Hey there, I think I can help you out. I’m a Giants fan and know Fitzgerald and his speed pretty well.

He can’t really hit MLB pitching, not a great defender and he’s frustratingly inconsistent. He has displayed an incredibly low baseball iq - doesn’t have baseball instincts.

The guy is freaking fast though, really, really fast. Elite speed in fact - 99th percentile in MLB. All of this has been measured by statcast since 2015 - only guys consistently faster are Witt, Elly and Turner. So I don’t think the game pulls their speed ratings from anywhere outside of proven statistical data.

We don’t know for sure but he is most likely faster than Rickey, Brock or Vince Coleman ever were - athletes today in general are vastly superior athletically compared to even 10 or 15 years ago.

Also - base stealing is more about instincts, ability to read a pitcher and quick acceleration than raw speed. Rickey was the best ever at this even if he wasn’t the fastest. Fitzgerald is really fast but also terrible base runner.

So this is a too long post to tell you that your criticism of Fitzgerald and the game in this specific issue is not only misguided, but highly misinformed and wrong. Have a good one.

Imagine crying this much about a game, then begging for your money back.

All because the servers had issues at launch then PSN had bad issues this weekend.

The servers - especially in Weekend Classic and every year at launch - are an issue that needs to be addressed. But crying about it is lame, like a little baby throwing a tantrum when their binky gets taken away.

I’m 45. Without question the brain doesn’t tell the fingers to move as fast as they used to. The game is still fun but it’s a bit depressing.

Oh, also it reminds me how bad my vision is.

When I click on Team Affinity in the app, all of the teams but one (usually) are greyed out which makes it impossible to track progress via the app.

This started when Color Storm was introduced. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I’m raising a teenager, preteen and a 7 year old.

My son loves The Show and has heard the song. We joked about how inappropriate it was because I taught him to think critically and not take anything too seriously, unless it deserves to be taken that way.

Parenting is really hard but it’s obvious every day which people were raised to be in the real world and which were not.

You didn’t “lose the market” you lost your full-time unpaid job you operate out of your mom’s basement. I know you’re mad because you might have to actually play the game now but it might be good for you and your fellow Stub CEOs in the long run.

And for the record- Calling this ‘economic control’ is a reach. They capped inventory and reduced easy flips — that’s it.

You weren’t investing, you were exploiting loose mechanics, and now that they’re gone you’re framing it like a macroeconomic issue.

And this isn’t serious analysis, you may want to “invest” your time learning real markets instead of treating The Show as your little make believe Hedge Fund fairy tail.

But again, I love the post. Hopefully you share these replies with your buddies during your next furry party.

20 is generous. But we should be nice to him, he can’t remember if he stopped playing the game in 2017 or 2023. Traumatic brain injuries and/or dementia are serious problems.

I’ll never forget when I stopped playing NBA JAM in ‘03. I’ve been raging on that message board every day since.

Can’t believe they kept saying “boom shakalaja” that really bugged me.

This is my strategy, if I have the right cards for it. Not sure if it’s right or wrong.

1. Catcher, I like a switch hitter and if they have a secondary position that’s a plus.

2. Speedy guy that plays multiple positions and is good defensively. Late inning pinch runner then defensive replacement.

3. Always have two options from each side of the plate, switch hitters help here.

4. Reinforcements for the 2 or 3 spots where I am weakest offensively.

So my ideal bench would be something like Carlos Santana when he had C eligibility, Eli Willits, then a guy really good against righties and a guy really good against lefties.
