What even is good PCI for???
  • M MarineSpartan44

So im not 100% sure if im just more terrible than I feel or if the game is just in a bad state currently.

I have sucked with MVP Trout however aside from K's all my outs have been extremely good PCI placement and good swing timing yet its 100% of the time a routine fly ball or worse a Perfect Perfect fly out to the wall against a righty. Yet I come up with SS Jimmy Rollins and a ball not even close to the PCI is a no doubters to the same part of the yard. Im sure you are aware but just incase you are not track MVP Trout has 125 power vs right handed pitchers and SS Jimmy has 77. How the HE double hockey sticks does 77 power hit it a good 100 feet further than 125 (maxed out power) its stuff like that, that makes me annoyed to play the game. I enjoy it but it gets annoying. Mind you I know im not a great player ill be lucky to make WS but I have a winning record but some of my Ls should have been Ws because swing timing wise I out played my opponent. I had 1 game i lost and my opponents legitimately had zero good swing timing and I have a majority good swing timing with about 15-20 Perfect Perfect outs. Yea in 20 Perfect Perfect hits i batted .000 and according to SDS getting a Perfect Perfect is supposed to be close to .800 fat crock of crud that was

  • What do you want in RTTS 20
  • M MarineSpartan44

So I noticed that in the description for RTTS for 20 that it was going to be more RPGish what do you think this means and what would you like to see out of it?

I have one hope for it. I love the mini games they are fun and help get your player upgraded however they do not happen nearly enough. Like I'd like it to be somewhat similar to 2K where you can walk to the gym and pick which work out you want to do. That work out upgrades certain attributes like if you bench press it would increase your power, and arm strength, then you could go to long toss and it has you play catch with a CPU player but you have to do inputs like moving the RS into the zone and that increases your ACC, or you could take Fly balls and throw to bases which would increase Fielding and ACC. However to make it so you can't just spam the mini games and get a 99 over all player out the gate you get a certain amount of energy each day and each workout costs a different amount of energy to complete. And to further prevent spamming of workouts that energy is static it doesn't go up if you don't use it all (no roll over energy from day to day) and maybe even have it so that you can have an option to have a full practice before each game like in IRL.

This would be optional but have some incentive to do. Like if you get Gold in say hitting you get a bonus for that days game in Contact and Power or if you did fielding you get a bonus to fielding and Arm ACC.

What are your thoughts and what would you like to see in RTTS in 20. I love the game mode but it feels the same every year I want them to mix it up so it is more realistic in a way like being able to hit the gym or play catch. And maybe they make it so you can challenge other players for extra XP to certain attributes. Anyone have thought?

  • What exactly is considered bunt cheesing?
  • M MarineSpartan44

@WarriorsAreCool7 said in What exactly is considered bunt cheesing?:

@zach7153 said in What exactly is considered bunt cheesing?:

I've seen threads complaining about people bunt cheesing but what exactly is considered bunt cheesing? Is it just people that bunt the whole game? Cause I know there are times where I bunt in this game for certain situations it is apart of the game after all

Basically bunting anytime with a speedy player to the right side or bunting to beat the auto shift. Not in a situation that you would bunt

in the situation of bunting to beat the shift thats not bunt cheese that's a legit situation to bunt in (MLB players do it all the time even slow guys) because its still a risk if its not perfectly placed it will fail every time. In the terms of bunting with a speedy guy once again id have to disagree because when i grew up the lead off hit was almost exclusively speedy and either drew a walk or bunted to get on and steal. Like I said this was the baseball that I personally grew up on and is not "cheesy" in the least. Because even gugs like me Robinson with 95 speed and 99 bunt don't 100% execute a bunt correctly. Now if all they do is load a line up with speedy bunters that to me is bunt cheese. But that is souly my opinion

  • Toxic players!!!!!!
  • M MarineSpartan44

I hate facing those guys and the guys who pause every 20 seconds hold R2 bunt dance and replay HRs every time. Last time I faced a toxic player he did all the above and im pleased to say i made him regret life I absolutely trounced him and made him watch every HR (he wanted to be toxic so I gave him a taste of his own medicine but I only replayed the HRs nothing else) you want to play dirty ill beat you fairly but im gonna get mine some how so making him watch a J-roll HR is all the sweeter

  • Idea for a new card type
  • M MarineSpartan44

So I was in YouTube and started talking via comments with the Poster of the video we got on the topic of the difference Cards I happened to mention I was slightly disappointed that SDS gave Kershaw a Cy Young from 2014 when he also won the MVP (its very difficult for a pitcher to win MVP so I had hoped they would do that) the YouTuber happened to mention Miggy and his SS when he could have gotten a Triple crown card so his idea was to create a new card series called untouchable and its like Nolan Ryan 7 No hitters, Ted Williams .409 average it would help expand a lot of people's baseball history knowledge in a fun way. But I thought of a what could be a better title and a better way to implement it. Call it the Legacy series and it's for hard to accomplish feats, so let's use Jackie Robinson as an example he gets a Signature Series card and when you prestige his card it changes and has a fancy Legacy title and gives some history in Jackie's case broke the MLB color barrier.

