Somebody at SDS needs to get FIRED!!!

Spoiler aler...they don't care. That's why we have no game play patches despite all the problems. They are spending their time making more stupid fantasy cards trying to squeeze more money out of little Timmy's mom's credit card.

I swear everytime i try to give this game the benefit of the doubt they screw it up. This year was nothing more than the same recycled graphics (IGN mentioned that on their review as well) and the repetitiveness that makes me feel like im still playing MLB the Show 17 but in 2021 oh! And let me not even speak on the commentary, seriously? You guys are so busy retouching old graphics that nobody seems to care that the commentators not only repeat the same thing i've been hearing since 2009 but even repeating the same lines in the same Match lol. "And it is Gone! A Homerun!" "And just like that, this ballgame is tied" i mean come on guys? I do understand we just came from a pandemic and maybe studios werent able to work for a while but you guys have been doing this since forever i mean to see any changes in graphics or motions you'l have to be purchasing the game every 4 years and the changes arent even that good!... i seriously believe you guys have gotten way to confortable with being the only studio that makes a MLB because i really think if you guys still had 2k as a competitor and you guys were making the games you guys are now, they would've been smoking ya in sales! And to think that back then you guys were way better than them but comparing what they do with their NBA games year after year you guys are slacking!... thats all ill say, and i get many people are okay with the flaws and justify the lack in progress with the cross-play and blah blah but i seriously believe if you guys werent ready i would have rather wait a year or even extra months to pay for a videogame that seems half complete to me.... and please fix the freeze offs

I don't think that they ever claimed that all freeze glitches were fixed did they?

I know that they fixed, or at least tried to fix, one specific sequence that players could do to consistently to freeze the game.

My guess is that unless someone can specifically give them the steps that happened leading to the freeze off that they are going to find it difficult to find these simply by looking at the code since they don't probably generate any error codes for them to track.

Yeah do you work for SDS or something? Because theres no justification why did is happening. People waste their money and time on this game, do you not see how annoying it is to finally have a winning streak and have it blown by a feeeze-off. Im currently on a freeze-off as we speak so that speaks as to the frequency in which this happens. If the game is not ready for release why release it? Oh wait i know why? MONEY. Imagine we had another studio making a baseball game this studio would sink for sure because other than the recycled graphics and the repetitiveness now you cant even have a good record based on skill because a bunch of my losses come from freeze-offs.

In all fairness you are completely right, i should probably wait for more info before judging but to answer your question "What were you expecting?" Well i am expecting a more polished experience, i understand that now they're working on different platforms but that doesnt mean im trying the play MLB the Show 2020 with a new tittle all over again just because 'this has been a challenging year' again! I will wait for more content and will not judge, but a New game is exactly what that means "NEW" not the same recycled junk with a few tweaks. thanks for your feedback much appreciated and stay safe out there

You just wrote more stuff then anything they have shown of mlb ts 21 yet. They don't start releasing videos of gameplay until next Month. And they haven't shown anything with the next gen ps5 stuff yet. Maybe you should wait for the game to at least get to an Alpha stage before you judge it. Preferably wait until it is actually finished.

Please don't compare this game to the polished [censored] that is the Madden Franchise.

I wish you luck with your passion that is MLB. I don't see much that will sway you as any expectations for a major redevelopment of the existing engine is unfair this year..Given the pandemic, getting XBox running alone was a major accomplishment.

Hello Everyone, ill try and make this quick! Haha... last year i made a topic about the improvements i was expecting to see from "MLB The Show 21" you guys can find that one in my profile.... i have seen the little snippets of gameplay you guys have put out and i couldn't have been more dissapointed!.. i was excited not only for a New MLB game (specially since i didn't purchase 'The Show 20' because the changes weren't worth the 60$) "Sorry San Diego‍️ Just being honest".. but i was also excited because you guys have so much more space for creativity because of the new consoles! So you can only guess what my feelings were when i see the gameplay and it looks exactly like "MLB The Show 18"..yes! 18!!! Because 18 looks just like 19 and 19 looks just like 20 and so on unfortunately... to be honest and to give you guys the benefit of the doubt, and for my sake i hope thats not the final product and if it is! At least you guys fixed enough in the mechanics to make me completely forget about the graphics, maybe you guys fixed the announcements and added more realism and less repetition.. or maybe when i hit a homerun this time i can actually see and feel the strenght of the player as he pounds that ball into oblivion? Or maybe just maybe! You guys brought back a Franchise mode worth playing for once in a decade??? Maybe!!! Or Maybe its just the same old game with a different title!.... like i said in my last post "its time for a change" and if i see none with this game then i guess ill see you guys next year and hopefully you pick up the slack!! Because at this point i think that even "2k Sports" would compete with you guys if they decide to come back, considering what they've done for their NBA games in the same amount of time you have failed to bring any innovative changes to your MLB games.....

