SD Studios has no respect for its players time. I’ve done the most recent Diamond Quest 5 times, and have had over 50% chance to get the epic cards every time, with one time being at 63% and another at 70%. I’ve gotten the Ottavino card once, and haven’t gotten the Jung card at all. I hate wasting my time and that’s what this mode is. If I complete the map and don’t get the cards, my percentage should automatically be increased for my next run. Stop making people grind for so long you get one card because the game decides it just doesn’t want to give the card out. Please SD Studios…please start respecting your players time. We’re the ones who pay you f***ing salary.

The complete disrespect you show to Wilmer Flores and the SF Giants is disgusting. He literally led the league in RBIs for a large portion of the month and is still in 4th place and he didn’t even get a Tops Now card. You guys never seem to show the Giants respect when they have earned it. Very disappointing.

@Pergo_MLBTS The problem is that you can go through and succeed at all of the spots, and if you aren’t good enough to play on the top difficulty modes, then it can all be a waste of time because you didn’t get the rewards. I’m all for letting the better players get items faster, but for mere mortals like me, if I fail to get the item because of random percentages, the next time I try it my percentages should increase. It should not take me more than two successful runs to get the cards.

I wouldn’t have a problem if the mode actually functioned like a true rogue-like where if you fail/die, at least you’ve gotten a bit stronger and your chances next time are a little better. If I beat the stadium challenge and don’t get the card, my next run the starting percentage should increase a little bit.

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN I don’t expect to get a reward every time I play a 3 inning game. I expect to get a reward that is displayed for completing a mode at some point, and not have to complete it now a minimum of 6 times to get the card. I don’t like buying cards with stubs if I can avoid it. I like earning the cards where I’m supposed to be able to earn them. I’ve done what is required FIVE TIMES and not gotten the reward…all because of stupid percentages, not because of anything I’ve done wrong. The fact that some people can complete this once and get all the rewards, and others have to try over and over and over again means that not everyone is getting the same experience playing the game, and that, in my opinion, is garbage.
You’re probably CONSIDERABLY better at this game than I am. Stop coming on here and telling people like me that the way I experience or perceive the game is wrong. This forum exists for me to let the developers know what my experience is playing the game. If you don’t agree or you are having a better experience than me, good for you. But I am not having the enjoyment I should, and I think they could tweak the game to make it more enjoyable for everyone.

@theBlindRhino_PSN And you clearly grew up to be a [censored]

The thing that bugs me the most is that they could make just a small tweak and everyone would be happy. Keep it as is for people’s first attempt. if you’re good at the game and can get the percentage up high enough to get the rewards, great. If, however, you make it through and beat the stadium challenges only to not get the rewards, then on your next run the percentages start a little bit higher. They could even do this without announcing it and the good players wouldn’t even know anything changed, so we can protect their precious “I’m really good at a game and you’re not” egos.

- I do understand how statistics work. I’m saying that basing the rewards on percentages is dumb. This is not a casino. If I complete something 5 times I should have received the reward at some point.
- I’m not leaving anything out. My luck has just been horrible. While I haven’t been able to complete every spot along the way, my odds by the time I’ve reached the stadium challenges (playing them on all-star) have been between 52% and 70%. And I’m not talking about the “rare”BIAH packs. I’m talking about the epic rewards. The first playthrough I got the Otavino card, but not Jung. My subsequent 4 plays I got NEITHER epic card.
I’m sorry. You can say that the majority of the community loves this mode, but I don’t think that’s true. I think the majority of good players do because they can play the higher difficulty levels to further increase their odds. I have never said to remove this mode or even to change anything on the first playthrough on a map. But if someone completes the map and beats the stadium challenges but does not get the card, their odds should go up a bit on their next run. You may like grinding and grinding, but not everyone does. That can make a small tweak and make it more enjoyable for more people without taking any of the challenge away for the hardcore players on their first playthrough.

I’m done with this franchise. The diamond dynasty grind is too much, and at this point in the season, all the new 99 diamonds are repeats of players that we already have diamonds of. And now, for Roberto Clemente day, there is gonna be a program to unlock a retro finest 99 Roberto…when we already have a Milestone 99 Roberto. I know the creators don’t care about loosing one player, but I’m done with this garbage. Too many duplicates when there are still so many other former players out there worthy of diamond cards.
-
I’m sure it is… but it doesn’t change my opinion. Try harder.
-
They truly don’t care because there are enough people out there that have money and will spend it to get all the cards. They don’t care about their whole fan base, only the ones with extra $$$ to spend.
-
@YOSHI24_XBL You literally can’t win without scoring runs.
-
He wasn’t 4th at the end of April, he was 1st or 2nd. And yes, I am complaining. Pete Alonso gets a spotlight diamond after already having his regular card promoted to diamond, and same with Corbin. Give some love to the average players who play out of their minds for large stretches. Stop sucking up to the players who already have great cards.

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN I didn’t buy MLB The Show to play a casino game where rewards are given out by percentages. That’s what it’s become now, which is why I won’t be purchasing it again. Pack odds are one thing…but to complete the mode only for the percentage gods to say “sorry, try again” is not what I consider to be fun. And to have that happen 5 times is even less fun. The probability of loosing something at a 50% odds 5 times in a row is less than 4%, and my odds were much higher than that multiple times. So yes, I’m complaining because I don’t believe the “odds” that they post, and for a game like this, the “odds” should never be this bad.
-
And I got 1 reward playing 10 games at over 50% every time, so I say the odds are bs.
-
@trfatboy22_PSN He doesn’t get the point. And that’s the point.
