The latest buffoonery...a bunt towards 3rd right in front of the plate. 3rd baseman and catcher both race to the ball but I am only allowed to control the pitcher. Can't change to 3B or C, game won't allow it. 3B and C just stand next to the ball and look at it while I have to bring the pitcher all the way over to pick it up. The AI of the fielding is horrible. This engine blows. The fielders are stiff as boards, I have to circle balls in the outfield 3 times for the fielder to pick up the ball when it is still. Balls right behind first in foul territory I can't use the 1B, I have to use the RF who was shifted towards center. Do the developers play the game? This fielding is ok to them? Why can't I use the fielder I want, and also the one who is the logical fielder to use?

Please fix this or blow it up and try something new next year please. Fielding was its best in 2007-2009 on PS3, why is it so much worse now? Can you copy and paste that code into this years game?

Also, people complain about how good the computer fielding is. I don't mind that, but what I do mind is the same players aren't capable of making those same plays for me. They react way to slow, by the time I'm allowed to control the infielder the ball is already right up on him usually unless it is a very slow hit. Please let us control the fielders, as the game is very linear in the field. More open world with the fielding please!

In the 150 Show packs I just opened, I got 1 diamond...a Corbin Burnes Threads card.

Yes, the 3 Chase packs players totaled about 25k in the 3 guaranteed diamonds, but for 225k, that's a little light in the loafers.

Before you start, yes, I understand odds, etc. But 1 in 150 on 1:50 odds is still pretty bad. Especially when its a 16k card. If you don't have money to flush down the toilet, there's a good chance it's soon to be on its way to the sewage treatment facility.

Several issues I have with the fielding:

1. I often don't get the best fielder to make the play. Balls hit into the hole 2 feet to the right of the 3rd baseman (his left) and it will give me the SS or sometimes LF. Bunts just to the right of the pitcher it will not allow me to grab the pitcher (or change to him) as he will just sprint to first and run right over the ball. Same with some popups in shallow centerish. Shallow center between 2B and CF will often give me my bumbling RF.
2. I get the reaction time for lesser fielders, but this isn't the way to do it. Having a fielder just stand and stare at a ball go by that it 2 feet from him is very frustrating as he refuses to move at all even though I am telling him to. Slow moving, fine...totally ignoring my command to move is very annoying.
3. The fielders often feel clunky and unathletic. Yes, I get that some fielders actually are as I said...but smoother movements would be nice. You've had fielding perfect before (2007,2008,2009ish), but it feels like the wheel always gets reinvented. The old animations were smoother and not as all-consuming where it completely takes over the player.

Fielding has been fun at times in the past, it would be nice to feel like I have more control of them.

The fielding is the only major frustration I'm having this year, everything else has been very good. (No, it isn't just because I suck and don't know what fielder to use). It's the game that often doesn't know which fielder to use which I assume is an easy fix.

Apparently it was Veteran. I played all-star and the bats are cracking. Veteran still not happenin.

It got much worse after the update Tuesday. Seemed fine to me before that. Since the update, no pop in the bats whatsoever.

Edit: Playin all-star the hitting seems fine. Veteran apparently was nerfed.

I was enjoying the game, then all of a sudden with this update it's all cans of corn and ground balls. A well hit ball may make it just short of the warning track most of the time. I had 9 games straight with no home runs (3 inning mini seasons) after hitting aplenty before the update. I have been playing on veteran, so HOF/legends folks you may not have been affected. But clearly, there is a big change. The CPU pitching has also changed as even with a 3-0 count its rare I get a good pitch to hit now. The only good change Tuesday is now the CPU hits better. But with me unable to hit with any power now it isn't so great. Also, the crack of the bat is now a little tap sound unless its perfect.
