Also got Mantle NMS and that was the biggest goal for me this year.

Is already getting out of hand. Fly balls caught at the warning track are being called like they were robbery outs, "Boog" is practically yelling at every ball in play, and strike outs just sound generically boring or over-the-top exaggerated.
SDS picked decent replacements, but the calls are all over the place.
I've already muted commentary after only two full games.

I'm the best at sucking at the final boss of showdowns.
The only one I ever finished was the very first "starter" one. The rest? Get to the final boss, fail.

1. Directional hitting has always been in the game; you've been playing for so long, you should know.
2. It's in the game for a reason. You may not like what that reason is, but the hitting option will stay in the game for a long as SDS sees fit.
3. Directional hitting does not produce the results you're speaking of. I've tried it; low and away pitches are treated as ground outs and the occasional line drive if the timing is good.
4. If you feel so strongly about the removal of directional, this is not the place to do it. SDS has plenty of outlets for you to use in order to contact them directly.

I'd upvote this more than once if I could; great improvement from SDS. Sometimes I'm just too tired to log on but do it anyway just to get the moment done, now I don't have to worry for a couple days.

Offline player here. I have fun collecting, playing the conquest maps, dailies, etc. The thought of playing anything online, even games that don't count against your record, is intimidating for me so avoid it.
Does it cost me some possible free cards? Yes, but I'd rather buy it or "rent" it then sell it back than go for wins online.
I like playing baseball without stressing out, that's pretty much it.

Just lost to the Cubs on All-Star even though I pulled all the right moves.
Up 5-3, bottom of the ninth. Put in Tom Glavine to face Rizzo, Heyward, Shwarber (lucky how that fell into place).
Should be good, right? Nope, CPU gives me a double middle finger: grounder, blooper, blast ... L.

Update: after a few calm moments and UI changes, I beat the Cubs 10-4.

Nope; learned my lesson last year. If I want the card bad enough I'll just post a buy order for 37,500 and wait.

Once I did the math and figured out you HAD to do either showdown or the event I passed. Got the Brooks Robinson card and called it good afterward.

I've learned to hit the ball the other way. Been very patient, wait for a ball middle-away and just slap it down the line. Easy double.

Oh man ... I'm not an online player. I've literally played one online game this year. I just enjoy playing baseball against the cpu; I get too competitive playing people .

Today's (July 30) moment included 4 total bases at Oracle Park. I hit one into triples alley and immediately thought "I'm going for it; I at least have a triple."
Both outfielders over run the ball, and the cutoff throw was wide from short to home.
Got credit for an inside the park HR.

Haven't played an online game in two years, and probably have played 5 total games since it became a thing.

I didn't think I'd like the moment either but I got done by the first at bat of the third game. Just stay patient; you'll get it done.

Honestly, Robinson was all I really wanted as an O’s fan but the completionist inside of me if is bugged by it. I tried showdown a few times tonight and it just made my blood boil. It’s just not worth the increase in my blood pressure.

Completely understand.

Also, Robinson is a sneaky good card.

I've done everything offline as I can and I'm still short. Am I missing something?

If you don't do the showdown or play online (event or missions) you will end up where I am at 98.
