    Active Orders All Missing
  • Josh_KCK_PSNJ Josh_KCK_PSN

    Yes.

    Same.

Hundreds and hundreds of sell orders gone -- active orders empty and the items gone from my inventory. I've contacted support. This would be a huge loss.

  • Look at what you did SDS!!!

Same. Probably gonna take me longer to get up than their servers, though.

  • BR Difficulty: Still All-Star?

Haven't played yet, so just checking BR difficulty level this year.

    Thanks!

Still seems showdowns takes long time for 3 points but i guess there aint much alternatives.

Showdown gives you 15 points upon completion.

I found it. You beat me 4-3. I have a weird thing with names, and you're right that maybe it was the team name.

Also, this is when I always play BR.

I only called your initial reply a "sh!tpost". But I'd also call my own thread a sh!tpost. Not everything has to be hard-hitting content, but you even take the time to edit your own weaker posts.

That's because like LeBron, I strive for greatness.

    I know.

But hey, change of subject. Did you actually stop playing H2H sometime in late June or is your game history screwed up?

    Just curious.

I doubt I even made a profit, so this isn't a brag post.

I was just pretty mystified by getting 3 Trouts over the span of 24 hours.

  • Bellinger/Lineup help
  • Josh_KCK_PSNJ Josh_KCK_PSN

I think that all of the decisions you named would best be answered on the basis of how you do with each of them personally, since they are similarly studly players.

In the same position, I would in fact do what you first referenced: move Harmon to third and put Bellinger at 1st.

I do realize that Brett seems to hit above his ratings, but Killebrew seems to hit at his ratings which is probably still better than Brett. And I don't care a ton about defense at the corner positions, hence preferring Harmon to Brett. I don't like the idea of playing my CF out of position. In a game full of stacked defensive CF, I think it's a disadvantage to make such a move.

Edit: I mean I don't like playing my CF at secondary position.

Great info. You don’t have to list all 40, but of the popular swings that you have heard, who have you tested? I’ve heard a lot about how chipper has a good swing. I use Kenny lofton. Mondesi is popular. Brian Roberts swing was nice for me early on. Tony Gwynn. Didi’s swing is very quick. I like Deitrich’s too. I’m sure there is more, but of those guys and any other popular swings did you test any?

First, I know I need to test Mondesi, but I kind of just didn't want to. He rakes but I also wanted more loft than I feel he gets. I'll do him next.

The other guys I considered except Brian Roberts, and I'll throw them all in. I was hoping to try to find guys who seem to have a natural launch angle without being popup-prone.

I went dumpster diving for you, and found a list with half my notes. The rest are probably lying around here somewhere.

    From these notes, I did:

Moncada, Buxton, Moustakas, Jones '08, Canha, Haniger, Hicks, Pederson, Suarez, La Stella, E. Davis, Brett, Alonso, Blackmon, T. Williams

I'll try to add more later. If I recall, these were the guys I picked first because I went through my stats and looked for outliers.

After this batch, I started just going through the lists (Legends, Current Players), and throwing in guys who've been known to seem glitchy this year, or in the recent past if their card isn't out yet this year.

Solid list. Great info. Another person that may fit your criteria with more lift in his swing and seemed kind of glitchy early on was Muncy. Looking forward to seeing future results!

I'll try Muncy. A lot of my experience with "glitchy" swings is based on an extreme amount of Showdown. I never felt like Muncy played above his ratings, which is where my anecdotal first choices were coming from (unfortunately, I don't have stats for Showdown or I'd have a MUCH larger statistical sample for who rakes).

But maybe. He's certainly not bad.

@Josh_KCK said in Somewhat Scientific CAP Swing Testing (T. Hernandez winning):

    Current Results
Teoscar Hernandez edged out Matt Olson in a 120AB practice mode final run-off against Kluber and Paxton/Chapman.

Hernandez had 252 total bases on 80 hits. Olson had 242 total bases, 76 hits.

    Method
I created a practice mode team of all CAPs and gave them each a different "meta" swing. I've "tested" about 40 such hitters thus far.

I gave them 10 at-bats apiece against a meta righty and meta lefty, then measured comparable total bases and hits. If they seemed like absolute junk in the first go, I went ahead and eliminated them. While still not a sufficient sample size, guys like Hernandez, Olson, (and to a lesser extent) O'Hearn, and Pete Alonso were markedly better than the guys I eliminated quickly.

Once I eliminated a player's swing, I'd add a different meta-swing to the CAP and then I'd continue getting more ABs with the front-runners -- until a gap in outcome became noticeable enough to once again make some cuts. (Since I am looking for one dominant player-swing, I am not interested in finding out how players rank once it seems they aren't going to be the winner.)

This is how I ended up with Hernandez and Olson in a run-off.

And of the swings I've tested so far, I do feel they were distinctively better for me.

    Who Cares?

    1. I'm sharing in case the Hernandez swing turns out helpful for you as well.

    2. And also to welcome feedback on improving the testing approach.

    3. And also to welcome suggestions on who you think could give Hernandez a run for his money.

More (Potentially Wrong/Useless, In This Case) Info
Another thing I'm working on is A/B testing different swing adjustments to Hernandez's core swing in order to determine what individual mechanic elements may account for "glitchiness".

One interesting observation so far, is that there seems to be an extremely high percentage of "glitchy" stances with NARROW feet spacing prior to their stride. It also seems like having a closed-ish stance is better than open.

    That's about it for now.

    tldr;
Last time I was awake for 3 days, I opened 10,000 packs. This time, I took 1000 practice mode ABs.

Insomnia (and adderall) is a helluva drug.

    You sound like me

"Line drive and a base hit! Justice is scoring the tying run. Bream to the plate, and he is...

    SAAAAAFE! Safe at the plate.

The Braves go to the World Series."

It’s alright man...I know trolls come with the territory when posting on this forum and that’s ok. I know when there’s a new player I’m thinking of getting I like reading reviews first so I try to pay it forward when I can.

I want to clarify that I not only wasn't trying to troll you; I wasn't even trying to be slightly critical about the outcome YOU had.

I was only responding in reference to whether we can know Maddux is great yet.

If you were simply sharing a great game, I wouldn't have posted about your opponent. But knowing information about the opponent helps to add context to the review, especially if the review is based on 1 outing.
