Why would you need 2 cards if they make his card work correctly? He should be a SP/OF card with a stamina bar that effects only his pitching. You should be able to select in pre game menu whether to put him in the lineup, or start him on the mound.

SDS dropped the ball on not allowing this Shohei card to play 2-way.

I am sure it's a coding issue. It's been in the game forever that sp's can't play the field. I am sure it's a legacy coding problem. My way works around that particular problem if that is indeed the problem.

It may be, but I dont quite understand why it would be that big of an issue. You used to be able to leave any position player in to pitch before. I cant see why selecting any card as your starting pitcher would be hard to code. You can currently start relievers, and pinch hit/run with pitchers.

You can't put a pitcher in the outfield or a position player in the bullpen which is where the legacy code comes in. Leaving a position player in to pitch is not the same.

You can move Ohtani to the OF though after he has pitched his start, right? Swap positions with your RF and replace the swapped player with your new pitcher. Not sure on this, haven't done it.

No you don't have option to move the sp ohtani to any position or even put him on the bench. He can only go in your starting rotation.

You misunderstood my post. I am saying you can at least keep him in all game after replacing your pitcher.

No,, he has to come out of the game when you replace him. There is no keeping him in the game because he would have to subbed for during the double switch which is what i am assuming you mean.

He's talking about swapping positions with an OF. It will allow you to do this because I did it the other day with Ohtani's LS card to see if it would let him pitch.

How do you swap positions during a ranked game tho? at the lineup screen? It wouldn't work on this one because it doesn't have the secondaries does it?

I'm not sure. I did it in a play vs CPU game. I don't see why it wouldn't work though. You go into manage, substitutions and swap the pitcher and OF position. Then you can just replace the pitcher. The downside is losing one of your players.

I know you can do it when up 6 runs but that isn't a viable way to have fun with the card.

I’m nervous to face this card but excited as hell to have him in my rotation. I always love Vida cards. I have a feeling he’s going to be the best pitcher in the game for a few weeks here.

And there's been lots of ballplayer moments, especially lately.

I forgive them for those because daily moments are hard to keep doing. They really shouldn't be in the game as we should get credit for logging on and it does the same thing for sds.

Yeah i have had several not let me charge the ball if the ball is hit a certain way. It's like they make the guy go in awkward angle and not let you actually go towards the ball.

Bummer to learn about this b/c I really like playing in the MLB stadiums, especially the classic ones. I haven't noticed this lag, but will remember it going forward and use ST stadiums. But what is the swing reward you are talking about? Does the game actually have a setting so that swings behave differently in MLB stadiums, or is it just the difference in dimensions?

Older players were compared against peers. WAR when Wagner played was from a lesser talent base. For me WAR needs to be compared against era, not all time. Trout may be better than Griffey, but my point was that Trout was a good option for the collection.

I don’t get the “RNG” argument, either you check swing or you don’t. You either push the swing button fully or you don’t. The problem is the cut scene camera. There is no reason to appeal on 95% of them. Without swing sensitivity hitting would be much worse than what it is.

I don't really include guys that were signed as free agents. Maddux is a better all time player than murph of course. I know others will include him and that is cool. He just isn't on my list.

Ah, so you were just including home grown Braves? Got ya. I can respect that. But man, you had the best pitcher I ever seen. I am only 43 so I didnt see or remember anyone before the late 80's into the 90's. But Maddux was a master. I would probably go maddux, R Johnson and Pedro as my top 3 SP I ever seen.

Maddux was great especially at pitching to contact. The problem tho is when it came to the playoffs, his stuff didn't translate. He couldn't get the break on the pitches late in the season. Avery, smoltz and even millwood were much better in the playoffs. Glavine was ok in the playoffs but again he just didn't have swing and miss stuff. My top 3 are martinez, kevin brown(yep i said it. he was nasty for about 3 years.), and santanna. Good list.. i am 42 so not much older than me... lol..

Yeah but that isnt true. His numbers were great in the PS. His team just couldnt do anything. Plus he won 4 straight Cy Youngs and top 5 in 7 straight seasons. He was easily the top 3 pitchers of all time. I cannot really throw in the old names seriously because of the difference in times.

Also Gregg maddux in the PS:
Well, for one, he won 4 straight Cy Youngs before he even got to pitch in the PS lol.

But in 95: he had a 4.50 ERA in NLDS, 1.13 ERA in NLCS and 2.25 in WS. 19 k's 7 bb's. Just fine numbers there. Walks were high though for him.

In 96: 0.00 ERA, 2.51 ERA and 1.72 ERA 22 k's and 3 bb. Amazing.

In 97: 2.57 ERA and 3.00 ERA 8 k's and 3 bb's. Not great but not bad. Maybe not good for HoF'er though.

In 99: 2.57 ERA 1.93 ERA and 2.57 ERA 17 k's and 9 bb's. Really surprised at his K's and bb's number this year but didnt allow many runs so he did great.

Then he had like 4 or 5 starts total in the years after these seasons when the Braves were pretty much getting eliminated in first round and his numbers werent great at 35 years +, but he had overall a very good PS career. And from 1995-2000 was dominate. His later years hurt his overall numbers a bit.

Steve Avery wasnt as good. In a much smaller sample size of course. During that time neither was Smoltz. Even though Smoltz was pretty good with the Braves in the early 90's PS.

I am a braves homer. I never felt comfortable with maddox on the mound in a pressure game. He could do ok in game 3 or maybe even game one but never a game 5 or game 7. Smoltz was a completelely different animal. He is considered one the best post season pitchers of all time so i am not sure if you are saying maddox was better in the PS? If you are then i don't know how you came to that conclusion. Smoltz was 15 and 4 with a 2.67 era in the post season and really should have had more wins if the braves could have just scored some in the earlier ws starts. Smoltz is probably the second best post season pitcher of all time behind marino rivera. Bob gibson could be ahead of him too but gibson didn't make the playoffs that many times so i don't really put him above him.

Steve avery for about 3 years was lights out in the playoffs. Him and smoltz would win their games and then maddox and glavine would lose theirs or the bullpen(which was god awful most of their run) would blow starter's leads. Avery would have been better than glavine if he could had stayed healthy but it wasn't meant to be. Glavine and maddox are better all time pitchers than smoltz(glavine may be same tier tbh), but smoltz was just head and shoulder a better money pitcher. Maddox would also be hidden in the playoffs. He would only make one start in most series and maddox is always going to be better than a fourth or 5th option on another team. I know you probably looked at baseball reference and looked at stats but stats in this case lie. Maddox as a braves fan just made us nervous in PS. Smoltz on the mound and we would be cocky as heck lol.

Who cares about wins. 95 percent of the people are playing the event to prestige certain cards. Quit being an A-hole and wasting the time of your opponent.... Play the first inning out

This is entirely on SDS for making these grinds online only. It’s only going to get worse when we get to event 3 and most people are done with the 100 wins.
