I see the pickoff rule wasn't added

Is this going to be added?

What is this new rule? I missed that one.

Pitchers only get 2 pickoff attempts per AB. If the pitcher steps off the rubber a third time, its a balk

Wow. Talk about a horrible rule. I swear, instead of base runners and batters having to make adjustments they basically want everything handed to them on a silver platter.

Yeah I agree, I also think mlb games should last 5 hours. I love watching pitchers buy time on national television.

I never once went to a baseball game and said "dang that was a good game, but it took too long".
They already have the pitch clock. Maybe if MLB stopped generating TV time outs at every pitching change the game could be back at 3 hours.
-
They explained it in a video. They already have a 2 throw over limit in game. You can only throw over more if person is getting a big lead. And limiting that in DD would be horrible. People would exploit it non stop. So they aren't gonna put it in.
-
I find nothing more toxic than the Jacka** that will take a lead over and over when you show you will pick off or step off.

2-3 minutes of commercials between innings is obviously not the same as pitchers walking around the mound and batters readjusting batting gloves, scratching their nuts, etc. for 30 seconds between every pitch.
And obviously seeing a game in person is much different than watching one on TV.

These rule changes aren’t to appease us. We’re already watching and already generating revenue for the league. They are targeting new people with these changes , hoping to gain revenue in that manner
-
I mean there is a pick off limit in the show, it just resets every time they throw over when you’ve taken an extra step lead.. so…
-
In real mlb you can actually throw 3 times not 2. The catch is you MUST pick them off on the 3rd throw for an out or it is a balk. I am 100% on this. I have mlb extra innings and watch 2-5 games a day.
-
Please note I corrected my typo. Balk not ball.
-
I honestly think these rules will go away after this year. When owners see how much money they lost due to games being 30 minutes shorter, they will put pressure on to remove these rules.

I had one of those yesterday. He tried to bunt cheese and base dance and while I may not be that good of a hitter, I am good at picking off runners and got him once or twice.
The cherry on top was in a 1-0 game my lead in the 3rd he walked with Cobb, stole second easily, stole third because my catcher would not throw for some reason, but he did the huge lead thing you described on third base. I promptly did a pitch out and ran him down for the out.
This was immediately followed by a "friendly quit" request.

But it's not just that. They extend the commercials at least 5 minutes between innings. Yes, getting the pitchers to stop delaying actual pitching is a great thing too. I always disliked guys like Mike Hargrove and Nomar with their "take pitch, adjust gloves for 5 minutes, take one foot out of the box, look to the sky for no reason for another minute then let the pitcher throw."
I would bet we probably are mostly in agreement, but minor differences on this in general.
