You shouldn't feel bad for spending money on stubs to buy the player that you want. go ahead and splurge and get your trout so you could use him for this event. His price is only going to go up and he will not be an endgame card so if you are actually going to use this card you might as well get him sooner than later.

I was really just trying to point out that you can basically complete this game and get any card you want just by playing / grinding the game which i really enjoy.

The game obviously has flaws ingame but as far as the menus, content and being rewarding for playing SDS are miles infront of 2K and EA imo.

You can get free cards better than Trout, i'd say only get him if you're nearly finished collections otherwise do LAA last

What are everyones thoughts on prospect cards atm?

Do you think SDS will keep releasing free prospect card packs to keep the prices low? Since i don't think they're in regular packs anymore (to my knowledge anyway).
I have a feeling SDS will release a ton of those type of packs in the affinity part 2 rewards next week

There's a new event coming out in 2 days that says "build a squad with prospect players" that got me thinking now seems like a decent time to invest in some of those cards, i picked up a super cheap prospect team the other day anyway so if the prices go up crazy i'll sell if they don't i'll probably grind the event.

I could also lock in the dozen prospect cards i have for Mackenzie Gore and Carlsen i just don't think its worth it as i want stubs for finishing LS collection first.(NYY, HOU, LAA to go)
But then again LS cards should be falling over time while prospect cards may go up if SDS don't release prospect packs..... I'm so torn on what to do

I've got to gold lvl 75 so far grinding most days and never experienced an XP lock / cap

Thanks everyone i guess i'll just grind some conquest and finish my SS's 150 hits if i'm not done with 2 hours to go i'll try some HR derby i suppose

Long story short i finally finished the win 10 ranked games and Kerry Wood online strikeouts for 40 stars, i'm now 28 short of the 1000 for a bonus 20 packs.

With 7 hours left what's the fastest way conquest or playing CPU in 9 inning games?

He wasn’t even that good though.

Only because he was released pretty much the end of the game when he just didn't stack up defensively, cards like that which are not end game but very useable being released after 1-2 months would be good and not too over powered.

No I mean he wasn’t even that good in the postseason irl

Lol what? The dude hit a game 5 extra inning grand slam in the NLCS and game 7 world series 2 run go ahead homer.

He had a 91 wRC+ in 67 PA.

For context,
Rendon: 146 wRC+ in 75 PA
Soto: 131 wRC+ in 75 PA
Eaton: 104 wRC+ in 75 PA

Kendrick wasn’t bad by any means, but definitely not good enough to be a 2nd inning boss. Maybe in the gold henchman pack or something.

Howie has always been like that though, very inconsistent but amazing in clutch situations and the 2 biggest ABs of the season he produced.

I think everyone knows Rendon was by far the most consistent Nats bat last season no one is disputing that but in big playoff games its about big moments no one is going to remember singles in the 2nd inning lol.

Also i'm not saying he should be a boss necessarily but if SDS do add a card from last season i think it deserves to be post season Howie more than anyone else.

Mine is Howie "clutch" Kendrick as a 90 rated contact based versatile 2B option with decent pop which is usually a light position i think he'd be a cheeky card to add in early this game cycle.

His fielding and speed is mediocre so he wouldn't be over powered or anywhere near end-game.

That 99 Ryne Sandberg he belts everything for me as a 2B along with elite speed and diamond defence.
Having over 100 contact vision and 85~ power on both side is amazing i don't see how people are taking the other level 99 options over a 2B this good

Nice to know some other people are also doing conquest, for whatever reason i'm a decent player but i can't seem to do showdown efficiently i'll try learn it properly once all my created players are high diamond

Love Cargo's swing but Eddie just an absolute animal especially at 3B / LF secondary

Great stuff man. All great advice, especially grinding out the Team Affinities so you have different teams each time as well. Only thing I do different, is that I don't EVER Bunt to save time. Reason is that I want the extra XP for scoring runs, for the XP reward path, otherwise spot on to the way I do it as well, and I've done it now 6 times as well.

Thanks and same here i like the extra XP and i'm abit of a stat nerd so i don't want my players hitting .100 lol, i don't bunt i always just over run the bases or power swing until 3 outs.

Really? It's by far my favourite mode to play along with showdown if only it didn't cost 1k stubs each time

Yeah always skip the steal fans part it's a complete waste of time

Baseball doesn't work like this.... Even the "best players" fail to get on base 70% of the time

People were complaining about pitching saying how there were too many home runs... It gets tweaked so home run abusers get exposed and now everyone is mad again.

Face it no matter what SDS do one group of people are always going to complain
