Coach forever gets a pass because he channeled the entire community's thoughts last year when he asked, 'Where are the Diamonds, Ramone?'

I tend to purchase every other year. And I've made it a rule never to buy the first iteration of a sports game on a new console, especially if I still have the previous generation's machine. Seems like the resources are split and neither version is as good as they could be.

I haven't played Super Mega Baseball since the 1st game, but I believe it does something similar; coaches have contracts and various bonuses they can 'gift' to the team, but you can only have so many and so you have to pick and choose what's important to you.

Ellsbury is always my first go-to for this question. I was so pleasantly surprised with his swing. If you don't want to spend on the 99 Bellinger, his POTM is great too.

Bellinger loses to Belle, but Trout with a full season would of still won. My god Trout is on another level when you look at the stats, he's good, everyone knows that but just looking at the stat line drives it home even further.

Bellinger was worth 9.1 bWAR vs. Belle's 7.1 bWAR and played a harder position - RF vs. LF. I doubt he loses to Belle....if the vote was still in 2019. In '98 tho...who knows.

You'd be banking on a Rare HRD card to make your money back. But everyone's flush with cash, so what else you gonna spend it on?

I'll say it since no one else has; SS Jackie. He's my end-game 2B every year. He ticks the boxes you want, plus he's free, and the grind for him pays out great rewards if you haven't started it yet. That being said, Finest Mookie would be my next choice. My goodness that card is a problem.

I believe it was LS A. Chapman. Really early on too.

I don't. My Red Sox team has players ONLY in Red Sox uniforms. Which I know makes ZERO sense because they're wearing my DD uniforms anyway when I play. It just bugs me for some reason.

Looking at it that way, it makes sense. But I think you would have to have both RS players agree.
When you are getting into a game, maybe have it say "This player is requesting that we use an orange ball."
You can say yes, and play, or no, and he can try again. Thoughts?

Lol, I promise you, no matter what the ball color is, if it's RS, my opponent is gettin' that DUB REGARDLESS. But I do see your point. I think it was one of the earlier CoDs that would let you change enemy silhouette color from red/green to something else, which, I think, put me on an EVEN playing field with other players. (Lack of talent notwithstanding). Like...at what point does it constitute an 'unfair' advantage?

Yeah I mean...it's apples and oranges comparing 2B and C, but Piazza has a better slash line, 50 more homers and 400 less strikeouts even though he had 1800 less plate appearances, so even with his defensive deficiencies, (and C is probably more difficult than 2B), Piazza still has an overall positive career dWAR and Kent does not. Hall of Fame discussions are always fun; again, to me, I don't think he makes it, but it wouldn't upset me like Baines did. Like, it's not completely indefensible to vote Kent in; I just think he'll get voted in by the VC and not the BBWAA writers, if he goes in at all.

7. I'm picking one team from each division and I'm on my second go-round. Plan to finish them all. Mainly because I love Conquest; but the rewards are very nice.

I'm in the 160s so I'm hopeful I can get him by the end of the week.