Thoughts on this? To further break it down this would be a special prestige card art, special for legendary players like Jackie, Ryan, Williams any others that have accomplished rare feats

  • Welcome to the forums, Xbox family 🙌
  • M MarineSpartan44

So far from my many years of gaming I've noticed more mature players on within the XBox community than in the PS community. I've gotten more vile messages from PS players than I have on Xbox and I've been playing Xbox way longer than PS. I also have about 5 good friends on XBox that I have their phone numbers and talk to them daily even playing COD and BF on PS I never met any guys like that on PS but I have on XBox. I forsee the Xbox community being a little more mature than the PS community they won't be perfect by any means and there are the bad apples in every community. Some will bunt dance, some will dashboard, some will be toxic but I feel that the Xbox community will play games all the way through especially because most will find out that the momentum can change at any moment. I've had games down by 8 in the 7th and finally found my groove and made a come back still ended up losing but I took it to extras because both of us buckled down and start pitching better I lost because I kept my out of stamina pitcher in and he hung a breaking ball it was a good game

  • What do you want in RTTS 20
  • M MarineSpartan44

I agree with the opinions that contracts should mean way more. I think that having equipment for RTTS separated from DD like instead of being able to buy better equipment with Stubs you have to make more money to get better gear in RTTS. I also would love to see more controllable moments like post game interviews and stuff like that. Thank you guys for the input

  • Poor Bellinger
  • M MarineSpartan44

Honestly I started off terrible with Finest Bellinger was batting under 200 with him, but his Defense caused me to stick it out and its paid off I'm now hitting over 250 with him and hit a few absolutely tanks with him too. But I've had my share of terrible games with players, I'm gonna have to remove Cal from my starting line up for a bit. I was hitting over 350 with him at one point but lately I've been slumping hard with him to the point now he is hitting under 300. I've found if I go into a slump for a bit with a guy I bench him for a few games and I bring them back to find my swing again

  • MLB THE SHOW 21 PROSPECTS FUTURE STARS
  • M MarineSpartan44

I don't understand why people dislike the FS Cards they are a snap shot of what a player could potentially be based of their hype or their potential. But we are all entitled to our own opinions. The way I see it is the FS cards are a 1 year card like I don't expect to see a FS Dustin May, Lux, Robert, Pearson and so on, plus as has been stated previously they have to be juiced to be competitive against the legend cards. I do believe they need to separate the Prospect and Future Stars, like the guys that are close to the Majors get a Future Stars and the guys who show promise but are a little ways off get a Prospect card.

@formallyforearms said in Idea for a new card type:

To help with the baseball history knowledge, Ted hit .406

I stand corrected idk why I thought .409 I was having a brain fart at the time apparently. Thank you for the correction

  • SS Eddie Mathews Price
  • M MarineSpartan44

I think the main demand for this card is souly due to KevinGohD I want to get him but probably wont just because I'm kinda done with the Show for a bit I've lost too may games on some BS like bloopers and poor fielding animations like guys doing a casual wind up and throw in when the situation clearly requires urgency. Or guys hitting balls that should be wilder pitches into gaps. Or my personal favorite every outfielder being able to run down a line drive hit 105+ MPH into a gap that in real life would never be caught. So I'm kinda over it I still play every now and then but not like I used to

  • MLB The Show ‘21 Wishlist
  • M MarineSpartan44

I love RTTS but as many YouTubers have stated it gets stale after you make the MLB its the same thing day in and day out, if they want to keep the CAP limit I'm okay with that but instead of random sporadic opportunities to advance a random ability the game chooses give me something like what the old EA MLB 2K games had everyday you have a training option to work on whatever skill you wanted be it fielding, hitting, base running etc. And like with 2k when in the minors it's mandatory to due the training as it is irl but once called up it's optional. They can then give you the option to either work in the cap for that ability by working with a team mate and subsequently gain relationship points with that player, or you can do the current practice and advance the skill itself but the difference is that now the player chooses. They could even go so far as to have an open world akin to NBA 2K my career where you can practice, go to the gym, earn more stubs to buy gear that is only useful in RTTS (make the gear in DD separate from RTTS) also id like to see more player animation like if the players get an RBI single or hit a double the can choose animations of celebration towards their dugout like in IRL. I'd even be okay with them going back to the old level system of using stubs to upgrade skills in RTTS but I do prefer actually earning my skills rather than getting stubs. I agree pitcher animations need an overhaul. There's so many more changes I'd like to see but this is long enough for now

  • What new or old legends would you want to see?
  • M MarineSpartan44

So I have a few players I'd love to see added into or back into the game.

Firstly, Yogi Berra apparently he was only in the game for 1 year in 18.

Second added back into the game, is Eric Karros he could have easily gotten a decent SS card

Now for the additions to the game.

