Blocking stat doesn't really matter unfortunately. His arm is ok, better than Piazzas. If you start anyone with a sub 85 arm str you should have an elite arm on your bench in case you run into base running cheese or its a close game and someone gets a speedster on

I'm probably in the minority here, but last year I didn't really love Honus. He was good, but I never found him to be great. There also weren't a ton of great SS options last year so his speed, defense and bat made him the best option aside from maybe a CAP. In my opinion his greatest asset was his versatility because he could play everywhere aside from catcher.
This year there's so many great SS options that Honus kind of gets lost in the mix. Most players by now have the free 99 Tatis, and the 250k price tag that Honus brings is likely just not worth it to a lot of people - myself included.
As a bench bat I suppose he's pretty useful, but when you compare him to the other 2 bosses (Foxx and Jansen) and look at his cost against free 99's like J-Ram, Mondesi, and Turner (who all have the same versatility and are arguably better cards) there's likely not going to be a lot of people who choose Honus, regardless of how you felt about him last year.
TBF J-Ram isn't "free", selling off the Topps Now cards that it requires to get him would probably be pretty close to "break even" if you bought Honus with those stubs
He doesn't cost you anything if you get all the packs from moments. Yes you can sell those cards, but there's no upfront cost.
That's like saying "I won a free Corvette, but it's not free because I could sell it for 50k." You won a Corvette, what you choose to do with it is irrelevant.
Sure but selling these cards and then buying Honus , you could also get Honus for "free"

I'm really surprised people are still buying stubs at this point, with the game starting to get stale as well as the giant stub inflation there has been.

foxx hands down
Foxx can't through the ball to 2nd base and get it past the pitcher.
I'm not saying this is you but...
I love the people that say this and then say they'd much prefer Mike Piazza. Piazza has a worse arm

I'm actually starting to move back into the opinion that vision does matter. I strikeout significantly more with Tatis (80 vision, 23% strikeout rate), and Trout (86 vision, 21.6% strikeout rate) then a guy like Mickey Mantle (94 vision, 15.6% strikeout rate).
So in general, with a guy like Chipper having 102 and 112 vision may not matter all that much, but there is a point where it does start to affect the card.
Yeah for like 2/3rds of the game life it felt as though Vision didn't matter......for the last couple of months with the pitches being juiced though I've feeling the difference now

Damm. He wasn’t on the webpage until 12:00. I can’t imagine I ever get him this far back in line haha
Yeah this sucks for those of us who actually have to work. By the time I could get on the webpage for their stupid "store update" there were well over 200 orders already

If these cards are sellable or even able to be quicksold the market will go to hell....honestly it does actually feel like we're all but done with the year. Would have preferred this dropped after Postseason/Finest...

This is my first year playing and I’m not very good. However, I try really hard and won’t quit, which is why I have completed all the programs. I’ve tried this Showdown Extreme about 100 times by now and need help from the community - I cannot beat Pearson (I can hardly touch him).
The questions I have:
- Against Pearson, do you start with your PCI somewhere other than the middle?
- Are you looking for a certain location first?
- Is there any other advice you might have for me? (this has been painful)
Thank you to all those who participate here and help others. I don’t write much, but I’m always reading and getting tips from you guys.
Get to Pearson in the showdown then...
Do the extreme moment where you need 8 hits 2 xbh and 5 runs.
Bat the top of the 1st, then restart. Do this over and over until you feel you're getting good timing and placement, who cares if you have to do it 100 times.
Once you feel good go ahead and face him in the showdown.

I understand that people want Pujols, Chipper, Mays, Griffey, Foxx etc. but it seems like a waste of time to complain that guys like Goldschmidt get a card. SDS obviously has a plan for those guys
I'm glad they "clearly have a plan" but its nearly October and this is a baseball game, soooo

Legend Game Moment:
Went up 3-0 in the first, RNG sets in and none of my hits actually go anywhere, Lou Gherig hits a bomb in the bottom of the ninth to tie it up 3-3 and I end up losing in the bottom of the 15th on an error.
Loaded it up immediately after and beat them 12-2, chasing Nate Pearson in the 1st inning....some days RNG just wants to F you and there's not much you can do

I've always found that there is no better defense of "wtf is WAR" when you have two very respectable baseball statistic sites that come up with different WAR numbers for the exact same player in the same year.
It feels like some advanced statisticians went down a rabbit hole and aren't sure how to get out so stick by it.

This was a pretty short sighted horrible idea, imo. You are incentivizing people to watch only select list SDS deemed appropriate. Even worse though you're deincentivizing any streamer not on that list to not stream your game over the weekend as people are actively going to avoid their channels.
Plenty of games are able to turn on drops for all streamers, I think this decision was in poor taste by SDS and honestly inhibits the growth of this community/game.

White Sox and Red Sox both lack the letter “s” at the end.
Well considering "Sox" is a made up word made to sound like socks which has an "s" this was probably not the best example
