This is my post on reddit. The amount of crazy things that has happened in RS this year to make me lose has been demoralizing. I’ve lost games in every way imaginable I’m 68-68 at one point 15 over .500 and steadily declined until I got here. I won WS 3 times last year and maxed out at 986. I enjoy collecting and playing with the cards but winning games you played well in was also fun too. Now it’s like idk if I’m playing roulette or baseball anymore. I just want to have fun like hers past. Not dominate a game then in the bottom of the 9th walk the bases loaded and give up a GS to lose.
MANNY RAMIREZ idc if its Indians Manny or Red Sox just give me his sweet swing! If not him I need some Jim Thome love. Hell if we are talking realistic players to see in the game I have a bunch and most I think are people I haven’t seen named in previous posts.

So many more could be named and the obvious requests from years past but we have so many borderline HOFs missing and just plain old cool players from the 90s that hopefully we will get since this year is predominantly new 90s legends.
This game is worse than 18. 19 was decent in comparison but this is a [censored] show like my team in 2k and MUT in Madden. It’s only made for those who know how to play the video game. Trying to apply baseball logic to a video game no matter how bad of an attempt at it being a simulation, will make you go crazy. No need to go into detail about all the problems with the game just enjoy what you can from it. The more we complain about it the more frustrated we get. I’m at a point where once this pandemic is over I don’t really want to play this much anymore it’s honestly become a bad game because of micro transactions people use to obtain who they think will make them better.
I’m 91-91 and honestly feel like I’m my own downfall. Yea I run into guys occasionally that hit everything but it happens it’s a video game not a realistic simulation. I feel like finally figuring out how to avoid as many meatballs as possible has helped. I just can’t ever consistently replicate my PCI placement to get good hits game to game. I made it to 706 DS but have been stuck in WC since. Last year I made WS 914 max 3 out of 7 months of trying. So I don’t feel I’m terrible but I’m not the best either obviously. I just feel like this years game is way more random than last year. I wish they would push out more updates to fix issues because more people are playing but also more developers are home seeing game data that obviously needs adjustments.
The issues I’m having with the content is 80% is recycled. If we want to get technical outside of the Team Affinity Prospects its 100% recycled. Each Inning program so far has included someone that was a mainstay in line ups last year. They also are already recycling the new “Legends”. Roberts has already been in lineups as a gold since week 1. Victorino also has been widespread from team collections. Chipper has been around forever. At this rate we wont get too many ‘new” legends until near end of the games life. We will get the best versions of Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Ortiz, etc at a time when The game is almost obsolete. SDS could have had some decency to sneak in an Albert Belle or player of his quality its been 2 years. I’d rather have him again instead of Bob Feller’s racist [censored] again and again.
The pitching is by far the worst in a release I’ve played. I hope they compensate people with packs for this especially since it has caused so much grief and for those that aren’t “elite” a significant number of unnecessary losses.
Lindor’s speed is the most disrespectful thing I’ve seen. He may not steal at the rate he used to but he is not this slow.
For this BS that SDS has given us to deal with and no need of an update to fix it. Do you think they will gift us packs to make up for the terrible quality of RS? I’ve never seen it this bad before and I feel we are owed something for the trouble.
Gagne Vulcan change and curveball if locates and mixed in with a slider or fast ball are literally unhittable

It’s sad anyone that defends pitching this year. I’ve played DD for years and it’s never been this bad. Most of the time pitch locating would be a few inches here and there. This year it legit hangs right over the middle. No excuses for pitching or hitting this year. The game is just bad.
18 was no where near this bad. Pitching and fielding are horrible this year.
There’s no baseball skill in this game. I hear people taking about you’re just not good etc. If you play it like it’s an unrealistic arcade game then you can’t call it a real baseball simulation because this year is abysmal in that perspective.
This is by far the worst iteration of the show.

How exactly is Bob Feller racist?
Look up Bob Feller on google. All the back handed remarks and word choice for people of color was blatant. I’m a tribe fan so I heard it on the radio for years and read numerous articles. Eventually some one called him out for it. He decided to call into a radio show argue he wasn’t but it didn’t fool anyone he got mad and hung up. His demeanor was easily read as not caring much for people of color whatsoever.
Gonna need some links/proof of that bud

