I’d gladly take a ton of extra conquests and stat grinds to do away with moments. I didn’t mind moments too much (I enjoy the pitching ones a lot actually) until the Brian Anderson show of a moment

Just want to sincerely thank you guys for the feedback. This flipping cards thing you guys helped turn me onto is a game changer and I was able to scarf up DeGrom! Sheffield and Mantle are in the bank, and now it's onto finish the Trout collection! Thank you guys again!

If you have classic stadiums, Shibe Park is fairly easy to poke some out of. When I need to do some stat grinds against the CPU, Shibe is almost always my goto stadium for hitters.
-
As an offline player, give me all the conquests while jamming these moments straight up someone's [censored]. The Brian Anderson moment has single handedly has ruined any (which wasn't much) enjoyment I had for moments.

Until we get the cover player! Now this is if they stay with when they did it last year. October 21. I am excited to find out!
For obvious selfish reasons, I'd love to get like Luis Robert, Lucas Giolito, or Tim Anderson on the cover -- but I know that none of those guys are "household names" quite yet that will sell copies and kick off The Show's first year going cross-platform with The Show 21 releasing on the Xbox and PC.
With that in mind, I'd love to see multiple legends on the cover. Maybe they could get Hank Aaron, Pedro Martinez, Roberto Clemente, and Randy Johnson's rights and put all of them on the cover including other legends like Griffey Jr., Mantle, Bob Gibson, and Frank Thomas. I would love that!
Nevermind him being on the cover...as my favorite player in history, I just want Clemente in the game...

@BruceyBruce29 I envy you. Selling him is probably best if you don't want Mantle—hopefully SDS will make more of cards like him available to the market soon so I can afford him
Just out of curiosity, what’s your target price range for DeGrom? I’ve seen you mention that you needed to afford him to finish. I finally got him a couple weeks ago @ $205ish
Less than 100,000 stubs is my ideal price. I just can't afford much beyond that at the moment, at least not until I'm able to grind and flip cards from RIB conquest.
Unless his overall drops to an 89 like Cole or Mad Max, I don’t know that you’ll see it get under 135K (but I’m not expert on the market by any means)

I would go Maddux or Madmax before Orel. Just not a huge fan. And i have Maddux era for online down to 2.25
MadOK.
I will probably try out Maddux. Eventually, my dream rotation is, in no order, Maddux, Orel, MadMax, and not sure on the other 2 yet.Go get free Bob Gibson! Dudes a stud! I’m in the minority but I love Seaver and MadBum as well. If you use them correctly, Sig Series Lester and Vida are fun too! But without being smug, you actually have to know how to real life pitch to successfully use them because if you don’t sequence pitches well, they get hammered, even against the CPU

Bob Gibson is an animal when I use him offline. When I was at my brothers last weekend, and we played online with his account (my internet is awful at home) he hit and I pitched and I dominated with Gibson. Righty-righty changeup was devastating. Especially if you can tunnel it off his curveball. Hitters try to wait on it thinking the change is gonna drop like the curve and kept pounding it to third base

So instead if hitting into an ending inning double play; he was brave enough to try a suicide squeeze with the bases loaded.
Seems like good small ball.
Also, you start off the post with the words I do not see why all the hate then proceed to complain that he made a successful suicide squeeze.
So you call pressing a button and letting the game do the work brave? Interesting. Yes it is great small ball in real life where it takes skill to lay down a squeeze bunt but not in this game. Lastly, I was saying I do not see the hate because I do not see why people would hate on someone talking about the people who bunt dance and do all of that [censored] but what I was complaining about was someone letting the game bail them out to win a game. You say made a successful suicide squeeze as if the player actually had to do anything to get that down beside press a button. The game laid down a successful suicide squeeze, not the player I played.
And if he would've hit a Grand Slam to win it; would that have been the game 'bailing him out'? Because technically, all he had to do was, in your words, 'hit a button'.
Wrong. Like I told the other guy, in order to hit in this game you have to time the pitch up, get your pci to it and then press the x/square button so that actually takes some sort of skill. I would of had no issue if he hit a grandslam. Bunting is literally just pressing the triangle button and letting the game do the work so those are two totally different things.
Pretty sure you still need to move the PCI to bunt.
However; I assume we're discussing the game vs AMBBBY.
If so; this is the Game Log for the bottom of the 9th:
He doubled to left field with Yelich and then he bunted Yelich over to 3rd with Mondesi. I would say that's smart.
Then you proceed to walk the bases loaded by walking Ruth and Tatis.
He then comes up to bat with Jimmie Foxx. Who bunted to third and it looks like Brett bobbled the ball (says it was an Error).
Was it cheap to bunt with Foxx? Maybe. But he took a chance and it paid off.
Now, you're a 100 Prestige level player and have over 500 RS games played; so you've 'been around'.
He bunted earlier in the inning. Did you put you shift into Bunt Defense when he came up with Foxx?
Because someone with your 'play Time' would think that a bunt would catch me off surprise here; so I better be prepared.
You weren't prepared. He took a gamble and it paid off.
I think I can safely say that ANY competitive player would agree with me that it wasnt the game out 'bailing him out'. It was just a situation where he knew your defense and took a shot.
Sorry but you're wrong again with two things. First off you literally don't need to use your pci to bunt. Just press triangle and the computer does the work for you. Second, he did bunt with Mondesi which I have no problem with because it was a sac bunt which is fine to me. Third, I had the third and first baseman playing in for Foxx with the second baseman and shortstop back in case he hits a grounder up the middle for a double play so my defense was exactly as it should have been. There was no error, it was a hard bunt right to Brett (who was playing in) and thee was no bobble. He stole and bunted so by the time Brett got the ball the runner on third was a few steps from home so there was no chance so don't assume I was not prepared when I literally was. Anyways I just don't believe in winning that way. That's not the way I would go about it just like I wouldn't ask for prestige stats in event games like a lot of these players but it is what it is. Have a good day.
Honestly, this is whiney, sore loser talk. As a baseball coach, he got you, plain and simple. You didn't suspect a bunt in that situation, otherwise you'd of thrown a ball high and tight trying to get a pop up (which would result in a gimme double play or down and in to make it where he either 1) bunts it foul or 2) whiffs and you get the guy stealing at the plate. You can argue that the game did the work for him and it took no skill all you want, but at the end of the day, the same can be said that you showed no skill either by not scheming around it with how you were pitching to Foxx.

