Do people know it’s possible to stop playing a game, without some grand announcement? Don’t want to play the game anymore? Don’t play it. Why the goodbye speech?

I don't get the uproar over this. What's the difference if everyone has all 85s or all 97-99s? It's still an even playing field roster wise.

Showdowns usually don't give me too much trouble. If I don't beat them the first time, it usually doesn't take me more than a couple of tries. This one is annoying and I do good just to get to the Rogers showdown. I guess I'll give it another go eventually.

I’m talking about DD any non player locked mode against the CPU. I’m not sure about online because I don’t play that enough. I’m holding L1 the whole time and the game will automatically hold the runner from rounding second and going to third. It doesn’t do it every time but probably like 60% of the time. I hit one to the power alley at Polo Grounds, with Cedric Mullins, and it held him at second.

And when it does it I can’t override it even though I’m holding L1.

Not sure what the deal is.

i know exactly what you are talking about - against the CPU - stupid [censored] missions which have CPU runners preventing you from running to the next bag - yes it is stupid as hell

while we are on the subject too - what is with that Topps Now Heany moment - strike 3 guys in the side - ok EASY AS A CONCEPT - except SDS puts a 99 RUNNER ON FIRST BASE - so besides trying to K out the side, I have to wonder if my mission is going to tank because the runner STEALS AND GETS PICKED OFF

That's not what I'm talking about. I mean in a Play VS CPU, Conquest, or Mini Season game. I hit something that would most likely be a triple and hold the L1 button (advance all) and the game will automatically hold me at second to keep me from going to third. I swear it happens like 60% of the time.

There's never any context to these rants. Was your pitcher out of gas? Perhaps you were pitching someone the opponent does poorly against and the reliever was the change they needed? Did you get repetitive with your pitches?

Check your settings you might be on assisted which could be causing the overrule

Yep. Pretty much why I never steal. The CPU always knows when you're going and every pitcher seems to have an Andy Pettite pick off move in this game.

People should have an option to complete a program however they choose … shouldn’t be forced to complete something to earn players u pay a game for

There are cards that can only be obtained by doing events, ranked or battle royale (or obviously buying them). What's the difference? I know I'm not good at online, so I know that I won't be getting those cards unless I end up buying them or they put them in some sort of rewind pack as part of a program.

I got a Diamond and it was supposed to be a boss pack. It wasn’t in my pack inventory.

This right here. I can’t stand how you will play a series and face the same exact pitchers in each game and there energy is never depleted.

It’s not going to let you pitch out with no one on base. If you think he’s going to sneak a bunt then just throw outside the zone.

Well it was supposed to be according to sds. Of course I just found out after like 13 games into classic mode that it is indeed not a fix. Kind of annoying.

I love watching pitchers buy time on national television.

I never once went to a baseball game and said "dang that was a good game, but it took too long".

They already have the pitch clock. Maybe if MLB stopped generating TV time outs at every pitching change the game could be back at 3 hours.

2-3 minutes of commercials between innings is obviously not the same as pitchers walking around the mound and batters readjusting batting gloves, scratching their nuts, etc. for 30 seconds between every pitch.

And obviously seeing a game in person is much different than watching one on TV.

I've actually had some success swinging for Contact in online games. This is like a major no-no for The Show players, so you never see it happen. And thus, all you see is a game dominated by homers and strikeouts.

I am ok with not a ton of homers, I just don't like the unrealistic homers. I lost a game on Tony Gwynn hitting a 450 foot bomb once, and no doubt homers on pitches less than an inch off the ground are super rare in real life, but happen way too frequently for my liking online.

That said, I would prefer dealing with a home run contest then a string of cheesers. I am using contact swing based on the count, my success in recognizing where the ball will be going (not good enough at pitch recognition yet), and the batter.

This is where I'm at too. I'm not good online, I know I'm going to lose more than I win. I don't mind giving up HRs on bad pitches or just good pieces of hitting. I just get annoyed when you make a pitchers pitch (sinker, change, curve, splitter 6 inches below the zone, goes from strike to ball, etc) and the opponent just crushes it.

The only thing that bugs me about this is, I already had a TA season going and played like 6-7 more games before getting the error message. Haha, guess I should have just restarted the season.

Still haven't gotten the egg for the mini seasons wins. Heads up, they don't always show up in the post game rewards screen but they'll still be there in the program collection.
