I’m sure all the issues your having are 100% your fault. There’s about 5-7 people on here who can explain that to you. They’ll be here in a bit, maybe, sometimes they don’t come around when there’s visual proof of something shady in the game.

@DriveByTrucker17 said in How can a game with this amount of simulation and RNG be considered competitive?:
The better player shouldn’t always win.
That’s not how baseball works, and that’s not how life works.
Sir, this is a video game.

I played online for years but not enjoying it this year so decided to play solely offline. I love stat missions and I love the power up program from MUT. SDS has a great opportunity here to combine those and give playing offline more reason.
-
What the f are we playing? Baseball or a slot machine? At this point it’s aim...push button...hope for the lucky number.
-
Balls being thrown over the middle regardless of perfect release is by design. With the latest patch it’s apparently intentional and they aren’t going to change it. I understand pitchers miss their spot in real baseball but come on, we are playing a video game and the players should always be in control. Just get rid of the meter if trying to get perfect release doesn’t mean anything when the game decides where to put our pitches. I’ve already quit playing online and every year I get pushed more and more to just quit buying this game altogether. The simulation is being pushed too much.

@Whereismymind808 said in It is time to change Stage 1 Showdowns:
While we’re spitballing ideas here, would you also prefer for them to just get rid of showdown completely & go back to the mindless grind of mlb 18? They made stage 2 easier to accommodate you whiny people that always need everything dumbed-down. Yet, you’re here asking for more. Showdown makes grinding somewhat feasible. If you want those TA cards, make some adjustments to your gameplay .. cause what you’re doing is clearly not working. Smh
I want them to quit messing with the sliders and quit programming the CPU guys to have the best defensive plays ever in the history of this game.
Play a regular game VS CPU then play Showdown, the difference is night and day. If I can smack around the CPU in a regular game, why can’t I do that in Showdown? Surely you can see the frustration with that.

rng hitting system. If 2K made this game the hitting would be worlds better and your input wouldn’t be thrown into a blender of randomness.

Multi platform, Next Gen consoles, tons of new players. They have a lot on their plate. Just feels like the problems with the game have been reported to exhaustion and unless this is how the game is supposed to play, I don’t see the urgency from them to make improvements, unless it’s stopping exploits and what not.
I’m not enjoying this year’s game and quite truthfully have been feeling that way since 18. Gonna check out early and try to find a game that brings fun back to video games for me.
Just a suggestion if their listening, too much simulation is a bad thing imo. Video games were meant to be played by players, not the game itself. If I want to see real baseball I watch it on TV. Anyway, I’m out and on to my next. I’ll check out reviews for TS21 and I’d be happy to purchase it if certain aspects of the gameplay are improved. No need for me to talk about what I’d like to see, it’s been talked about enough. It’s on you now SDS, I’m cheering for ya!

Tried to give him a taste of his own medicine and it backfired on you.

Make more cards eligible for it and let us continue the ability to power them up to 99’s with the more stats we accumulate.
I quit playing online and this would be a great addition for offline players who like stat missions and building a fun lineup. Obviously the stats could be accomplished in online play also.
TA cards would be my first suggestion for cards that could be included in the PU program.

You know what else is amazing, how your allowed to troll, asked to stop, you continue, your reported twice and nothing is done about it.
Go ahead and explain that one for me.
-
He must be one of those so called conspiracy theorist if he’s bringing up problems with the game.

They need to send out a survey so they know where to begin to fix their problems. I don't think they know what to do because the last 2-3 patches was suppose to improve fielding. Looking at the forum, I don't think their improvement is good enough.
I feel like the game is supposed to play this way, that refers to my too much simulation is bad comment. If they wanted to fix it they would have done so by now. There’s reasons, and we’ll never know why, they want it this way. All I can say is I myself do not care for the way the game plays and therefore I choose to walk away.

@eatyum said in Yep. They patched fielding. NOT!:
I'm not even sure what I watched, I don't know if it was the game or not, why did you even dive, it wasn't like you were stuck in place, he did pause a little, but he never locked into place he was still moving when you dived.
also you can't lose be eliminated on a showdown through fielding, so why would you get 1000 stubs back? You still have your run.
You don’t get eliminated but it makes the final guy harder with less runs earned because of the game doing stuff like this. Fielding mistakes created by the game has lost me runs that I could of had for the final boss.

@theman925 said in Hitting in Showdown:
I don’t think anyone recommends to just put the control down till you get two strikes. BUT it is smart to take pitches, unless you enjoy making quick outs and getting the pitchers confidence up.
If the first pitch is right down the middle, I have to take? Doesn’t work that way in real baseball, why is that a thing in a game that wants to replicate real baseball?
-
The PCI could be a square and each quadrant has a percentage of the hit being successful. Higher percentage in the middle and decreasing out into the outer quadrants.
Hit types would vary by the type of hitter
A hit in the middle quadrant with a power hitter could be a HR or a double/triple with a contact hitter. Hits in the lower quadrants would be ground balls and left/right quadrants would be pulled hits.
If you gave players a “schematic” to look at that would describe why the hit did this or that instead of the pure randomness we have right now, it could lessen the frustration.
-
The player who bought the game with their own money, holding the controller and pushing the buttons should always be in control of the result. Not the randomness the game is programmed to do.
I would be livid if I bought a shooter game and the game decided upon its own where my bullets went. That game wouldn’t last a week before everyone quit playing it.

Good work...i assume this was using zone hitting settings with buttons. Did you use normal swings or power swings or a variety of both?
Yeah zone, I do only use normal swings
Very interesting. I guess for online play the percentages work out but we all know for showdown they throw these game codes and percentages out the window lol
Showdown is lower difficulty, thus in order to not have literally 100 runs they need to randomize the center pci results some to make games actually end....that's why any event/rs/or br on all star is an utter joke
Why in the world would any video game stop you because your doing too good? If someone can put up 100 runs so be it. That’s like saying in COD ok you have too many kills and now we are going to stop you from getting more. The outrage from the players would be real.

@temp-101028 said in The question about pitching has been answered:
What are you referring to? Are you taking into account being the slightest bit off on the way up? and down? I feel like the factor "pitch confidence" in a little more than some think. some days i literally dont miss my spots, some days im Rick Ankiel throwing to the backstop. i Guess i just havent noticed it as an isssue, myself.
If perfect doesn’t mean perfect then why is it in the game?
I am at a loss for words
How can a game with this amount of simulation and RNG be considered competitive?
Why isn’t there Offline stat missions to get prestige?
