It’s so bad across the board. I’ve stopped playing ranked seasons for the last few days because of it. But even conquest, showdown, and mto I’ve got guys booting balls and screwing me royally.

Just pulled Trout out of 10 pack reward bundle from 1st inning program! Holy [censored], best pull in all years I’ve played. So excited right now!

Honestly, I’ve just stopped worrying about what the most efficient way is and do whatever I feel like I’m gonna enjoy most.
So I’ll spend a little time on showdowns then switch to MTO before I break my controller. Then when I get tired of that grind I move on to another.
In the end it’ll all get me TA points. I’d rather enjoy the ride than stress about it.

I’ve struggled with other guys moments, but honestly all of his were a piece of cake for me. I finished his 5 game moments in 3-4 games pretty easily. He had surprisingly good pop for me.
Sorry to hear you’re struggling. I just used normal swing and tried to work the counts best I could. Idk maybe I was just seeing ball really well for once lol.

What I don’t understand about showdown is why they label challenges as rookie or veteran but they play so much different and harder than that.
I can go play conquest, MTO, or vs. cpu on all star and bat around my lineup fairly frequently in an inning. However I struggle to even get on base in rookie and veteran showdown challenges???? It makes no sense.
If they wanna keep showdown this challenging fine, but I think it aggrevates most of us when we go in feeling confident that we can handle these only to find it doesn’t play the way it’s advertised.
I really like the idea of the mode and the way its set up, but it frustrates me even more than ranked seasons.

Yea and the fact that you get 4 cards AFTER completing each team collection that you can do absolutely nothing with makes no sense at all.
-
Anyone else getting this glitch where the scoreboard won’t show the right amount of outs? I have to pause and go back into game for the outs to show. Happens in MTO and conquest games. Haven’t played online in a while so don’t know about there. Has messed me up a few times when I get distracted and not paying close attention.

I’m with you man. I’m not great at this game but I’d say I’m at least an average player. I usually have a winning record and can compete in almost every game I play. I’ve made World Series level in past years.
This year started the same, but the last couple days I can’t hit to save my life. I luck into a home run once in a while but I can’t string together hits at all anymore. Even playing offline MTO and conquest feels harder than normal. Its getting frustrating for sure.
Think I’m gonna take a break for a couple days and see if that helps.

Got 4 hits my first game. 2 the next. 3 the next, then dashboarded the last game like twice until I got the final 2 hits. Pretty easily tbh
What do you mean by dashboard? Don't you basically quit and give up on that game if you leave it?
Dashboard means you go back to PS4 menu and click options on the show and close application. When you go back in it will pick up at beginning of game you just “dashboarded” it doesn’t work on Showdown but still does on moments. It’s the one bone SDS has thrown us this year
I feel pretty dumb for not doing this in many of my close moments in the final games, this will help me going forward. Thank you for this!

Aaahhh I really hate this to. I’m so sick of coming into a game only to find out I have all my best players riding the bench and have to have my catcher drop balls before I realize they have someone there out of position.
Happens a lot with first baseman for some reason to. I’ll throw over for an easy ground ball and my 1b drops it like a hot potato. Then find out I’ve got an outfielder there that apparently can’t catch balls that are directly at him and not in the air.
Now I make sure first thing I go and check my positions and lineup, just such a waste of time though when I’m trying to grind these as quick as possible.
-
I think they should either adjust sliders to match the advertised difficulty, or change what their calling the difficulty to match how it actually plays.
Rookie, veteran and all star do not play anywhere near the same as they do on all other modes.

One of my top goals every year is to complete all Live series collections. It’s pretty much what I grind for. You get a ton of XP.
What I do is go through every team and get them to the 30 card level first before worrying about golds and diamonds. This will get you pretty high up the do reward path.
Like someone else said it’s somewhat subjective as to whether it’s worth it or not. I enjoy it so I say yes.
Oh also after you’ve locked all those cards into live series collections, don’t forget to put them into the create a player sets too, that gets you a decent amount of stubs back. I forgot about that until just the other night, was a nice bump to my stubs

I’ve finished 2 no hitters. I’ve played a lot of MTO’s though so I’d say I have had about 20 opportunities. Normally I end up gettin screwed in the 9th with a jammed blooper or a dreaded weak dribbler In front of my catcher who forgets how to stand up.
-
I picked him and he’s been my saving grace in several games. I’m not a very good player but I do well with him. I believe I’m hitting around .370 with him in ranked seasons. Which is good compared to most of my others lol

Seriously, momentum is messed up in playoffs. I finished off sweep in nlds with Strasburg. Came in with a no hitter going and actually finished it. Didn’t get any extra momentum for that just two for winning game.
Game one of nlcs with max momentum I am down by two in the 6th inning. Had 121 wins in regular season to. Went on to lose the game. I couldn’t even get a hit. I had at least 10 perfect and squared up hits that were all right at someone or diving spectacular plays.
I did go on to crush them the next four games but it was still annoying lol

I love it regardless of any issues I may have encountered. I enjoy the grind and all the game modes and various ways to earn xp and rewards. I play mostly vs cpu in conquest, moments, and now showdowns. I suck at ranked seasons, but I still play a game or two each day just to grind xp and affinity innings.
I used to collect baseball cards, so I love that aspect to this game too. I really don’t have any serious complaints about the game at all. I’ve already got my money’s worth and will continue to grind for quite a while.

Grinding out TA can help with the team specific reward packs. They’re not sellable but can help get you silver and bronzes for each team.
Not a huge help but I didn’t realize it until I had already obtained all teams silver and bronze cards. I could have saved quite a bit of stubs if I grinded those packs out first.

Collect the easy ones first. (Jays, Orioles, Royals, Tigers, etc.)
Collect 30 on each team minus the expensive ones for tons of XP.
Start knocking off the easier divisions. (AL Central, NL Central)
By the end, you'll probably have Trout, the Astros, Yankees, Rockies and Dodgers left. Decide which you want to spend your stubs on first and go from there. I chose to get Sheffield done first because NL doesn't involve selling your soul for Trout.
This is exactly how I am doing it. My fingers are crossed I can pack a Trout this year, that will pay for a couple. I have 300k saved up as a base for any cards I may want to buy, for example I fully expect either HW or Prime George Foster to be a Flawless reward, I'll have to buy that on the market, so I want to keep stubs stock piled and still buy collections.
Not gonna pull Trout with wishing and hoping, need to buy more headliner packs. If you buy it, he will come.
Pulled my Trout out of 10 pack 1st Inning reward. No purchase necessary.

I’ve only attempted it once so far. I did complete The first few “rookie” challenges just barely with some 2 out magic that I didn’t expect. That being said it did not feel like rookie difficulty at all.
Rookie difficulty in any other mode typically means a high strike percentage thrown. I was getting garbage the entire time. Then when I would square balls up they were mostly resulting in outs.
Then I get to Sutter and couldn’t even get anyone on base until 2 or 3 outs left even though I had several perfect and squared up results.
I honestly like the set up of showdowns a lot, I just wish they weren’t so inconsistent with the rest of the game. If it’s rookie or veteran difficulty then it should play like it. Or at least change what they call the difficulty to reflect how it actually plays.
-
I actually get use out of all of them because I use each team to get the TA innings (just once) and missions done for 10 points. My goal is to complete all TA’s so I do this combined with exchanges, mto, and showdown.
If I wasn’t doing this, I would agree that most would have no use on my team.
