    Extreme No-Hitter
  • Bizien10_PSNB Bizien10_PSN

Was about to go to bed last night and decided to give the God Squad Extreme Moment on Legend a try. Glad I did. On the first try, I threw a 12 inning combined no-hitter. It was my first no-no on any difficulty level in any version of The Show so I was super pumped. My inability to hit (30 strikeouts) was frustrating but I finally got a pinch hit homer by Joe Torre in the 12th to give me a 1-0 lead.

Anyway, I don't mean to brag, but I know the people on here will understand my excitement (and my wife certainly doesn't wanna hear about it)!

  • How long is a ban when the said i was boosting but my name was homerun with bellinger i quit and then he caught the ball

I played someone the other day whose team name was "Stop Asking for Stats N Play." I really appreciated that.

Pause the game and go into the game log. It tells you the distance there without annoying the opponent.

Majority of LS cards were all outclassed within a month. I would love to see LS Trout on an end game lineup.

Yes! The only difference between Trout this season and the year his MVP card is from is that he may actually be better this year. No reason his LS shouldn’t be endgame.

  • Anyone Else Having Baserunning Issues? (SDS??)

@ThaGhettoBlasta said in Anyone Else Having Baserunning Issues? (SDS??):

I have a brand new controller, so I don't think the buttons are sticking...but for some odd reason even when you're legging out a double it shows 3B before you round second. If you hit R1 to stop it from going to 3B, it jumps directly to 1B and send him back. Same thing with runners on. I know there is a way to take control of the individual runners, but never learned how to do it exactly.

I've been having this problem for months. My runners keep rounding second and going to third even though I let go of L1 when the runner is still less than halfway between 1st and 2nd. If I let go any earlier, the runner goes back to 1st.

Initially I thought my controller was sticking so I switched to my other controller and it does the same thing. This also only happens online for me - offline I have no problems at all.

I don't think he has put up numbers like he did this year, did he? I could be wrong because I did not check his career stats before posting this comment, but this year he was in the MVP conversation while last year he wasn't even amongst the best hitters on the Yankees. And well, the Cardinals did get rid of him so I doubt he made much impact there.

He definitely didn't do anything with the Cardinals. Even when he first got to the Yankees he was in AAA for a bit. But since joining the Yankees he's played 213 games and gone .273/.372/.543 with 57 HR and 147 RBI with 6.3 bWAR. I'm not sure if he'll ever replicate what he did this season, but I do think he'll remain a very good hitter.

I honestly think Voit is a one year wonder. Arozarena way too early to tell.

Voit, when healthy, has pretty consistently put up these type of numbers since he joined the Yankees. I've been saying he's just a flash in the pan for three years and he just keeps proving me wrong. I'm sold at this point.

  • Analog vs. Meter Pitching
  • Bizien10_PSNB Bizien10_PSN

I’ve been using meter pitching for as long as I’ve been playing this game. I’ve heard a lot of people saying analog is better and I’m considering making the switch. What are the advantages or disadvantages of using analog pitching?

Next time your wife says she won’t listen to you, just take away her Charga-plate and cut off her allowance. She may put up a fight, but the next time she needs to get her hair done, she’ll be back. She’ll be back.

Oh no, she’d listen. But word of advice, when you’re wife spends all day working, cooking, cleaning, and taking care of your baby, it’s never a good idea to tell her about your video game accomplishments.

Also, it ain’t 1954, my wife don’t get an allowance. Wtf lmao.

Completely agree. I always have the US conquest map going to get some casual offline games in and grind offline stat missions. It's so nice to get bigger rewards faster with the RIB map.

  • Can't Hit With Mantle
  • Bizien10_PSNB Bizien10_PSN

@raesONE said in Can't Hit With Mantle:

I'm gonna say something totally opposite; if you don't like a guy or don't perform well with him, just go with someone else and don't tell yourself to keep giving him try after try just because he was that expensive to acquire or because his attributes across the board look so great.

At the end of the day, you not performing well with him will become a thing you're mentally aware of everytime he's up to the plate. It's much smarter to go with a guy you're more confident with, even though the attributes might not be as great.

As an example, Mike Piazza is by far the best hitting catcher in the game. On paper. In reality, I can't hit with him if my life would depend on it, while others do fine with him. His swing is just so slow it seems. So I could go on and on and keep trying to get it going. But I'd much rather play Posada behind the dish who is far worse when you look at the attributes, but his swing is quick and smooth and I absolutely demolish the baseball with him. So when he's up, I'm feeling good and confident instead of having to worry about his slow swing like I do with Piazza. That decision making will win me games down the line.

Thanks for the input. Definitely won’t stick with him just because of cost. Tbh, I really enjoyed doing the collections for Mantle and Trout (after starting with DD in late July) so it was worth it for me even if the cards don’t perform. What keeps Mantle in my lineup really is that I know what he can do even if I haven’t quite figured out how to get him to do it yet. I just keep running him out there hoping something clicks, but I also realize it may never click.

I think your point about it being a mental thing is a good one. I’ll probably take a little time off with Mantle and try coming back to him. In the meantime, I want to give Cobb and Yelich a shot in the OF. I love LS Yelich’s swing and so far Cobb has been a beast for me offline. One of them may even unseat Ellsbury who is one of those cards I just hit well with even though there’re better options out there.

@Mickdrenalen said in Can't Hit With Mantle:

This is exactly why I do not lock in that many stubs for one player. I have no idea if I will hit well with him or not and I'm not locking in over a million stubs to find out.

I can definitely understand that view point. For me, doing the collections was more fun in and of itself than pretty much anything else I've done in the game, so it's worth it even if I don't hit with the player. For what it's worth, I kind of had a feeling I wouldn't hit with Mantle or Trout because I wasn't great with their other cards, but the collections were enjoyable for me (and I have hit pretty well with Trout).

  • Why can't I hit all of a sudden ?!?
  • Bizien10_PSNB Bizien10_PSN

I had an event game last night where I had more good/good than I typically get, but got no-hit for the three innings. Every good/good ended up just being a lazy fly ball. I don't expect to get a hit every time on good/good, but it did seem like the success rate on those swings was unusually low for me last night. Could just be one of those things where it'll even out over time though.

EDIT: I should also add that in 2019 he played much of the year injured which depressed his production. When healthy last year I believe his production was similar to this year.

I knew I could do that, but wish I could see it without pausing.

I agree it would be nice if they just showed the distance as the batter crossed the plate. I usually just wait until the game is over and then just check the log after but it's definitely not the same as knowing in the moment.

  • People who finished extreme moments
  • Bizien10_PSNB Bizien10_PSN

I think I started Seaver, but only threw him for 2 or 3 innings. Only pulled him for a pinch hitter early because I knew runs would be hard to come by. It worked out, because I ended up pitching a combined 13 inning no-hitter. Finally hit a pinch-hit home run in the top of the 13th to give me the win.

On the HRD team moment I ended up taking this approach as well after failing many times with a few different starters and got it the first try. Just completely emptied the pen and played the matchups with my three lefties against Cano and Griffey. So, in my experience, going to the pen early and often is a recipe for success in these moments.
