I’m simply hoping for more early legends. Red Schoendienst and Phil Rizzuto were great surprises, along with Roy Campanella and my boyhood hero Albert Pujols, but so many more deserving legends are out there. Rights? Did we ever get a Duke Synder better than his spring 85 diamond? What happened to our early legend pitchers?

Do we know when to expect the next legends announcement?

I’ll look forward to playing Campy’s storyline and getting that stadium, but man, this franchise is literally called MLB and everyone is playing it because it’s MLB. I’ll grind like everything to get his 99 Dodgers card. SDS needs to step up its game and put some effort into our early MLB players.

I think they’ll release a big legend in the legends trailer. If they’re tracking who people seem to want the most, and able to get it done, I could see it being Joe DiMaggio or Ty Cobb. Either would be exciting for sure.

I agree with wanting some of the lesser-used 99 legends early. I’d love to play 99 Willie Mays and Richie Ashburn in the outfield, but by the time 99 Ruth, Mantle, Williams, Musial, Synder, Greenberg, etc. comes along I’m trying to work them all in.

I like playing the earlier players and would love to see more of the history of the game through them. Campanella was on my wish list so that’s a good start to the legends announcement. Pujols was my favorite player growing up and a living legend. Nap Lajoie is an overlooked legend. Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby were in the game before I started playing DD and that would be awesome to have.
I’d add- Joe DiMaggio, Enos Slaughter, Tris Speaker, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Mel Ott, Dizzy Dean (btw, where did all our early pitching legends go?!), Sandy Koufax.

I agree. But, it would be nice to also have some dialogue with so many wanting our early legends returned and new early legends added to the game. I would like to think the decision makers see how much of their consumer base expressly wants this, not to mention those that won’t input and will quit it and forget it. Baseball fans respect baseball history and there’s undoubtedly so many families that would simply love to see their loved ones remembered in a modern game. Hall of Famer Earle Combs for one- have you tried? I’m only one person, but I’m unquestionably one of many people who will not buy into next year’s game without expansion to our early legends. I also can’t believe I never got a 99 Duke Snider this year. I defended SDS last year and was very impressed to have Ted Williams, Gil Hodges, and Hank Goldberg in this year’s game. Those alone brought me back. Thank you for that and I hope to soon hear similar news for ‘26 to reel me in once again.

@TripleH-4481_PSN FWIW, I’m a younger player who decides to buy the game each year based on the legends. I did not initially plan to this year, but Hodges, Williams, and The Hebrew Hammer made it a no-brainier for me. I’ll be waiting for those announcements for 26 and hope to be pulled in again

I agree 100 percent. That’s why I get this game- for the early legends. And how about a storylines-type program for some of these guys? Gil Hodges, Ted Williams have great, legendary stories. That would truly elevate the game, in my opinion.

If people aren’t eager to use a 99 Hal Newhouser this late (and the captain boost means they probably are), then I’d hope they would put him in very early next year. I like to field an all Old Timers squad lol

I imagine it would be a convoluted right’s acquisition, but imagine storylines following legendary teams (‘27 Yankees, Cardinals Gashouse Gang, Pirates We Are Family, etc.). Introduce some obscure “legends” players whose family would be honored that a new generation can know their loved ones.
