zero legitimate reason these cards aren't sellable. That both "collection" rewards are locked behind performance in a specific mode is completely absurd.

No, because SDS wants to lock major COLLECTION rewards behind performance in a single mode, thus defeating the entire point of collections. Easily solvable by making gold cards that came out in March sellable, but they apparently are just going to continue to refuse to do that.

I have been asking for this in UT modes for 13 years now. I want a full season mode within a UT mode. No, it doesn't make sense. No, I don't care. If NHL or MLB ever actually does this, I very well might never play another game ever again.

@GixxerRyder750_PSN It's not a matter of "afford", obviously. It's the principle. I'm not literally paying to do something I hate. It would be like the DMV having a cover charge to wait in line.

Eternity. I'm not paying to play showdowns and he requires either Summer Breakout or Negro Leagues, both of which require cards that can only be obtained in showdowns, and can't be bought, so I will never get him because SDS refuses to make gold cards that came out in March sellable.

@Busta-21_XBL Yes, "illegal". Other countries (not America) actually have consumer protection laws and if they don't disclose the odds, or if those odds are false, and they get caught, they will be fined and that fine will not be small. Europe especially has been pushing HARD against the entire concept of loot boxes in video games.

@Teak2112_MLBTS That is the easiest solution and I don't understand why they refuse to. EVERY showdown, conquest, mini-season, etc. card should be sellable. It is just stupid trying to force people to play modes they hate.

@GoozeFn_PSN Of course they didn't. They took it out because people that don't like conquest didn't play a conquest map. Shocker. I don't think it had so much to do with people crying. They were just doing everything they could to push DQ, and eventually realized it wasn't going to work. Those that like DQ are going to play it and those that don't, aren't. You can't force people to and, if you try, they'll just stop playing the game completely, which I was VERY much so on the cusp of before they finally capitulated and gave us a repeatable conquest map.

I don't think the pace is the problem, but the design is. Today's content is a step back and almost completely useless. When the last two major drops are both literally, not just comparatively, better, something is going wrong. Power creep should be stairs, not a roller coaster.

My complaint is on the other side of the ball: when every random scrub is suddenly Ted Williams at the plate and just straight up telepathic on what the call is going to be. When the batter seems to know better where the pitch I throw is going than I do, that's a problem.

How about no? Color Storm is designed so you can complete it however YOU want to. The only person with a lack of creativity here is you if you are choosing to do the same thing over and over. It's extremely well designed.

I think you're high on copium. There is no grand plan. It's a lazy and stupid idea ripped off of EA and 2K, implemented even worse. I honestly don't know if I will ever touch the game again, and my playtime over the last 8 years could literally be measured in months. This shows exactly how little they care about, well, honestly, anything, anymore. Say what you will about EA, but the people making NHL at least CARE. They fail (a lot), but they DO try. SDS hasn't tried to do anything in two years other than make money and they aren't even any good at that.

This is the most pathetic excuse for a "program" SDS has ever done.

@RomanDude2427 No, it's this one. If you beat it early on, you got an unhandled server exception and no reward. Guessing they fixed it, at some point, but didn't do anything for those that had already completed it.

@biscodisco This is where I am. Literally no way of playing the game seems like a worthwhile return on investment for the time required. You can't even finish the ranked program with just innings anymore. They took out the three team conquest map that's been in the last two years. The daily XP cap is less than the gap between rewards, and MANY of the rewards are utterly pointless (gee, I really want to spend two days grinding for an icon or a banner; thanks guys). I (mostly) enjoy playing the game, but the motivation to do so simply isn't there.

Well, I mean, enjoy while it lasts, because for almost all of them, that is ending on the 12th.

@kingdutch That's so weird. I play on a Samsung in game mode and the sky is a muted blue and the castle is tan, but it is a pretty dark tan. The contrast is actually more stark than than some other parks. When I first got to it, I thought they had "fixed" it, because I had no clue what anyone was talking about, then I saw that people were still having issues.
