I’ll have to disagree with you. The original OP is not wrong, he just has a different opinion than you do.

I was on the game while it was happening and chose not to participate. It’s not everyone, but I say the people who ‘missed’ or chose not to do it are prob the minority of the DD community
If you were playing, knew about it and chose not to participate. I salute you!!

I remember, for me, I hit a homer and a bloop single for two of the hits.
On my last at bat, I hit a liner up the middle that hit the pitcher. It ricocheted toward the 3rd base line and O’Neill b-a-r-e-l-y beat the throw to first.
It took forever.

I’ve said this before…
Those that post criticisms in a “healthy, non-toxic, professional and non-personal way” are simply passionate about the Show and want to be “part of the solution “ in making it a better game. Even if we disagree on what a “better game” looks like.
Everyone else? Probably on my block list!. 🫣

Thanks for posting this. I am EXTREMELY encouraged!

Another thing to try if @ericulous1_xbl method isn’t working for you:
Definitely switch to directional. Instead of pointing the left stick up, point it to the right. (Not down nor up, just to the right)
I find this “opens up” the inside pitches (for me) and I can get around on them faster with better contact.
And, yes, this moment is what gives moments a bad name!!

Ha! You might be right!!
I don’t watch many YouTube type stuff, but I did see one guy explaining “the glitch” while actually doing it multiple times in his video. I sat there watching with my mouth wide open in shock. So so brazen.
-
I agree with your position on “the glitch”. Like @dolenz_psn said, SDS surely knows who and how many took advantage of it. Like you, I don’t understand why they haven’t done something about it. There’s been enough “internet chatter” about it. It calls into question their integrity. IMO.
The best explanation I heard about why nothing has been done was from a podcast I listened to. (TBR). The guy said that maybe SDS thinks that since the market dipped severely right after, everyone had a chance to buy cheap and finish collections and/or invest. So, all is good (??) I don’t know…
I’d like SDS to identify the folks who abused the glitch. (I’ll let SDS define - “abuse”). Ban them for the rest of the year. Publish their IDs. Make a huge “stink” about it. Then tell the community that they can track this kind of stuff. And, going forward, there is zero tolerance. Start restoring their gaming company integrity. I know I’m keeping an eye on it.

I mean, it coulda been so simple:
Add Another tab to the “Legends and Flashback Program”
Have the same missions as online, except double the number needed to get the points rewards. Have those missions be satisfied in any offline DD mode. Keep the 8 day deadline.
Nobody (realistically) is complaining. Everyone (practically) is complementing SDS for listening and “playing your way”. Seriously, low hanging fruit….
Instead, we have these type of discussions every time something new is released. Every. Time.
-
Yup. Agree 100%.
-
Truly thanks for the encouragement! I’ve tried online, it was just not for me. A major obstacle: I let CPU run and field for my team. That is not an online option. I also do classic pitching and directional hitting (those I can do online, although a handicap from what I’ve read).
Honestly, if CPU running and fielding were available online, I’d probably wade on in there!

-
I play on veteran. I don’t play online at all.
And yes, I expect SDS to put enough offline content out there, so that if I complete it, I can finish an Inning path. That has not been the case so far this year.
-
My block list is getting quite long this year…..
I find it amazing that there are folks here who care how I (myself) play the game. I don’t give a rip how you play, why should you care how I do?
I simply want SDS to put enough XP out there for how I like to play so that I can reach the end of the Inning Path and get a single boss. Why? Because this is a video game and that is one of my “missions” (so to speak). So far, I’m 0-3.
I don’t expect the same rewards as someone who plays differently/more than me. I don’t expect more stubs or more XP or cards or anything more.
However, I don’t expect LESS. And that’s what’s happening for the way I like to engage with the game.
Having said that, this is a new inning, With a new “mission”. If I continue to “fail” ( thru this entire season), then I’ll have a decision to make going forward. And that’s fine. I tried COD a while ago. It wasn’t for me. There are other sports game out there.
And I hope I’m done commenting on this!! I’m gonna try to stay out of it going forward….
-
Agree 1000000%.
-
If it’s any consolation, I had a brief survey request in my inbox. I took them to task on not having enough offline XP. I just finished Lou Gehrig conquest. All programs, cornerstone and spotlights done. I’m at 81k.
I’ve been playing a game or two of my 9-inning Cityscape mini season. It’s taking forever, which I’m actually enjoying. The other thing I’m doing is vs CPU games to finish the first “level” of TA. Still have about 10 teams to go there. (Mainly need total bases to finish them).
@rubicante23_psn what would make me happier is a conquest or mini season that had repeatable XP in it. Like 10k (or even more) for repeating it. I mentioned it once before: do a 28 game 9 inning mini season and get 100k for winning. (Why not?).
-
I’ve always found this part of the game confusing. I’ve tried to get into it a bit more this year. Have listened to a podcast or two (extremely rare for me) to see how it’s done. Have some investments already bought. Can’t wait to see how they will go on Friday
Many of the guys getting potential updates are already priced as such in the AH.
-
Offline only here as well. Happens to me ALL THE TIME. I put it down to the CPU deciding it’s time for the other team to get a hit/score a run/hit a homer.
I literally say out loud, “if a MLB pitcher missed that badly, they’d be in the minors.”
-
This happened to me last night. I went into another mode (RTTS?) of The Show and immediately backed out.
Tried DD again and was able to get in.
-
Yup. This is where I am as well. Leaning towards giving next year a miss to “send a message”. As small as it may be.
-
I have to laugh. ….
Most of the responses here:
I got it …”took me 20 minutes, 45, an hour”…or I ”got it on my 20th, 30th attempt”.
A MOMENT ON VETERAN SHOULD TAKE 1-5 TRIES!!!
If it takes longer than that, it’s nerfed or (in this case) a troll by SDS.
As an aside, I just listened to “The Business Review”. He calls us casuals, “lifers” (meaning we have a life outside the game). He also says SDS is definitely sticking it to the “lifers” this year with the investing nerfs, the “glitch” and the bad content. Very interesting observation.