Maybe im being too Harsh or maybe im wrong! But god knows i would love to be proven wrong!! You guys have 2 months to make this game what we expect it to be if its not there already! I've been a fan since 2006 and saw how you guys drove every othwr mlb game competition off the map but now it seems that due to the lack of competition, you guys have failed to give us the changes we so much crave in our beloved MLB the show. Its sad to be compared to the likes of Madden!! And i really do hope im proven wrong this time... i wish everyone at San Diego studios good health in this time of pandemic and good fortune in your endeavors!! With that being said, Give Us The Show!!!!!!!!!

I went all in on '19 and have seen the changes through out the whole season. I've know about all the good and bad, tweaks and the flaws of '19. When they are the only MLB game out ( I don't consider those RBI games competition) just like Madden is the only NFL game, I never expect real changes or improvements made from one year to the next
Skipping 1, or 2 or even 3 years between buying the game is a smart choice

I couldn’t agree more! Thats why im still playing 19! And you’re right, this one has better improvements.

I dont mind the Buttons, i just want to feel the player’s alive when swinging and the animation transitions like when the computer realizes i just hit a Homer you can see arent sharp enough. Its 2020! We need realism

The truth of the matter is, since 2014 or around 2015 i’ve felt the every new MLB The Show game that has been released it’s literally a copy of the previous year but with some minor tweaks and each year we get less and less of what used to make this game “The Most Realistic Baseball Game” i mean it’s not like they have any competition, since not even 2K makes baseball games anymore. I am not trying to bring our extraordinary people at San Diego Studios down, i am not but as a loyal consumer of this product i thought i should give you guys and honest opinion on these boards since i see alot! And i mean alot! Of videos on Youtube pointing out what i was already thinking “Time For a Change!

I will try to make this quick now, so yeah Graphics kinda do improve a bit each year but where i see the slowest progress are the animations! To give San Diego credit i think around 2017 i complained about the batting swings lookin too generic and MLB the show 2019 made those swing look more solid and powerfull and for that San Diego i praise you! The batters now look like they have more power behind the swings and i hope you keep focusing on that. Another things are sounds! Am i the only one who plays this game soo much you start hearing the same commentary over and over again its annoying. I mean these commentators literally say the same things since like MLB the show 2014! It’s Ridiculous. If im playing on the show i want to hear about how good i did last year or how bad or where the commentators think i will be in the future REALISM!. Also the sound of the ball hitting the bat! Could have more variations as should the crowd!!! I want to feel the crowds excitement and ferocity when hitting a walk off homerun in game 7 of the World Series. And road to the show!! Where do i start! Well tbh i like where we’re at with RTS, i just think it lacks the drama and excitement of a player making it big in the leagues! I mean come on! Give us a little story! I swear you guys would kill the league with that! And last but not least Franchise Mode! For this ill start off with a question?. Whats the whole point of having a good season, statistically if! I cant even spend the money my team earns? I mean seriously dudes! The old mlb the show games used to let me even set the prices for my tickets or parking lot and all the cool stuff that would make earning money more exciting and realistic!. I have so much more grievances but to be fair i don’t expect all of these to happen in a years time! But i know if you guys listen to us! The public, you guys are going to get nothing but praise. Im playing MLB the show 19 as we speak and the reason i am playing a older one its because i have come to purchase the game every 2 years now and the reason i do it it’s Because i dont feel the changes from one year to another are worth it at the moment! But that can change! With that being said. To San Diego Studios team! Thank you for all the endless hours i have enjoyed in this series and also thanks for even having this board where you can really connect with the community. I know you guyss heard me once!!! And one of the reasons i love 19 the show its because of the batting changes. (Still not perfect, but going in the right direction).