Hey everyone,
First post, and first year of playing DD. I'm a baseball coach and one of my assistants finally talked me into playing DD over the 4th of July. My internet at home is absolutely horrendous so I don't play Ranked Season or anything online (mostly because it's virtually impossible with my internet where I live. Anyways, I am one card away from completing the LS collection, all I need is DeGrom. What is the best way I can go about getting him without having to spend $100 to get 150K worth of stubs? My stub count currently is around 60K because I've had to spend my stubs to obtain the cards for LS and Trout collections (I'm close on Trout as well.) Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I appreciate the replies! I'm in the middle of two showdowns right now. I've mostly accumulated a lot of my guys playing Conquest and Moments. I've done the RIB, and that was my plan before asking this question. Honest question (because I sincerely don't know) I'm not familiar with "flipping" cards and how any of that works. If these boards are anything like any other message boards I read for sports, then I would imagine that giving strategy like that is frowned upon on these boards, so instead of asking for help with that, is there a thread or a youtube video or anything that anyone recommends to learn?
-
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback! I grinded the RIB conquest 6 times yesterday. Unless he sky rockets on the market today, I should be able to grab him by lunchtime.
And shoutout to the poster about Ance, appreciate that tip!

Oh no! We all share strategies out here. "Flipping" is a core strategy of the NMS crowd (no money spent). I buy the game, but I don't ever buy stubs. Think about "flipping" like the stock market... buy low, sell high.
Here's a quick video about how to make stubs without flipping:
Thank you! I appreciate this, A LOT! I can't say I'm entirely in the NMS crowd, I did buy 300,000 stubs when it was the 50% off sale in I think it was late spring because of RTTS (and honestly, 300K stubs for the price of 150K justified the $100 in my mind haha). But, I hated Madden last year so this is the only game I play now (at least until they bring back NCAA FB) so I kind of looked at that $100 as being my annual Madden purchase. Point being though, I was okay with spending $200 on this counting game cost and the extra stubs, but I don't want to have more than $200 in it (hopefully I make sense).
Thanks again for the link, I appreciate it!

Well, now that I've gotten hooked on Diamond Dynasty, I'll start playing it ASAP when I get TS21. I never played DD until July 4th, as I've always played RTTS. And I would sell every single card to collect stubs for the equipment. Won't be making that mistake anymore!

I didn't do much DD last year. To start off this year, I sold every card I got in a pack unless it was a gold or diamond.
I won't be doing that next year!I'd never done it mostly because I was a RTTS person, and I'm not a fantasy sports player (which is what I always thought of Diamond Dynasty as being without ever trying it. I always thought you like fantasy drafted a team and played like a franchise type season that way. One of my assistant coaches FINALLY talked me into trying it, and well, thank goodness I did. I enjoy RTTS, and I'll play it next year. But I won't waste stubs on gear for RTTS.

I have never struggled with a moment like this one.
That Brian Anderson 3 XBH Topps Now moment is pretty bad too.
Worst one I’ve ever done. Absolutely can’t get this one done. I got the KH one second try. Brian Anderson, I get two, can’t get the third. The last three times I tried:
Attempt one: HR, HR, BB, HBP, IBB
Attempt two: HR, BB, HR, HBP
Attempt three: HR, HR, robbed HR, diving catch CFAt the point of saying F it and not doing it

Flip PS cards. Easy money right now
Ehh, people are getting stupid with it IMO with unnecessary undercuts. Nate Jones for example, you could buy him this morning for 115 stubs and sell him for 8K, and people have shot themselves in the foot and have it down to sell for like 345 stubs last I looked. I made 117K stubs just flipping him earlier today before people started cutting the orders down by 50% at a clip. Stupid if you ask me...
-
Sig Series Lofton for RF and Eugenio Saurez for 3B. Lofton is a budget player and Saurez is free
-
I started playing DD for the first time July 4th, and I’ve rocked with Ernie Banks from Day 1. I got him in a pack and was going to sell him for stubs for my RTTS guy, but my buddy talked me into starting DD instead when I got Ernie

Building off the Young Stars Idea what if they have 3 differnt covers, 1 for each system?
Oooh. I like that!
Under the condition that IF you preorder, you can pick your cover between the 3 players...
It would really tick me off if say Clemente was on the cover of X-Box and I didn’t have the option to get him on the cover of PS4.
If they had 3 covers it would be 3 current players and it would be a specific one for each console but if you pre order on PSN you get a 99 of all 3 guys!
I’d mess around and support this idea!
I hate moments with the fiber of my being
