I have worked with current and former players directly as far as licensing their images and paying royalties. It’s not difficult to acquire a player’s rights per se, the contracts we used were simple and didn’t even fill 2 pages. But it can be difficult to get a response: the effort in following up and communicating with player’s representation can be simple or an absolute pain. In the case of MLB The Show where they have secured a huge player pool including the rights of current MLB players as well as those who participate in the “blanket HOF” licensing, they wouldn’t spend too much of their time on overtures to secure any one particular player, say McGwire or Alfonso Soriano etc.
Not all HOF players participate in the licensing, and have to be contracted directly. This is the case for Mantle, Clemente, Aaron, and many others. It’s an interesting business to say the least.
Williams is a cheat code, stuff is so good
Thanks, I have Williams, he’s sick! I’ll probably switch Hendriks for Anderson
The prestige version is much better with the boost in velo. I used him in events to prestige him, same story with Nick Anderson.
I’m currently running with: DeGrom prestige Hershiser prestige Bauer prestige Palmer prestige Seaver/Paxton prestige/Nolan Ryan
I’m considering Yu Darvish and prestiging him, any decent reviews?
Thanks for the options, I’ve used Gibson with decent success. He’s probably the first name I left off the list. I usually hit Scherzer and Lamet pretty well, I’ve also used Lamet with mixed results. I’m very intrigued by Kershaw TBH, I can imagine that his prestiged card would be really tough!
I like the Cliff Lee suggestion, very different opinion than I’ve heard. I also bought Kerhaw and may test him out soon. I’d love to get Sale, but don’t have the stubs atm. Lester is an interesting one, Hamels was pretty popular earlier in the year...I may buy a few and stream them.

Lefty Grove Signature Walter Johnson Signature
Mike Scott was a stalwart in my rotation all summer! I’ve used Maddux with mixed results, Kershaw was great in his first start, I just picked up Johnson and may try Grove! Thanks!
He was money all year, but now is match-up dependent. The 125/H9 (parallel 4) def is a factor in my using him
What’s your rotation looking like?
Mine: 1.Verlander 99 2. DeGrom 99 3. Arrieta 99 4. Blue 99 5. Valenzuela 97
I also mix in: 6. Ryan 99 7. Pearson 99 8. Wood 99
Have considered •Seaver 99 •Gibson 99 •Ohtani 99 •Felix Hernandez 99 •Newhouser 99

He's pricey and gotten even pricier the past few days, but Jansen is a really nice bullpen piece. Oh...also Eck. For the longest time I had that card in my pen and didn't turn to it much. He is beyond consistent and sometimes that is exactly what you need.

I forgot Eck, I feel like I could give him another shot…could pony up for Jansen, but idk if want to.
Who do you have in your pen? I’m not completely happy with mine, but I’m not sure there are better options available? Gossage is the best reliever in the game IMO, Chapman, Miller are both staying,
Gossage Chapman A Miller Soto Dibble L Smith Britton Rivera
Considering: Fingers Nen Reyes Hoffman G Richards (Topps Now) P Corbin (post season)

Getting all those K's with Jim Palmer, who IMO is the worst prestigable pitcher must be brutal. Gehrig's requirements are daunting but at least he's a good card. I wouldn't be surprised for a second if Prestige Matt Williams was the official "rarest" card in the game. He isn't a good card and he has tough requirements Granted I only play on AS in RS but Palmer is a decent option for me.

Palmer, both regular and prestige, was my best starter until November. He had unreal numbers and a high K/9. I’ve combined to use those cards for nearly 300 IP. Now he’s my 5th starter.
My pen has been pretty lights out lately:
Andrew Miller Pat Neshek Devin Williams prestige Nick Anderson prestige Crochet Chapman Gossage
