Passed on the game this year

Curious how the game is looking / playing. I moved-on to other games to get my competitive fix & have a lot more consistent fun. I do miss baseball tho. I’d check out streams for the game .. but the content creators are so incredibly cringe, or begging for subs, etc. All I’ve really noticed on here (with little very little browsing) is stuff about servers.
Guess what I’m most curious about is how the head-to-head gameplay is? If I buy the game, I’d more-so casually grind DD, events, BR, some ranked. Thoughts about maybe a game-changing potential patch, like previous years? Is the game a super RNG-fest? What’s the upside / downside of the gameplay? Any insight helps.
Appreciate anybody that takes the time to reply.

The game is unplayably horrible, even offline.

The 4 day early access was great. The pin point pitching is good once you get used to it. Haven't really played ranked seasons or BR. I was grinding out the showdown to get the first stage of team affinity done.

Gameplay is fine for DD, better than 20 at least for now. All the issues are server related. Ask again in a week or so IMO

Nobody talks about gameplay but there are a few new things that are really good. Contact hitters can now be used again, they can slap the ball around the field. They reward early swings less, especially on outside pitches. You also can't check swing every pitch. The pitches seem to have more break too. So yeah, a lot of big gameplay changes making it much different than 20.

I like some YT'ers, but yeah, the beg for likes and subs is so selfish.
And the classic line 'of course, before you watch, hit the like button'
Huh?
I thought reviews are given after the event?
And the thumbnail pictures.....that look when you're getting your doik soiked 🤪
.....or if you won the Lottery..... -
The game has alot of bugs like not counting Ballplayer progression in RTTS, which is absolutely not server related. So it's definitely not just the servers, though that is obviously the glaring problem/ dumpster fire.

The game looks and plays amazing. It does look slightly upgraded on next gen. The lighting looks great, the face scans are incredible, the environment, the field and dirt look amazing. It’s never looked and played that’s great. There are a bunch of little bugs, and other things like sounds of the show being removed that suck. I highly recommend getting it. And I’ve played this game yearly since 2008. I’m sure they will have the sever issues figured out in time.
