Walter Johnson is absolutely freaking horrible! PITCHING IN THIS GAME SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • maaxmorrison_PSNM maaxmorrison_PSN

I recently got the AL Central Live Series Collection award: The 90 overall Walter Johnson.

After giving up 15 runs in a about five innings of pitching with him (in three seperate ranked season games), I think I could consider this the worst legend/card I have ever used.

Constantly, I am dealing with both of his fastballs missing their spot by a foot or more, either leaking straight down the middle or going into the opposite batters box.

But don't you worry, the offspeed is even worse. Throw is just below the strike zone and it will hang straight down the middle, gave up three homeruns off that. The change-up just never hits its spot either.

And I understand that 72 control and 67 H/9 isn't the hottest, but for an expensive collection, this card is the worst thing I have ever seen, you might as well have given me a crossed eyed Celine Dion to go up there and throw pitches. I also have used LS Shane Bieber (74 control and 67 H/9, a near equivalent) and have nearly dominated with him, so I am not understanding why I am being wrecked with Johnson.

I think this comes to show how horrible the pitching interface is this year. I can't get a call, hitters rake, and I am literally screaming at the TV every time I play.

    FIX PITCHING!!!...

  • Chapman vs Hader
  • maaxmorrison_PSNM maaxmorrison_PSN

Aroldis has more variety with pitches, I would take him over Hader. Not that the Hader is bad, But there was a point last year where he began to SUCK online and I got rid of him.

  • My strategy to beat showdown every time
  • maaxmorrison_PSNM maaxmorrison_PSN

What's funny about this is that a ton of people probably go for homeruns mostly. Singles and doubles win you the game. ALSO, not sending your runners. Saving dumb outs or loading the bases over the course of a few hitters will pay you huge dividends when done right. Go all in on the grand slam or an extra base hit in those moments. Scored 9 runs in 4 outs doing this to win the first inning Showdown.

Just started M2O on All-Star with Angels. Wish me luck. Thanks for the help all!

Whatever team u do it with is who u get points for correct? I want Tatis

Yes, so if you did the Rangers one you would get Rangers team affinity points that go towards that Captain Insano Joey Gallo.

  • My pick for hardest moment...
  • maaxmorrison_PSNM maaxmorrison_PSN

The Al Kaline three hit game moment was horrific and the hardest moment I have done this year, took me at least 10 tries. The first career shutout was the 2nd hardest, probably 5 or 6 tries. What I did was try to get 1 strikeout per inning and then pitch to contact with his sinker so I still had some juice in the later innings. Did this for the 2nd shutout as well.

Obviously it's hard to be perfect, but on the lower difficulty more strikeouts will happen quicker when you are pitching to contact.

  • FOTF Carlos Santana or EVO Pudge at catcher?

I have been using Carlos and it is really nice to have a switch catcher in there. But it also gets really annoying when guys can just steal on me. So I am platooning them

I might have to do that

I'm having the same dilemma, I'm at bronze 96, so I'm deciding between Posey or Larkin. I'm getting close to Santana, so I'm leaning towards getting him to replace Pudge and pick Larkin. I've had too many balls die on the warning track with Pudge.

    Take Larkin

Yeah, I've decided he will be the pick, and Santana will go behind the plate. If Santana doesn't work out I'll go back to Pudge. Larkin seems like a card that can stay in the lineup for quite some time.

Heck yeah that Larking is a dawg. Obviously I have a heavy Cubs bias with Sandberg so I just had to take him.

  • Evo Sandberg and Jackson
  • maaxmorrison_PSNM maaxmorrison_PSN

You can only get them at the prestige level in a choice pack I am pretty sure.

  • I know these get asked all the time, but Larkin or Posey?
  • maaxmorrison_PSNM maaxmorrison_PSN

If you are looking for a SS do the Larkin. I think the Sandberg is better, but he sadly doesn't have shortstop as a position. Lindor and J Ram are solid, I have both of them.
