1956 Mickey Mantle card
-
Would a 1956 mantle card be the best card ever put into the show? He hit .340 vs righties that year and .375 vs lefties. He had 39 hr's vs righties and 13 vs lefties. He was the best or the second best fielding outfielder of that time so no reason to think defense wouldn't be above 90 to start. His steal rating will be lower than his prime card but that would be about it. I don't see how he wouldn't have 125 contact vs both sides. He should have 125 power vs righties and at least 110 vs lefties. He would be a diamond defender too.

Pretty sure the LS collection reward is a Prime Card of that year. I may be wrong but it sounds familiar

1921, 1923 or 1927 Babe Ruth seasons are the best ever...
Then 1967 Yaz..
There's a few more before Mantle 1956 but ya. It's up there -
2001 Bonds. Roid up, bruh.

Yup. That's also one of the greatest years

The pitchers were intentionally walking in runs just so they wouldn’t face him with the bases juiced. Crazy

There's a few more before Mantle 1956 but ya. It's up thereyaz 1967 year is not better than 1956 mantle. He literally beat him in every category. He hit .353 with 52 taters and 130 rbi's. His season was way better than yaz's. I'll agree on babe having better hitting stats but i am talking overall card that can play defense too.

I remember him being walked with nobody on a lot.

We are never getting bonds. His speed and defense would be horendous in those years too. I am talking overall cards that aren't a liability in the field. Bonds would be no better than soto last year.

It was insanity. Possibly the greatest eye at the plate ever and anything in the strike zone was liable to go 500ft... Why pitch to him at all..
Plus he just crowded that plate with his enormous elbow guard and wagged that bat. Scary AF -

True . But a Bonds Sig would be a max everything except arm... But yes, will never happen

Greatest offensive player of all time.

If you don't count the 1800's guys, 1913 Walter Johnson or 1923 Ruth are the correct answers.
If you want to count modern era only, 1985 Doc.

I think Prime cards consist of a 3 year span if I remember correctly. So, maybe 1955-57?

1967 Yaz did it all

I don't think a sig card would do that because they would take averages of all his season's and not just the roid years. I think his mvp cards of 2001 through what 2003?? would be max hitting stats but his defense would suck.

Yeah a prime card isn't a one year card. I think it's 3 or 5 average card..

Sig takes the peak of all his years. Not average. Which is why Sig cards are jacked

How about a 1999 Veteran Ted Williams "Still hits better than everyone" Diamond series card?
I also want a Barry Bonds evolution series card -- his rating doesn't increase, just his head size.

are you a red sox fan? his triple crown year wasn't better than most of may's best years or mantle's triple crown year. Did he steal bases? he was barely average in the field if i recall correctly but i may be wrong on that..
