I think these posts are somewhat viable. Us baseball fans are stuck with The Show. This is the only top tier baseball game on the market. SDS needs to hear how unsatisfied we are with the product.
I come on the forums for fun while I'm bored at work, haven't actually started the game up in months. Havent actually, really played since late summer maybe.

Please don't take the lazy route again next year SDS. Please. I want MLB to be a part of my cycle of games I normally play. But I can't bring myself to play the pointless DD grind or the repetitive gameplay of single player modes. It's 2022. We have game systems like VR and mini-super computers like the PS5. It's time to catch up...

I'll probably be on the forums next year too reading what everyone thinks. But not buying the game until it's on sale or I see that there's a clear improvement.

I think it is worth noting that this forum is the minority of the player base. We are much more critical of the game then 95% of the player base is, the same can be said out those that stream and create content for this game.

SDS has all the data in the back end to say what they are doing is either working or not working as well what sales numbers are like and mirco Transactions are like. To be honest what we say in here is heard but the actual weight it carries is problem pretty low.

At the end of the day, The Show is the only MLB game worth spending money on, and it has fun loot box mechanics that will suck in a lot of typical gamer&MLB fans alike. Just sucks for the rest of us more "hardcore-ish" fans.

I had a non gamer friend spend $150 on stubs for packs when the game first came out. He doesn't know any better. He just had money to spend, is a fan of baseball, and finds loot boxes exciting. His $150 beats my forum comment every day of the week 😑

Good point. When I first started DD, I spent a little extra money to get a few packs early on which I regretted as soon as I really learned how to play, flip, earn stubs etc. Now I'd never spend on stubs again but there are plenty who will because it's just casual fun to a lot of people.

Rewarding good pci tends to make game outcomes lopsided. Get it?

I very rarely contact swing, even with low power contact hitters. That being said, I was playing an event game back in part 1 of the current event, and I was attempting to put the ball in play to drive a runner home from third. Ended up with a contact swing moonshot from Bryan Reynolds. I felt bad for a second until I remembered that my opponent chose Shippett. That's on them.

Imop way to much hand holding in defense in this game. I also wish it had way better camera angles on offense and defense. They have the ability to swing the camera around it's in rtts and moments .

How much more intense would it be if the camera flipped around and it's the 3rd out coming right at you and you have to manually catch it.

Game really needs a hardcore mode for online rated.

I would love stat grinds to return, not the way they were in 18 but something to encourage the use of all the cards they give out.

There is no reason there can't be a series affinity program where you gather stats and each time you move up a level you get a reward. No player rewards but say you reach Rookie affinity stage 1 you get a 10 pack.

This would make team builds awesome and it's just something in the background that you have the option to work at

Monopoly. Madden, The Show, Fifa, NBA 2K etc. Why spend money on a product you can recycle every year, except when it comes to where the recurring spending occurs. There is no direct competition anymore because leagues sell their exclusive rights to one developer.

Content creators and other big pocket players keep these games alive. You see the earnings these modes make, and that’s why things don’t change.

It’s like Call of Duty vs Battlefield. Both similar games but because BF has had a string of terrible releases, COD stays the course and doesn’t really improve. I think the days of excellent sports games like NFL 2K5, MVP Baseball 2005, NHL 94 etc. will always be a thing of the past.

Check their PCI feedback... should be huge even if you are playing in HOF..

Thats why I think it may be broken (the feedback). Guaranteed what you see of your screen doesn’t look at all the same as if you contact swing yourself

It's not perfect, but it certainly keeps me playing. I have to imagine it is incredibly difficult to program a baseball game. It'll never be as good as most people that post on these forums want it to be.

I’m in the same boat, my friend. I’ll be the away team 8 out of 9 times. There’s been some speculation as to why this happens, but it would be nice to know officially how the server chooses who will be home. My internet is 400mbps and I’m hard wired to the modem. So it isn’t my internet. Maybe it’s proximity to the server. Maybe it’s buffer bloat. Who knows.

It tends to be pretty random but if you’re matching up with someone who has a superior connection to you, you’re gonna be the away team due to connection quality as the home team has the host. If both of you have similar quality of connection than it’ll be pretty random. There is always the home hunter to deal with too who will only play if they are the home team.

Once you get into game, just pause and go to game log and you can see the listed elevation for the stadium

Grinding TA I just played the Mariners on All Star, got into their bullpen and something effed up happened. They trotted out a few pitchers who just were not locating where the monitor showed. I recorded my gameplay and noted where I saw the pitch and then went back and watched it. All off speed stuff was moving at least a foot once it reached the plate.

I thought I was going crazy until I saw that. It's tough to move the PCI to where the ball is going when the ball doesn't go there, it magically warps any direction a foot or so.

So it makes me wonder if the game realizes that it's warping the ball around. So sometimes it credits you with where you think the ball is and sometimes it pulls the rug out and still rewards you and that is when you see wonky pci vs ball visuals. And then whenever it chooses it pulls the rug out and punishes you with a ground out or swing and miss when you visually located the ball correctly.

Even though I get enough hits I guess I don't feel like the pro ball players I see on screen or feel like what I do on the controller matters, I feel like I pressed the button and got lucky or unlucky.

Hitting is like pack opening.
