Kemp vs trout is a joke

SDS clearly can’t figure it out. Kemp was never better in his career than trout is now but he’s rated higher lmaoooooo

Makes sense why the game doesn’t work 😕

THANK YOU. Every year this kinda stuff drives me insane. Especially when you don’t have money to spend on the game and have to grind for LS cards.

Last year there was about 100 players who were never as good as Trout is right now, but had better cards than his Live Series. And now this year every average minor league player apparently deserves a card as good as Trout. Makes no sense.

I can definitely agree with you that there is a major difference between vs cpu on all star and showdown on all star. The thing that really burns my [censored], is all the acrobatic catches that would leave a player on the ir. I'm tired of the cpu playing defense like they're superman; look at me, I can fly.

Every single player for the CPU in Showdown:
    Fielding: 99
    Reaction: 99

I had the same experience. Was squaring up everything and was constantly getting 90mph Good/Okay off the bat.

Lock-ons in the outfield were MUCH better for me today... there has definitely been some improvement. The ball at the wall is still an issue though... any ball hit close to the wall is never caught no matter how long you are camped out under it.

@dantheranman said in How do team tiers affect your TA rewards?:

There's really no difference in the points earned in the season so long as you surpass your expected win total. Win your moments, make championship run trades (trade away your prospects for older players that will help you win now) and it will take care of itself.

Does it allow you to make more than one trade?

Haven’t been in the MTO forum until now, so I’m sorry if this has been discussed already...

First of all I just want to say that I’m loving MTO this year (nice to throw in a bit of positivity on this forum whenever possible).

But here is my question... if you look in the Team Affinity rewards screen, the Yankees and the Marlins seem to get the same rewards based on your performance in MTO. So is there any difference choosing a “Favorites”, “Contenders”, “Underdogs” or “Longshots” team? Shouldn’t you get a lot more points for winning games with the Marlins rather than the Yankees?

  • Pitch speed difference between All-Star and HOF

@beanball0571 said in Pitch speed difference between All-Star and HOF:

Get rid of the inner pci and just go with the outer. It’s easier and gives you the look of a bigger pci. As for speeds, it’s annoying, but if the went to HOF speeds from the start, they would lose money and we know that’s all they care about

I might actually try this... would make the PCI seem a lot more like the good ol’ days

I don’t have a problem with the pitch speed so much as the massive difference in pci size.

Yes, that too seems like a HUGE difference

  • C challengerjs_PSN

Does anyone else feel like it’s way too big of an increase in pitch speeds going between the two levels?

Been hovering around 700 rating the last few days and it’s been madness... hitting 10 foul-ball homeruns per game on All-Star, and striking out like a madman on HOF.

Love the home run replays. Don’t understand how people don’t have the patience to watch a 10 second replay.

  • to monitor players... does it really make a difference?
  • C challengerjs_PSN

@JakeTheSupreme said in to monitor players... does it really make a difference?:

Currently a championship player on a 2012 Samsung TV (had to settle, I've broken a lot of TVs) but I was thinking about getting a monitor. Is it worth it?

The difference for hitting is absolutely night and day. I've only gamed on a monitor for the last two years, but my PS4 was hooked up to my old TV the other day so I decided to take some at-bats for fun... it was absolutely hilarious how bad I was, and how late I was on EVERYTHING.

I also use the Asus stuff, would highly recommend... and not that pricey. Honestly if you are CS on a TV you will be World Series in no time on a monitor.

Live Series players get absolutely no respect in this game and it drives me crazy.

Mike Trout is one of the best players to ever play the game, and they are constantly releasing cards that have higher overalls than him. Only true top tier legends should have better cards than Trout (Mays, Mantle, etc.) This is a huge problem with other players as well... tons of B-tier legends getting better cards than Yeli, Bellinger, DeGrom, etc.

Was really hoping they would tone down the Signature Series (Immortals) cards this year and this would get better, but it’s clear now that it’s only gonna get worse... there’s gonna be dozens of prospects who will never amount to anything more than league average players who will have better cards than Mike Trout. Make it stop!

Umm, live series players are the only players you can use in Franchise mode. That's a big badge of honor right there. I bet if you asked Reggie Jackson if he would rather be in Franchise mode or DD, he would choose Franchise mode every single time.

You’re right, my rant should be in the Diamond Dynasty forum... but since this post was in the General Discussion I just responded here 🙂

The Blue Jays are getting absolutely hosed in Team Affinity... two of the worst cards in Stage 1 and 2. Here’s hoping that Jays fans actually have something to look forward to in Stage 3 and 4.

If you think that’s hard wait till you do Al Kaline lol

The Kaline moments were nothing compared to the Eckersley shutout. God I hated that mission.

Finally beat it. Had to throw 120 pitches and strike out 16 to get it done... so hard. And Matt Olson almost spoiled it again... was standing on 3rd base when I made the final out.

    Evolution Eckersley First Career Shutout

Did all the other Stage 1 moments first try. Tried this one about 10 times and can’t do it. Eck starts running out of energy after about 65 pitches. Every player on the A’s turns into Kevin Youkilis and doesn’t swing at anything outside the zone... so you have to pump the zone with strikes and eventually Olson or someone else takes you deep. I’ve struck out 20 and still failed the moment.

Am I a crazy person for thinking this is so hard? Any pointers for this one?

  • Curious, has anyone ever stuck a diving play on the infield???

Many in the infield, but haven’t successfully made a diving play in the outfield for years and it makes me sad

  • The hitting skill gap is the widest its ever been. Thats why MOST of you dont like it.
  • C challengerjs_PSN

I do really like the game overall, but I disagree with this post... MOST people don't like the hitting because bad swings are still being rewarded as much as good swings.

I just played a 15-inning game against a guy that was like 16-4 or something like that, and we both squared up literally dozens of [censored] all game long and were not rewarded. For example, I was perfect with the PCI off Oswalt several times with FOTF Josh Bell, Eddie Matthews, etc, and wasn't rewarded at all. My opponent was really good, and I'm sure he had the same experience based on how many deep flyouts he had.

How did I end up winning the game in the 15th inning? I hit a walk-off HR with Trevor Story on a fastball that I completely missed (inner PCI not even touching the ball). This is the part of the game that constantly drives me crazy (even when I was lucky enough to win this one).

I don’t know if it’s just me but the pitch speeds seem way faster online that offline I practice on legend everyday before playing rs and I get blown away on hall of fame. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like this or if it’s just me.

This will be my most tinfoil hat comment ever, but is it possible there is a glitch that is making pitch speeds inconsistent? I've faced Oswalt on All-Star a couple times and it felt like he was throwing 120 mph. I've faced other pitches who throw harder than him, and been early on everything the entire game (those kind of games where you hit 20 foul-ball home runs). Not sure what's going on...

Pretty interesting that right after I made this comment I randomly watched a video of one of the best players in the world having the exact same issue... being late on everything to Oswalt on All-Star difficulty... I don't feel as bad now?
