So I have 300k in stubs. Right now my outfield is RF Larry Walker CF Luis Robert and LF Babe Ruth. I have Musial playing at 1st. Thinking about selling Musial moving Babe to 1st and picking up Ricky Henderson to man LF. His stats look incredible on paper and he will instantly become a upgrade defensively for me, but.... I’m having a hard time trying to convince myself that he could possibly be worth that many stubs. Any feedback with personal experiences with him would be appreciated.

@PennyWiseLA25 said in Chipper or Boggs:
If you love Boggs that much, go ahead and move chipper to Left, until you get Ruth. I think with a large enough sample size, you will appreciate Chipper’s bat
I haven’t even played a game with Boggs yet. I just got him. Chipper is the one I really like but just trying to maximize the most out of my lineup.

Thanks guys Locastro is exactly what I was looking for.
-
Who are some of the cheapest fast players? I’m talking strictly speed and steal rating. Don’t have to have a good bat. I’m gonna use strictly for pinch running situations.
-
I also think that I could move Chipper to play left field until I finish the Babe program and put Boggs at third. Since my outfield is RF Larry Walker CF Luis Robert and LF Christian Yelich (strictly for his bat against righties) Surprisingly putting Chipper in left would be a upgrade over Yelich defensively so that may be the play. Until I get Babe and then I’m in the same dilemma.

I finally pulled the trigger on Chipper and have had good results with him so far. There have been about two or three line drive shots that he has misplayed but besides that he has been awesome. Just got Wade Boggs out of a pack and he has amazing contact not so much power but stellar defense as well. I feel like since spent all those stubs on Chipper that it would be hard to bench him for Boggs but it’s tempting. The rest of my infield is Rollins Hornsby and Thome. Who would you suggest to start between Chip and Boggs? I even thought about switching Boggs and Thome out at first but I feel like that would kinda be a waste of Boggs defense at third if I’m gonna play him I should play him at his best position. Would love y’alls feedback.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess it’s just preference. I’ve always wanted to try out Chipper but he has always been pricey and honestly that defense worries me. But if anything I can get Chipper and for some reason I don’t like him/can’t hit with him I can sell him and get Brett. Since Chipper is about 15,000 stubs more.

I made a post yesterday about who you prefer at 3rd. The majority of people suggested Chipper(who I love as a Braves fan) and George Brett. I would really like to have Chipper because of the switch hitting aspect but enough people posted about Brett to make me second guess my decision. Bretts defense is way better on paper and so is his contact. So if you have had both or if you have had success with either please leave me a review on both. I have enough stubs to get both but Chipper is about 15,000 more stubs more. Which I feel is a little high for a 94 ovr compared to a 99 ovr in Brett.

Hornsby is awesome just acquired him like four days ago. He is amazing. But up until then I couldn’t let go of Daniel Murphy dude plays way above his attributes IMO.
-
I appreciate all the responses!! I’m probably gonna go with Chipper because I like the switch hitting aspect he brings(and I’m a die hard Braves fan) but I may try Brett or the Panda out to. I’m definitely gonna keep Longoria on the bench for defense but Encarnacion is gonna have to go!
-
I have right at 58,000 stubs about 8,000 stubs away from Chipper. Him being a switch hitter really intrigued me. Right now I have been switching between Gold Glove Evan Longoria and 95 Edwan Encarnacion (secondary position) Who are some sneaky good 3rd baseman’s or is Chipper the way to go?
-
I just got him and already I can tell a huge difference between him and Kieboom (who I had previously). Much smoother swing elite speed and him being a switch hitter is such an added plus!!
-
I have 96 Carter Kieboom right now. I’m just looking for a better option if I was to sell him I could get Jimmy Rollins which I would love because he is a true five tool player! But my question is is there maybe another Shortstop y’all would recommend that may be cheaper OR should I try to save some more stubs and try to get Ernie Banks? Has anyone had both and could share their experiences with them. I’m leaning toward Rollins but I am open to any suggestions.

Alonso’s swing seems to be slower than Thomes to me.
-
I just got HRD Pete Alonso. But I have 99 Thome at first right now. I’m about to give Alonso a try and see how I like him. But he is selling for about 12,000 more stubs than Thome. So does anyone think Alonso is above and beyond better than Thome?
-
Thanks for the responses. That’s a good idea to put Musial at 1st and Babe in the outfield (once I get him) I have 99 Thome at 1st. So I’m thinking about moving him to the bench if I get Musial and Babe. For whatever reason I don’t do great with Thome even though a ton of people love and rake with him. I’m just looking for a switch up.
-
Would you rather have Stan Musial or Bryce Harper? I’m still like 70 stars away from Musial and only got like 20 stars in total toward Bryce since I am still grinding on the Babe program. I only got 6 more HOF games left on that so when I get done with that I was gonna try to pursue either Musial or Bryce. I like Musial bat but his defense looks suspect. Bryce looks like a more complete player. Any feedback would be appreciated. My outfield right now is Walker, Luis Roberts, and Christian Yelich.
-
Okay. That’s crazy that every day they change. But just like real baseball everybody isn’t going to play everybody the same. So as for the stars do they mean anything or represent anything?
-
This is my first year doing DD. I see that now that the real season has started that they are boosting or negating players stats. For example my Francisco Lindor went from 87 to 88 over night. I’m guessing because the real season has started. But my question is what do the 5 stars mean? Also do players overall change daily or weekly. Thanks in advance for any replies. Like I said I’m new to this so I was just curious what was going on.
Is Ricky worth it?
