I see people continue to clamor for Jeter, and I just don't get it. Is it just because he was able to win many championships? In MLBTS he would just be essentially Rod Carew... a contact hitter with below average power, defense and speed. Again, I'm not trying to offend anyone, I just don't get why everyone wants him when there would be more fun options to use in game as new legends because their card stats would be better, like say, Adrian Beltre.

Yes, I echo everything already said. Also, it might seem small, but the game presentations could be improved. Being able to have different engines, all with their own type of presentation like ESPN, FOX, and CBS. And maybe like FS1 for playoffs or something. Being able to use Statcast, a better regression system for players and doubleheaders. More fan interaction in the stands, actual ejections from arguing, specializing pitchers to 7th and 8th innings. International pool money and a PTBNL option. Ofc all of the rebrand/relocation/expansion and actual financial control like promotions. FAN INTENSITY DURING MOMENTS LIKE "9th inning, playoffs, walkoffs, historic moments( a players 3000th K or 500th homerun)". A RALLY squirrel and cat. 3 team trades. Hiring financial advisors, mentors, etc. Having celebrities throw first pitches, the WBC. A better wrap up show like a "MLB tonight" where we could see videos of those other moments across the league. Logic to not have all of the games be simulated before yours starts (Ex. If I play in Tampa at 7:30 a game in Colorado at 9:05 should not finish before mine barring a major rain delay, which would not happen since Tampa is domed). I could go on forever.

Have a great day!

Ohhhhh maybe Roy Halladay!

As a guy whose main squad is a Phillies theme team I would love Bobby too!

1.) Madden does have relocation, not really expansion.
2.) Well to find a way around the inability of SDS for quality franchise content, what I've done is I've rebranded a team at the season, release everyone, and literally take two players from each team in free agency, and intentionally draft horribly in the first year. Then the second year is essentially as close as expansion as possible with MLBTS. New team, new stadium, new design, and sign new staff so I can try to do what SDS couldn't- expansion. -
Alright, thanks. Can't wait.
-
Any ideas for not only who could be in the second inning, but what program they could be? (Prime, Signature, All Star)
-
Being a guy who plays all 162 games, I'd love to see more game themes. If they can get the rights to the ESPN, FS1, TBS score bugs, it would be really nice to change it up every once in a while. Also, more stadiums would be nice, so some ideas I have for some would be:
Kingdome, Astrodome, Qualcomm/Jack Murphy Stadium, Riverfront Stadium, Municipal Stadium, Milwaukee County Stadium, Veterans Stadium, 3 Rivers Stadium, Candlestick, Olympic, and the old Tiger and Busch stadiums -
Yessss I sure hope we get one.

@ViatorLion10 said in I got a beef with the dynamic potential system:
As we all know, MLB The Show has a dynamic potential system where player potentials can go up or down based on their performance on the field.
However, I've got a little beef with it since it doesn't always make a lot of sense.
I'm doing an Orioles rebuild franchise, and there's a couple guys who I don't think have been done right by this system.
Anthony Santander has quickly become one of my most reliable assets, but his potential still sits at only 76. In four seasons he's slashed:
.250/.299/413
.267/.320/.439
.265/.330/.403
And then the big year came:
.318/.373/.516A massive 4th season (6th in service time) at age 28, and yet no potential change to show for it. Solid performances in those first three seasons coupled with a huge 4th season would seemingly indicate a potential change.
On the prospect side of things, I drafted a kid by the name of Delmon McClure in the 5th round of the 2020 draft. He only had 69 potential, but throws absolute gas (97mph fastball and 91mph slider) and was only 18 so I wanted to see if I could bust that potential cap. His first season was decent, but not outstanding. However, his next two seasons he was on "fire" most of the season as my AA closer. Yet no potential changes at all. I'm not saying he should suddenly be an "80", but a couple points would make sense.
On the flip side of things, there's a couple guys I thought should lose potential and haven't. I pushed Ryan Mountcastle too quickly into the majors and he's sputtered to a career .234/.311/.383 in about 3 and a half seasons of service time, yet he's still an 83 potential. Another example is Austin Hays. In my first two seasons he slashed .237/.296/.402 and .229/.288/.377 with no potential drop. However, his last two seasons he slashed .251/.315/.429 and .265/.317/.488 and is now 28 years old. My thought is that a more efficient system would have dropped his potential during those first two season, but then maybe raised it after that 4th season. His first two seasons had him looking like a defense first regular OF, which shouldn't correspond with an 88 potential. The poor performance on the field should drop his potential, and the more he struggles, the more rapidly it should drop. Unless he turns it around (which he eventually did), his potential should eventually meet his current overall (he shouldn't get worse than he his, but he shouldn't get better).
Right now I think the potential system still acts too rigid and linearly. It's not fluid like real life potential is for players where sometimes top prospects crash and burn and unknown guys turn into all stars (the example I always use for this one is Willson Contreras for the Cubs).
Anyways that's my gripe. Curious to see if others have had questionable experiences with the dynamic potential system as well.
Yeah, I follow you there. In my franchises I see guys raking and winning cy youngs in their 2nd year with no potential change. Some guys hitting above .300 and lose potential points for some reason. They need a better system for this.

True, both were beasts that year. I chose Ramirez since I think he's more underrated, but Soriano would be a beast too since he can run, especially if he has 2B as a secondary, that would be great defense.

