I usually don’t complain (usually just about my horrid pack luck) or defend them, but I have to comment on this post.

1. the ability to make “base” cards a little better just by playing the game and gathering stats seems cool (like rookie to prime some years ago-or evolution this year)
2. playing a mode that requires in-game currency that we can earn by just playing, and with any skill at all, we can earn back the entry fee as well as vouchers used for getting better cards? Your shiny tinfoil hat is showing here, Poopsy.
3. I haven’t had any network issues-some would say you need to stop using Burger King’s internet.
4. And not to mention, there are some people that just like to complain. This has been a constant complaint in these forums for years.

If it isn’t fun for you, find another game. And don’t think of sending the “but I love baseball so much” or “if we don’t bring up the issues, they will never fix them” responses. If you really, truly loved baseball, you would make the adjustments and enjoy it for what it is intended, entertainment. And I’m sure, since the devs brought up many of these issues in the dev tourney and many of the MLBers brought up the issues (again) in the players tourney, the complaints made daily on this forum are just worthless fodder. They know. The horse is dead. How about we let it Rest In Peace?

Maybe instead of your passive-aggressive thread, you could create a thread that provides solutions? How do you like the percentage completion on the TA programs? That was my idea back in March on this very forum.

Give it a shot, a positive attitude is more powerful than a trip to negativetown.

If we switched Jeff Kent and Todd Helton's teams that year (Helton playing at Pac Bell and Kent playing in Coors) and extrapolated their numbers, this isn't even a contest.

I did a little math and swapped Kent's numbers (extrapolated 7 games at Coors to be 80 games and his home games from 80 to 7 and kept the others the same) and here is what I got for the year 2000.

Didn't do Helton's numbers, but that year (2000) at Pac Bell, his splits were:

Nope. I am a HS teacher and a JV baseball coach. Our regular season starts Tuesday! But MLBTS20 will be fired up any chance I get. Maybe I’ll have to play the market daily until I can get on the game. Lol

I would also like Scott Rolen and Troy Glaus.

I mean, Manny Ramirez has to be coming sometime soon, right? They have all of his defensive animations in the game already if you have seen Griffey Jr play the OF. They really only need the "LF becomes the relay man" animation and call it a wrap!

Hey man. I'm with you on the faster pitch speeds and smaller PCIs, but this late in the games life cycle, what's the point? SDS knows the complaints (as they have been well documented at this point). Just seems like you are pissing into a head wind.

Your opinion has validity, but as Skep has pointed out, you always seem to do this after a loss. That was his point.

You claim to deserve 250 more wins than you have, but are speaking of beating several top players. If you think that you are getting screwed out of wins because you are playing (and losing) to "lesser" opponents, couldn't the same be said for your wins vs several top players? Do they feel screwed when the "Little Billy Code" goes in your favor?

Yes the game is a little off, and honestly, I agree with your assessment that they are trying to make everyone happy (as I've been saying for years). As a company that is trying to sell as many copies as possible, isn't the point to try and make everyone happy? It's tough enough to make the "elites" happy, but they comprise such a small amount of the overall population of the game that SDS cannot ignore the majority of it's player base.

I believe with these ESL tournaments and "custom leagues", SDS is setting themselves up for their best chance to make "everyone happy". With the game going cross-platform and with the next gen consoles right around the corner, I believe we are going to see the return of Online Franchise and a distinct separation between "casual" and "competitive" gamers.

I think that Ranked Seasons will continue as it is (let's call it Regular Season for right now), being the "catch all" for H2H games, but there will be another mode (let's call it Post Season for the time being) where the ultra competitive gamers (like most of those in the ESL tournaments) can flex their muscles for increased rewards (maybe like COTW-autographed bats, 50k stubs etc) in something like a hybrid between BR and RS, where there are tiered levels with rewards (RS) but there is a loss limit (like BR).

So say you've reached WS in Regular Season and have some time to kill. You hop onto Post Season and can play only against other players that have made WS that season. You win 3 games (without losing 2), you get 25k stubs. You win 6 games (without losing 2), you get 50k stubs. You win 9 games...you see where I'm going. When you lose 2 games, you get kicked from the "session" and have to restart your run.

Just an idea obviously, but with the increase in "new" players to the franchise, and the fact that they are throwing their hat into the egaming ring, I can see them giving us 2 differing online 9 inning game modes.

Or at least that would appease many folks maybe??

I would like the return of:
A) The Ticket Counter (and of course, Tickets)-I also think one could use tickets to buy bundles of packs (or packs in packs or rookie packs or flashback packs etc)
B) My Career (I think when we accumulated stats as we played to earn rewards-like 100 3Bs and you got stubs and packs or diamond cards etc)
C) Rookie to Prime stat grinds etc (Rookie to AS to IV and Prime) from 16
D) Keep the Inning Program structure but also add in the Programs like the “Positional/Career Arcs” (no immortals please) for silver/gold/diamond cards from 18 for those that just want to grind for cards (like moments in a way-but you get cards for completing each one) I’m good with SS cards, but would like a lot more (doesn’t have to be high end but players like Will Clark, Joe Carter, Mark Prior, Joe Torre, Fred McGriff amongst others that were diamonds but didn’t seem to make the cut).

Jim Thome, Pedro Martinez, Manny Ramirez, Randy Johnson for some top shelf guys.
I would also like to see these switch hitters make their way into the game in some form (flashbacks, AS cards etc)
Lance Berkman, Mark Teixeira, Bernie Williams, Carlos Baerga, Fernando Tatis Sr, Chili Davis, Tim Raines, Mickey Mantle, Howard Johnson, Bobby Bonilla, Maury Wills and I'd like Carlos Beltran back (but I don't know if his recent issues would prevent him from re-entering the MLBTS franchise).

So since they have Dennis Martinez now, What are the chances they spring for Ramon and Pedro Martinez now? Might as well, right???

I’m not usually one to complain but if I’m having trouble getting around on a high and tight 89 MPH Greg Maddux “sinker” when I’m camping up and in but I’m early on Prime Oswalt’s 97 MPH high and tight 4 seam, something ain’t stirring the kool-aid man.

I haven’t had the fielding issues everyone else seems to have, but I went from being able to hit above average with power to struggling to string together hits. So there’s that.

Not dwelling on it constantly...but this is the forum for the game...where you can air your grievances....and I really think the overall gameplay in this year's show is by far the worse I've experienced...it does feel more like a beta than a finished product.

Actually, they said if you have grievances, to email them directly or submit bug reports.

The true purpose of this forum is to congregate and converse about things like strategy, gameplay tips, best/worst players to use or to gather other advice from the community. Not to “rant” or “complain” or spout forth conspiracy theories or insult the company of a game YOU decided to purchase a game from. This leads to forum toxicity.

Those who continuously buy this game (year in and year out according to their own “rants”) only to constantly pontificate about its shortcomings need to find something else to spend their money on. This will lead to less forum toxicity.

In summation,
Complaints and bugs are to emailed to SDS or fill out bug reports or there will be toxicity.
Constructive criticisms, strategies, advice etc. passed around the forum will lead to an overall better experience for everyone.

Just my humble opinion.

Hunter Pence is a good dude. He could teach a lot of people about patience and perseverance.
