People only dislike 20 because they aren't as good as they think they are

Buncha whiners about everything you all are, seriously. The difficulty settings are as fair as it gets. Something like 10% of players can hit well on HOF. I also calculated that about only 300 people on the world can hit even something like .250 on legend. This game does a fine enough job towards the best of the best while not alienating the largest player base that actually makes them money.

You just basically said 18 was the worst and every other year was bad too. Insightful.
-
The pitch speeds look super slow, I hope this is on veteran difficulty or something. I don't want another mlb 18 fiasco where you can't throw a fastball the whole game.
-
I want to know if they will do 1080p at 120 fps
-
I think no baseball season has hurt sales from casuals.
-
You might open up the game a year from now and want to use those stubs some way some how. What is the point in buying packs of cards you dont need?
I went back to mlb the show 17 for a while a year ago and was glad I saved my stubs.
-
The pitch speeds are super slow. Go into batting practice and turn the difficulty all the way up to legend, and still be early on every fastball
-
Take out all rng please. This stream was gross. They showed nothing about hitting, and basically showed how crazy rng is on pitching is even when you get a perfect release.
-
Yep, the pitch speeds look disgustingly slow, even for all-star. I'm guessing they only get fast enough on legend. I hate this. Get ready to see 95% offspeed pitches all game long.
-
Yeah man, play the Rockies or the Orioles on rookie at Coors Field all day every day, go crazy, no one is stopping you.
-
Yes, I completed showdown a couple days ago and had 10 vouchers, I tried exchanging them all but the last one was locked in

Early swings are way too over powered. An early swing on an outside pitch should be a rolled over grounder, not a pulled flyball homerun by Aaron Judge. That alone is a deal breaker for this game. Fix that, and increase pitch speeds, and it would be much better. Also, make locating pitches a lot easier. I think 50% of fixing hitting is fixing pitching and pitch speeds.

20 has the most skill. Its because of covid that there are just so many people that put a lot of hours in that it created a lot of depth in the higher divisions. Covid really impacted the game this year imo

If you want to be good h2h you need a monitor or a nice tv. I bought a cheap $70 monitor for mlb 17 and right away made the jump from 5-600's to 800's + The lag on my tv was so bad previously there was a ceiling I couldn't break thru. Just food for thought
What specs should I look for? Thinking about getting a 32 inch monitor. What’s the specs that help with this game? Any info is appreciated!!
The specs are 10ms input lag and 1ms response time. You will mostly find these specs in 24 inches, but a few pricier 27 inches exist. You can buy a brand new zowie rl2455hm monitor for $150. Use rtings.com or display lag websites to find the make of the monitor to see if its specs are good enough.

Nobody talks about gameplay but there are a few new things that are really good. Contact hitters can now be used again, they can slap the ball around the field. They reward early swings less, especially on outside pitches. You also can't check swing every pitch. The pitches seem to have more break too. So yeah, a lot of big gameplay changes making it much different than 20.

I agree the game is way too hard to hit on HOF. Today I won 4 of 5 while batting .217. I batted over .300 easy the last 3 years.
The pitch speeds are too fast. The timing window for good swings is tiny, and they dont reward good contact enough. There are still "good" "okays" on great placed pci's.
If the game keeps playing like this I will probably quit soon.

Geez, I can't believe how terrible the advice still is on monitors. Please do your research before you buy. The most important aspect is INPUT LAG. You want a monitor with 10 ms input lag or less. In this case the Viotek monitor has 10 ms input lag, so you are good to go
Also, 144 hz is useless, because the framerate on ps4 games can't go high enough. All you need is a 60 hz monitor.
The ps5 comes out soon, so that may need higher hz than 60, we will see if game devs prioritize frame rate over graphics. I doubt any ps5 games go above 60 fps too

LS Seager and Soto, because their swings are so money.
