@goozefn_psn thanks for the advice. I know “investing” in certain players is a great way to make lots of stubs. I did a bit of it last year. (Someone would post some names on occasion to look at).
I’m not entirely comfortable going this route, though. As strange as it sounds, I like playing the Show, but I’m not a follower of baseball much, if at all. 🫣
I do try to flip, but it seemed really hard last year to get any margins.

@lhubison58_xbl I’m gonna try this method for 26 and see how I do. It will take patience on my part as I enjoy “finishing” LS teams and completing Collections.

Been playing since ‘21, usually finish around June-ish. Last year, it was later. I want to say August. Cards seemed expensive.

I usually keep all non-duplicates. And I usually don’t go after gate keepers. I save them for last and hope I pull one.

I typically go after the “low hanging fruit” (cheap card) as adding one or two 5 stub cards to a collection can earn a card or a couple hundred stubs. Early on in the game, that makes a difference.

Might chance my philosophy this year to see if I can finish sooner.

Started with Strat-o-Matic baseball. Round discs and a spinner for the win! Played many full seasons of Orioles baseball that way.

Graduated to APBA baseball game. Cards and dice and charts! Was in many fantasy leagues playing that one.

Thought it was a “brave new world” when APBA came out with a PC/Mac version on a COMPUTER!!

I’ll add to what others have said: I hate Showdown, and, if up to me, it would be removed.

Having said that, if SDS wants to have it in the game, make it optional. And do not ever put cards in it that you can’t get any other way.

The only showdown I can complete is the beginners. I’ve tried some of the others. I’ve tried all of the “trick” methods posted by others on this site….to no avail. I usually only make it thru to the 2nd or 3rd pitcher. It’s very frustrating.

Showdown can go pack sand as far as I’m concerned. The fact that SDS puts cards in it you can get no where else is evil!!

I never did finish “spring breakout” collection this year. Again, the mode is just plain unsatisfying and frustrating. IMO.

I have to laugh. After reading this thread, I wasn’t looking forward to this moment.

For me, literally two swings and two homers deep to center field!

Now, the Beltran and Baldwin moments…ugh…. Those took a couple of tries.

@Dolenz_PSN yeah, I use the moonshot Ozzie card in my lineup often at SS. I feel really, really bad subbing him out for pinch runner Made.

I was hoping for some additional legends to help finish off the few Collections I haven’t done. Some of the prices are….whew!!!

Although I probably have enough stubs to finish. The latest conquest map got me over 700k in profits!

The sliders for the CPU are….something.

We need a DQ Rewind pack….badly! Get these card prices down to manageable levels!

Doesn’t need to give us all of them, but a choice pack would be awesome!

This idea here MUST be implemented if they want to make DQ accessible to those of us who play on AllStar and below. An absolute must.

My number one is: make all modes play the same for similar levels. So, DQ, Showdown, Vs CPU, Moments (etc) all play the same on Veteran ( for example). No slider nonsense whatsoever. If they want a mode to be tougher, put higher rated cards in for the opponent.

So tired of Showdown ( in particular) with a bunch of Live Series players acting like Hall of Famers/Gold Glovers!!

C’mon SDS, do us a big favor.

Please release the 4 cards hidden in this Showdown! Let us buy ‘em or earn ‘em without beating our heads against the wall with that Mode!

Those that can do this Showdown have done this one long ago. The rest of us are tired of it kicking our butts. Those 4 low 83 rated cards will help with numerous collections.

Ok. I’ve been watching the streams. I’m fairly certain I had 10 packs on my account.
Just logged in and see that I now have 8. BUT, I have two CHASE type packs. Looks like a couple of the twitch packs “changed” to CHASE. I’m very confused.
Not complaining, just want some explaining!

Both DQ and Showdown need to be redone.
DQ’s reward structure needs to be fixed.

The sliders in Showdown need to be tuned way down. If they want to make Showdiwn “tougher”, put higher rated cards in as the opponent. Not nerf sliders.

While we are asking for things to be “fixed”, can I put in a plug to get rid of Jackie Robinson And Spring Breakout Showdowns in order to complete Collections? 🫣

I think there are just certain cards we ( as individuals) can’t hit with. My “potato” is Ohtani. Can’t hit with ANY of his “10 versions” this year.