    Randy Johnson
    Curt Schilling
    Pedro Martinez
    Andre Ethier
    Sandy Koufax
    Don Drysdale
    Tim Lincecum
    Darin Erstad

Now I know we won't get many of these guys if any but my question is who would you like to see added include any of my pick if you agree with them

  • These are your future stars
  • M MarineSpartan44

These Future stars cards got me messed up. Like I get they are juiced but Gavin was done dirty 90 overall for the number 2 prospect in the top 100 is kinda insulting, if we had a greater sample size and he didn't live up to the hype I'd understand but he saw less than 80 ABs and did great respectively but only getting a 90 overall where as guys not even in the top 100 get 92+ cards is insulting to the player

  • MLB The Show ‘21 Wishlist
  • M MarineSpartan44

Absolutely need, need, need to be able to have an open world aspect. I mean open world in the simplest fashion, I need to be able to go to the gym and practice field once a day for each gym increases the cap of the chosen ability and practice field increases the actual attributes. I'm on my RTTS Play in the MLB in LF for the Dodgers and I've been stuck on 65 fielding cap since I was in AA (skipped AAA) I check every single time I have the option to upgrade and not once has fielding cap been there. You could also argue that the Gym and practice field do the opposite gym is the attributes field is the cap or a combination depending on what you want to work. Like if you want to work power the gym is the place to increase the attributes and working on "power swing" is the cap if you want to work fielding practice fielding is the only option you can choose to work the cap or the attribute itself. Vision batting cages none of this mini game on the players phone BS you get in the cage for the same amount of time and work on hitting. Keep the ability to get more points for doing well in the event. But the fact I have not had the option in legit 4 months (in game time) to increase my fielding cap is not it.

  • Kenley Extreme Moment
  • M MarineSpartan44

This one was actually easier for me than some of the others. I just stacked my line up with all Lefties

My line up was something along the lines of the following not in batting order just who I used to complete it

    Griffey CF
    Snider LF
    LS Bellinger RF
    Louis Gehrig 1B
    Gorge Brett 3B
    AS Muncy 2B
SS Ripken Jr (was hitting over 330 with him at the time.

I had Ripken and my pitcher at the bottom of the line up. Now with the better versions of some of these guys itd be even easier.

  • Stream Schedule for MLB The Show 21?
  • M MarineSpartan44

@MadderBumgarner said in Stream Schedule for MLB The Show 21?:

I mean they never really try to catch up new PS players each year who have never played the show. I imagine they will have a deeper tutorial in-game guides for newbies. Also, I've only owned a PS to play the Show year in and year out but since I have a Xbox Series X I'm switching this year.

I'm curious how they'll handle the forums this year with players like myself switching?

I have had a PS since the end of MLB the Show 17's life cycle primarily wanted it for RTTS but mid way through 18 I tried out DD and have been hooked in terms of win percentage it's gone up each year did horrible in 18 but didn't start playing till late July early August and couldn't catch up. However before I got my PS I was pretty up to date having watched YT videos about it before hand. I believe they have already stated they will have an in depth tutorial for new players I could be wrong about that though. In regards to the forums they have already added the ability to sign in via your XBL account I'd imagine it will be the same way its been for PS players just using their XBL info.

  • Lmao
  • M MarineSpartan44

I had one that I got super lucky on ball hit Bellinger in the face and he somehow caught it on his shoe tops no clue how a Diamond fielder misses a routine fly ball but I still got the out sothere is that

Been playing MLB TS for a while. I'll be getting it on my Series X now that I do not need a PS to play it. There are dozens of us! You HEAR ME!?! DOZENS!!!

I'm talking about the noobs that have never played the game. There's going to be a ton of them.
There used to be a learning curve for this game. It took me a couple years to learn how to hit. At least these noobs have rng on their side.

This is true I've been playing DD for about 2 years now start late in TS 18 all of 19 and most of 20 I still struggle to hit well sometimes I struggle other times it's the game with Good timing and Good PCI for a weak Fly ball so the new guys will get crushed I'm an Xbox player but have PS for TS and I can't wait to use a controller I'm more comfortable with

looks like SS Snider will be tomorrow's headliner based on the signature.

After a 99 last week and Duke this week, we might be getting to the point in the year where the big guns are coming out in HL packs. I’m cool with that.

But we had a sig Duke for free last year and he was not good. I wish they hadn’t made Williams a WS reward

This is a legit question im not bashing at all i am simply trying to get all the details before I make a full remark. Did you not do well with last years Duke? If so thats perfectly fine not everyone is going to do well with the same card I personally raked with him I took him out of that set first and he stayed in my line the whole year him and SS Ripken were my most clutch hitters until Finest Bellinger came out but Duke was my every day LF the whole year or was on the bench if I wanted to try a different card out. But to each their own I look forward to Duke coming out. But thats my own opinion you are entitled to your own opinion as well. Have a great (insert time of day), have fun, and enjoy life my good person. Dueces
