I can’t be the only one in this boat, was nice while it lasted. Ok then stop trying to participate in a mode where elite players are playing. Just because you want something doesn’t give you the right have it. Either accept the reward that they give you for participating (the participation trophy ie the non sellable card) or stop playing the mode altogether and annoying us with your whining about why you can’t sell your trophy. This is so insulting. Grinding 8-10 hours, playing the same people you are but winning less isn't a participation trophy. Elitist snobbish points of view like this are exactly whats wrong with this game.

People like me who can't go 12-0 are playing the same people, the same difficulty, the same grind, but because 1%-3% of the players can get more wins before losing they deserve extra rewards and everyone else deserves nothing. Get out of here with that elitist POV

Please go tell that to streamers who make a living at playing this game. You’re only further proving my point. Let me guess, you think capitalism is elitist and snobbish too? Well why don’t you tell me how every communist society has faired in the history of human kind. Cuba, China, N. Korea, USSR, Venezuela, all the eastern block European countries during the Cold War. All are cautionary tales about how much of an abject failure that economic system actually is. But you’re young maybe you know more than me. I'm 47. I hate politics and won't discuss them in a game forum. Streamers are the bane of all gaming, IMO.

May 16, 2023, 10:39 PM@IrishFist412 said in The new BR/WS reward setup is fair.: Several years ago the WS reward was Chipper Jones & man did I want that card BAD. Problem was - At that time I wasn’t yet a WS caliber player & there was no reward path. Only way for me to get him was to put in a buy now order for a million stubs & wait in line. By the time I earned a million stubs & put in the buy order, There was no way I was going to get one before the year ended. 4 months I waited & my order never got filled before the next show dropped….So please believe me when I say that being able to earn a no sell version is a HUGE WIN. If there’s a card you want, You can earn it nomatter your skill level…Now, As far as the outrage that it’s not fair that players that can make WS or go 12-0 get a sellable version - It’s absolutely fair…It’s hard to go 12-0, It’s hard to make WS. Doing so SHOULD earn you something extra. This is fair for all parties. You do get something extra, a 90+ card that sells for 150k stubs. That's a $100 value. The only thing this will do is drive more people away from online.

If they're going to be non-sellable they need to lower the entry cost or at the least give more stubs along the way to compensate the avg-poor players for the ton of stubs they will lose grinding the program. I hate this change and the one in ranked just like it. Makes me not want to play online at all. I'll never go 12-0 or reach 900 so I see this as a big middle finger from SDS

I have no intention of touching ranked because of this change, now I just might not touch BR either. BR program requirements should be lowered by 75% if it's going to be no sell. The changes to drive people to buy stubs and cater to 1% like these no-sell packs are really souring me on this game.

May 22, 2023, 11:14 PM@TripleH-4481 said in B/R. Now: Yep, it’s gonna be nothing but the elite players sooner than later. Simply not worth the time investment for the majority of the player base. I feel like quite a few people have already packed it on on this year’s game burned out by the crazy long grinds, expensive gluttony of premium packs, and non sellable rewards. I completely agree with this. They took 3 steps backward in regard to rewards, and difficulty. The game is just to much of a grind, and too stingy with stubs and rewards. They should have posted a big sign when you start up the game saying " Casual Players not Welcome "

I find the explanation infuriating for the change to Ranked and BR. More snobbish elitism. The basic answer is only those who go 12-0 or make 900 should have stubs. Nobody else is allowed only the 1% is allowed to get richer in stubs. The program is not cost-efficient enough for an average to causal player to do the program. You lose too many stubs with 100 million stubs per attempt cost to enter the BR Program. The stupid pack you get for each entry gives about 150-250 stubs back normally max. This explanation will not help anything but will further divide between snobbish elites and everyone else. Even if those who go 12-0 or make 900 are not snobbish elites, that is the impression. Taking away from those in the middle to bottom to cater to those at the very top seldom goes over well. Take away the ability for anyone to sell or reverse this decision is the only fair answer.

I refuse to watch, what feels like a 5 minute cut scene interview after every game. Because it seems to take as long as the game. SDS really seems intent on ruining all the fun they can this year.

I'll never go 12-0 or reach 900 so I see this as a big middle finger from SDS BR is not intended to be played by the casual player. It was always intended to the most competitive game mode in the game. SDS only made the program to appeal to the casual gamer. Those who go 12-0 do t play the mode for the program. They’re playing it for the competition and the elite rewards that go along with the competition. All you want is to have what you don’t deserve. Elite rewards. The 90+ card for going 12-0 nets almost 150k stubs. That's a $100 value. There is your reward. If they keep going down this path then fewer and fewer people will play online. You can't have it both ways. You want people of all skill levels playing online then it has to be worth it for them.

I wish they would take a page out of the Show 21 book in regard to TA and conquest. The rewards and grind were fantastic 2 years ago. Perfectly balanced. The rewards are just sad in comparison and the grind is too long.

Utterly ridiculous. I agree. They are taking every method to make stubs away. This is 100% a snobbish elite and greed issue.

May 24, 2023, 7:12 AM@Dolenz said in Ranked and BR Change Explanation: I have used the phrase before and I am sure that I will use it again. Aggressive Monetization. Everything about this years game seems to be pushing people to buy stubs. 99's in very expensive packs that are sold for a very short time, ensuring their rarity and higher prices. Expiration dates on cards, which means you may have to pay a lot of stubs for a 99 of you favorite players multiple times. No Sell POTM cards No Sell BR program rewards Pitiful Stubs payouts in programs, moments, and now Showdowns. In showdown you used to be able to make your stubs back after three or four bosses. Not so in the Kaiju showdown. So more expensive cards than ever before + less opportunities to earn stubs = Aggressive Monetization. I really hope SDS sees this post. I couldn't have said it better.

Except for last year, I normally would play this game between 1000-1250 hours per year. Last year I played only around 750 hours. It just seemed to be more money-focused, too much for me. Ever since it went from a PS exclusive to being on every console it just seems to have gotten more and more money and online focused every year. So far this year I have 153 hours played. I'm struggling mightily with staying interested in the game with the speed of a sloth xp progress. I hate online play. I'm just struggling to play because of the very things you have stated OP and the push of packs. It just doesn't feel rewarding to play for me. It's just not fun.

@Firestormx I thought about that too tbh but like I've said in a few different threads now it was after midnight and I was tired so I just decided not to pick either option and go to bed, then this morning both were at 0 anyway so idk. Think I'm gonna log off from here for a bit cuz I keep getting frustrated as we're all just going in circles here and no update from SDS yet... Thank you all for your input though and I'm glad that many of you are okay, hopefully those of us who aren't will be soon
No worries. Frustrating day for sure. As I said, I think it's terrible wording. Your account suddenly has 0 level and 0 stubs and needs to be reset to where it was. But the way they go about it gives you a heart attack if you don't realize what it's actually saying.

May 24, 2023, 2:17 AM@baseball229056 said in Ranked and BR Change Explanation: I like the change. The way it was before, there was no value in the reward cards. I think the ws rewards last season were going for about 40k. There should be some incentive and reward for doing something good in the game. Not everyone should get a trophy. Then add something like a stub voucher or a chance at a chase pack reward to the 90+ reward that only those going 12-0 get. Add the 90+ pack as well to going 900 in ranked. To take away from the majority to cater to those at the top is the wrong direction.
