So you're new to the game and these forums so first, welcome! Second, you should know that this game is different and there are a bunch of ways to earn an excellent team and that generally on the forums we don't shame anyone for how they choose to spend their time or money or get lucky with pulls. You won't find many friendly responses from that approach. Also, you should know that anyone can check your game history and see that you lost 6-2 and were outhit 10-5 and only struck out 3 batters while striking out 12 times yourself and his team had a lot of cards only available by grinding so you stretched some truths/lied about some pointless facts in your post. I understand frustration, but take this as a learning opportunity and move on. I am by no means the sheriff of the forums or even a big poster so you do you, but don't expect much support.

Ross probably doesn't own many Lesters in The Show

Pretty sure it's an NHL team. Seattle already has a baseball team.

Hopefully one day you guys will become good enough at The Show where you can turn off the strike zone and stop using the PCI and just play Analog Stride
Keep practicing guys :).
I was an analog stride guy for a couple years. You're at the mercy of the attributes of your cards, it's not like there's a ton of skill needed there.
Step one: time the stride
Step two: time the swingAm I missing something?
Time your stride and then time your swing?...hmmm sounds familiar eh?...sorta like swinging an actual bat. Oh wait so most of you like moving a target around with a bullseye and pressing a button instead?...sorta like Duck Hunt?:). So are we here to play baseball or play Duck Hunt? :).
Right... if anyone here played real ball like you they’d understand that it’s all timing the stride. No need for any hand eye coordination at all. Track the pitch? Pssshh You don’t even really look at the pitch when you’re as good as you huh? Just master the pitchers timing like the true greats.

Jacoby Ellsbury has a very quick swing and his power really plays up. He's got 96 steal and speed so he usually gets good jumps and if you can prestige him he's very hard to catch. He's been my favorite leadoff hitter since his release.

@cellodan1_psn said in What’s the Salary for?:
Yeah, salaries are kind of pointless in this game. I have done one thing in the past to make the salary meaningful in at least one way. Take long term contracts at 30k/yr. This will allow your team to spend it on better complementary players. I know, it’s immersion breaking, but much of the game is these days...
Yeah this has been exactly what I do too. If contracts mean nothing, I'd rather the money go to lineup protection for my player.

Yes, do the Monthly Awards Moments for Corbin but find them in the Moments box in the "Play" tab, not the Collect tab and Programs box.

I can't remember who said it, but I once heard a manager say in a postgame that he'd stop running up the score if the other team agreed to not score any more runs as well. Makes sense. The Padres have had one of the worst bullpens in the league.

Actually, in the last couple years, stub sales cause a pretty big spike in card prices as everyone starts buying. So if you can spend a weekend without your stars, you can sell them off and buy them back cheaper. We'll see if this year is the same though.
-
Also, the 28th is a Tuesday. So we'll get the 5th inning as well as a new event I think next Friday and then the Honus collection on the following Tuesday. Make sure to tune into the SDS Twitch stream next Thursday for drops and hints.
-
Absolutely a good trade. Walker will be replaced soon by Mays or Griffey anyways. Sell while he's high if it gets you Mantle and Biggio.

I agree with pretty much all of your points here. Well thought out. While it bothers me to see so many 99 FS players rivaling real legends of the game, it has certainly gotten me more interested in other teams' farm systems and I liked playing with the golds and low diamonds early in the year.
I agree that there needs to be a clearer line between Prospect and FS or just eliminate one. Maybe there could be a Prospect/FS program like you suggested, however you would earn a prospect and then have the ability to "prestige" or "evolve" them into their FS card. I think that would make me feel like I earned the juiced stats on those cards. Just a thought.
Nice post Hooligan!

Unless otherwise noted, it typically drops at 3pm ET

AnceLarmstrong is my go to for a chill time. Great market advice too for NMS players but no judgement either way.

TBH, this issue transcends all clubs. MLB players need a designated third party like an HR department where they can anonymously bring up things.
Fiers should have said something WHILE on the team. Waiting 2 years to open his mouth? That's not cool. Good only knows about all of the things on and off the field that ball players share with each other. He has put himself in a rather awkward situation.
He's not a hero by any means, but also not a villian.
If an HR department existed, Hinch, Fiers and anybody else could have and would have said something.
Then everyone accountable would have paid, and it would have been stopped in it's tracks.
Players/coaches need a place to go and report issues that are potentially detrimental to the game.
There’s no organization in the world as big as a baseball team that doesn’t have an HR department. The Astros have an HR department. MLB has an HR department. The MLBPA has an HR department as well as a safe channel to raise issues. Heck Fiers released his bombshell with a couple other anonymous players so clearly it can and could have been done anonymously. I understand what you’re saying, but there were a dozen ways that Hinch or anyone else could have anonymously spilled the beans on the situation and [censored] it down as soon as they saw it. If you’ve ever worked for a company bigger than 10 people, you know that there are always channels to report abuse. You can’t give these guys excuses. If they had excuses, they would apologize and explain themselves instead of making jokes about it while accepting rewards.

Yeah his video says 99 Overall pitcher, which is just wrong. But Chapman always plays above his rating.