Nice! These rosters are really well put together!
-
Yeah I've encountered this a few times unfortunately

@Jayrred24 said in What Could Make The Show More Realistic:
-
Bring Back the "Gameday Promotion" feature and have different choices such as Bobble heads (When you pick Bobble head or any promo that your players can be involved in then your players list comes up and you pick the Players Jersey, Bobble head, Etc. For that games promo), Jersey, Future game tickets, T-shirts, $1 hot dog, Bat Give away, Hat give away, (If you win the world series) Replica Ring giveaway, Team Calendar, ball giveaway, Family Ticket/food deal, Rally Towel in the post season, post game fireworks, or have a list of classic players and pick 1 or 2 that can do a signing,Etc.
-
Bring back the buisness side of it such as TV/Radio Deals, Ticket Pricing, Parking Prices, food Pricing, merch pricing, Sponsorships, types of food you buy players (can increase or decrease morale), Stadium renovations (Add/remove seats, New Scoreboard, Grass/lawn/ (makes it easier/harder on players to play on), training room upgrades, Stadium restaurant/services upgrades (draws in more fans), player training services (help increase attributes
-
Ejections. Kinda like the NCAA games based on how many times and how fast you can repeatedly press the X button is how mad you get and if you get mad enough and stay out long enough you get tossed. Should be done for Players and Coaches
-
Bench clearing brawls it doesn't have to show punches being thrown just the players running into the group where it just looks like pushing and shoving
-
Do Training like training is done in the NBA 2K series, schedule practices and what will be worked by each position that day. it'd easier, faster, and alot more fun than having to do EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in your entire organization
-
If the rights can be purchased use more broadcast types than Just MLB Network. Use ESPN, FS1, FSN, any of the local channel's, or if possible use all the teams actual channel's (I.E Oakland Athletics CSNBA) which would Tie in to the TV deal feature
-
Better relocation feature. It makes no sense to have a relocation feature but you're gonna play in an already used stadium? Isn't that the point of moving is a new stadium? Make it to where you have to make deals with the city to move or rebuild your stadium in your current city.
-
Just cause its so important it needs it own, CREATE-A-STADIUM. This is probably the MOST asked for feature and "The Show" has failed to provide. Make it in depth. Yiu get a budget to rebuild or relocate and make a new stadium for your team. The budget would go towards Seating, Capacity, building design, how many/what/where concession stands will go, How Many/What/Where will merch stands be, How Many bathrooms and how nice is it and what amenities does it have?, Parking, Training facility for players, Medical Facility for players, Design the Clubhouse for players (however it is and whatever you do will affect Player, Coaches, and staffs morale)
-
Make the Televised games more realistic with better cut scenes such as Player and coaches actual interviews (give create-a-player a feature where you can pick his voice so he can talk too im Franchise mode) shoe them coming out of the clubhouse and Show them warming up for a few minutes (if people dont want to see this they can just skip or put on Hybrid mode) do post game interviews for player of the game, show the players walking back to clubhouse after game, signing autographs for fans (with an actual pen in their hand unlike all the tine when something gets "signed" during a mini cut scene the player doesnt have a one), also do Press conferences where you can talk as a GM, Coach, or player and whatever you say effects everything from Clubhouse Morale to fan attendance
-
Make scouting a little more in depth
-
Let retired players turn to coaches after retiring in franchise mode
-
Let teams suspend or fine players for breaking team rules
-
Make the crowd more like fans and less like Robots
-
For the All-Star game players should wear their teams actual Jersey's like they do in the actual All-Star game
-
When teams Clinch Division, Wild Card, Berth, NLDS/ALDS, NLCS/ALCS, And World Series make the celebration cut scenes Realistic and not just generic. Show them partying, dancing, spraying champagne (with their goggles and winning shirts and hats on), while reporters are taking pictures and asking questions. That cut scene has literally been the same since the first MLB The Show 06.
-
MAKE RAIN DELAYS/POSTPONED GAMES A REAL THING! Let a game get rained out and they have to make it up by playing a double header
-
Give certain teams a replica of their die hard fans and what they do WHILE the game is played (I.E Oaklands Right Field Bleacher fans or Seattle's First base foul line fans)
-
Have a "show" that's like sports center but just for baseball in franchise mode where it can show a "Top 10 Plays" for that day.
What Realistic features other than gameplay, would you guys like to see in MLB The Show's Franchise mode?
Wish i myself could promote you as game dev. To add, if the all star game would be realistically in different cities each year would be nice. The presentation could be better. Certain parts of the broadcasts where they can go over a stadium's history, the team's history, spotlight a legendary player, put up all time stats mid-game. Love the new stadiums aspect, would love to be able to set the team logos back to what they were before. Rally squirrels! Scenes of the outside of the ballpark before the game starts. Alternating announcers (Verducci, Ravech, Flores, Rose, Byrnes, Lowell) and field reporters that can be found in places throughout the stadium (dugouts, restaurants, other attractions), "suspensions" for PEDs, a realistic scouting stream where an international draft pool is SEPARATE than the first year player draft. Personality traits on players, coaches, and being able to bring players, staff to your office as a GM to talk to them. In all honesty, someone on their dev team should play OOTP and get back to us soon.

I've gotten absolutely none in the post game rewards, highest being a Joc Pederson. But I'm happy for you and hope you use him well!
-
SDS isn't planning to add anything into Franchise mode. It's been the same for years. Sorry for the blunt response, and I hope they prove me wrong, but it's just not happening.

If it's a new Jays player could it be Jeff Kent?
I would think he gets a Giants card instead, but maybe...

I echo most of what you've said. I've always been one who wants a genuine broadcast-feel experience, and so more broadcasters who can rotate would be something I'd enjoy, as with new "gamebugs" (the part of the screen with the score, runners on base...). I'm not sure if you mean trading draft picks like is done in nfl or nba, but in baseball I think you can only trade compensatory picks, and there a few rules to even that process, so I'm not sure if I agree there. I'd love to see a screen when you're drafting of player comparisons to modern and/or retired players.