Outside of him pushing to get Satchel Paige signed and allowing Negro League players to tour with him his comments about Hispanic players as he got older and his public feud with Jackie Robinson told the true story. This isn’t like Ty Cobb who many believed him to be racist but only went off here say. There’s numerous people over the decades that will tell you Feller was ignorant in many different ways.
So, the first article about the radio show really doesn’t mean much. From what I can tell, the interviewer just kept asking the same question after it had been answered, then kept calling Feller a racist even after he explained that he wasn’t. I don’t blame him for hanging up in that situation. If people have an agenda they want to carry out, there’s only so much you can do to change their minds.
As far as the feud with Robinson goes, I think it’s clear that they had two distinct personalities that clashed, not because of race though. Robinson asked why baseball didn’t have a black manager after 20 years of integration, and fellers response was basically that a black man shouldn’t get a job just for the sake of diversity. If he earns it, he earns it. That’s my interpretation of it. Besides, everything I’ve read says they were good friends again before Robinson died.
Feller clearly had many black teammates and willingly played with/against them without issues, so calling him a blatant racist seems incredibly unfair.
Blatant racist maybe not but a John Rocker type yes. Rocker wasn’t a racist, he’s done some interviews years later and seems pretty cool even has a black gf now and had others in the past. He just was a bigot that said what he pleased and did what he pleased. Sometimes when you are raised a certain way its hard to be impartial to every one when your environment seems to target certain types of people. Was he a product of his environment, maybe, but did he do anything to try to keep from being labeled one, no. Saying and doing are two different things. Anyone can say something to try to defend themselves but if their actions contradicted the perception then a direct explanation wouldn’t be necessary, People who feel they have to publicly defend themselves in a less than calm manner always have something to hide,
But what did he do that would label him as racist though? I don’t think disagreeing with a black man makes somebody racist, especially when there’s been many other cases of him supporting and helping lots of other black players.
As for your last point, I don’t think that’s necessarily true. When you’re defending yourself against somebody that clearly is going to call you a racist no matter what you say, I’d imagine it gets extremely frustrating to deal with said person. At some point you just have to realize that the person is a lost cause, and there’s no point in wasting your time on them anymore.
His way of talking about Hispanic players was what really set people off. I see you most likely want to defend him because you are white and I understand but the bigger picture of things is the fact that when a person of color says something it’s teen for what it was perceived. When a white persons does there’s always a loophole or way to advert. I am multi racial I see every aspect, I am in no way pro Black Lives Matter or Make America Great Again but I do see the scrutiny behind how people tend to favor an explanation for one rather than the other. So take it for what you want “bud” but I like baseball and the people involved but Bob Feller wasn’t a stand up guy.
My point about people being a lost cause applies here.
Clearly I’m not going to change your opinion, just as you’ve done nothing to change mine.
At the end of the day, neither of us knew him personally. I haven’t seen a single statement of his that sounds racist in any way to me.
So you see the scrutiny behind how people tend to favor one explanation over another, yet you’re here making assumptions that Bob Feller was racist based on statements that you want to perceive as racist, but which in reality aren’t. Alright.
Everything I’ve seen says Feller was actually a pretty great guy.
Typical but its cool I know what my ears have heard and have read just like you know your racial bias, back to baseball folks!

It’s also ironic because last year he had a signature card that was almost 100k less than his LS.

So after playing almost 300 RS games I think I have come to the realization of how this happens with pitching.
Hear me out.
When preparing to locate a pitch. You put it in a certain vicinity and the controller feedback vibrates and sometimes won’t allow you to initial the meter. That is because the opponents PCI is already hovering in that section and its a way of warning you they are already set up to expect a pitch there.
Now here is where things get weird/ conspiracy theories kick in.
If there is any algorithm built into the game then its so many possibilities for how it gives some one a competitive advantage or some how makes the playing field more “even”.
This perspective is contingent on whether you try to force the pitch into that location or if you choose to go else where.
Say for example you are trying to force high sinkers or fastballs and the PCI is sitting in that location and you get feedback warning then you have the option to move it or be adamant, the choice is up to the user, right? Some times I feel it is sometimes I don’t
This is why.
I have tried to pitch a person away from where they usually hold their PCI. To find this out I usually test with a few pitches.
If they sit dead center a pitch away roughly belt high that’s either a sinker or change up will tell you based on the feedback. Using pitchers with change ups that aren’t too slow and don’t dive too much are best or pitchers with slower sinkers with a lot of movement.
Late swing means they anticipates something faster and down the middle to lower. Early swing means they anticipated something higher and faster.
There are many different iterations for fooling the hitter but its all contingent on how they are sitting for the fast ball. Some like it high, some like it in some like it away and others, very few just can hit anything.
Now here is where it gets weird.
After determining the preferred PCI location you can start to notice more why the ball hangs or gets miss located where it does.
The most common place for it to hang is dead center and honestly this year for perfect/perfect hits that’s where most people will want to sit. Occasionally you will throw a ball else where and it will hang in a different vicinity and I think that’s because of where the PCI sits. Unless your timing is very bad and you have the yips and drop the PCI too often most of the pitches hung with in a certain zone are hit pretty well.
I notice this way too often. This year I have made it common practice to check the feedback after every pitch for everything I throw. I haven’t found a way to consistently avoid this because a lot of the time on perfect releases on the corners or the edge of the zone you will see a pitch hang and end up 6 inches plus outside of the zone.
The more you pay attention to the game the more this happens. After you make it past 700 and into the harder difficulties its less apparent but there still will be occasion where you are baffled at why a pitch went no where near where you threw it and by the time it left your hand it was already a no doubt home run.
Jung is a monster. Luis Castillo is low key good. Clarke Schmidt and Brudsar are pretty solid and Kyle Wright is nice. The rest are cool Imo outside of these guys I have I only went after Nolan Jones. I didn’t want to invest too much in the others because when stage 3 comes out I need some stubs to get who I want then and properly allocate the funds lol.
