I like DD but I’ve really just left it behind when I got OOTP 21. I guess I’m just tired of batting .200 with great cards lol

I can get doubles without too much of a hassle but these home runs are not easy. In all my playing, I only hit 1 with Kaline and it was a fluke.

@iLurk84 said in Why the hitting engine turned into a cash grab:
For the first week of MLB 20 I was having the time of my life. I didn’t care about diamonds yet because the golds I was using were mashing. I figured it’ll be great to save stubs, grind with cards wouldn’t typically use if I wanted to compete competitively online. I knew in a month or two I would have to move on from the golds and budget beasts.
Fast foreword post patch 1.04
Now it’s a RNG fest covered up by user input not being properly rewarded. Now I feel I need all the best cards just to overcome the god awful hitting engine these developers tinkered with just to have a chance. Those golds that were mashing now can’t hit anything. The low diamonds are better just not good enough. The high diamonds mash because RNG.. so now I’m back on a race to get the best cards possible and the game turned into a job instead of what it’s meant to be.. a escape from reality to have fun for a couple hours.
And when it feels that way it’s much easier to swipe a credit card then to grind with golds because you can’t win or hit. And the next best card out you think will be the one that gets you back to that day 1 feel so you go do that again once the cards get better and better.
why don't we all copy this post and submit it as feedback to SDS' support page and sprinkle a little personalization through out? Since we're all stuck at home, it won't hurt

You might consider me an offline player. When I boot up the game I start with some RTTS, play a few games. Gets me primed up and I earn some XP.
After that I get into Moments (right now going thru the Eckersley evolution). I like being able to play towards specific achievements in a certain amount of time. Although the offensive Moments are tough for me when you need multiple XBH or collect a number of bases.
Then if I’m in the mood I give Showdown a shot. I’ve got eliminated from the 1st inning program which I’m alright with because I was not patient with my batting. Usually the longer I play in a single playthru, the worse I get lol.
While I play for the fun and challenge of getting better, I guess my goal is to collect good cards without spending real money. I wish stubs were easier to come by and you earned more for playing RTTS.
I look forward to getting into MtO because I’m excited for the improvements. So far I wish we earned more stubs/xp in RTTS and that there was a mode in which you can use your DD team as a franchise team (if there is let me know).

I’m a Yankees fan at heart but also enjoy watching the Dodgers. Last season I was really into the Nationals’ run though.

I also thought that just before I got eliminated

Nice! I just got eliminated from the 1st Inning program. Being patient is extremely important. I now won’t expect to beat it all in one go.
-
Definitely have batting on dynamic settings. That way you can notice in real time when the difficulty raises or lowers hinting at what you need to work on.
When I started RTTS, I learned how to just LET THE FIRST PITCH GO. Just watch it go by and sometimes you can tell if it's a fastball or breaking ball. After that just have in your mind what you want and where.
Point is, during the beginning of an at-bat just let the pitches go until you have two strikes and have to DEFEND the plate. Meanwhile you watch the pitches and just learn how they move. Hope it helps!

I hear you man, I posted about this just earlier! My argument was just why have two modes that need stub entry fee? I never played Battle Royale because I knew I would just throw stubs at it and mostly lose. Showdown is moderately challenging which I appreciate, I just don't want to spend stubs to play a mode lol plz let me use it to buy packs

I mean, it's not to "risky" at all. Beat the first mini-boss and you've already made a profit.
Screaming that a little stub entry is wrong because people are going jobless just sounds like you're trying to stretch it into a much bigger issue then it is.never said it was wrong

Never said it was wrong. Just said leave it to Battle Royale. Why do 2 modes need an entry fee?
OOTP does Diamond Dynasty better than Diamond Dynasty
