I'm glad there aren't day 1 99 cards. That said, I have an almost all diamond lineup already. So gold/silver/bronze/commons are pretty much worthless before the game even begins. The grind complaint just sounds like players who want their toys right away. I mean, the game is baseball. Over and over again. Of course it's a grind. There's only so many ways to vary it. I still prefer a progression of cards/players, even if the range is only really 85->99.

Long time player - mostly a lurker. I've been playing The Show for maybe 5-7 years.

So I've played through most of the first program and had a few thoughts about this year's version so far. I miss the Inning Programs, and the separate programs from last year (Daily Moments being their own thing, etc.). Folding almost every thing into the FotF Program feels off, but this is all largely just a different way to organize mostly similar content. No big deal.

What I'm coming to realize is that (for me) the increased focus on Player XP is boring. Daily Moments give XP for the program. Other programs give XP for the program. Everything feeds into generic XP for the program and to me - that's dull. Likewise - a lot of playing goals / player performance goals have been re-configured to accruing XP. Before - you'd need HRs for power hitters. XBHs for your contact hitters. Maybe steals for your speedsters. SOs, saves, wins, even put-outs could used to all be goals for player missions. Now, everything is XP. And it's boring.

I'm still enjoying the game as there's lots to do (collections, MtO, showdowns, and I like the addition of mini-seasons). But the reorganizing of DD just seems to lack excitement with everything just XP based. Might just be me, but I thought I'd throw this out there. Now, I'll get to finishing up the first (inning/month) program and turn my attention to gathering more player/parallel XP.

Yeah, I ran into this bug too. Had a nice blowout win for once, and it ended up a loss. It's a shame because I was looking forward to this mode. It looked interesting, but now, can't trust playing it. Hope it actually gets fixed soon.

So I think I sorted things out on my end. The link from the twitch website to connect your Show account takes you to the main page (theshow.com). I logged in and dug around in My Account. Found the Dashboard page, but Linked Accounts / Twitch option was unconnected, without a clickable prompt to link it. I was logged in via my PS account, so I tried creating a Show Account. THEN I was able to link Twitch.

I feel like maybe this is where the disconnect is happening? Accounts like mine who successfully claimed drops in the past became unlinked. And re-connecting wasn't very easy/intuitive? Anyway - thanks for looking into it. As usual - I've really enjoyed the game this year.

I claimed 10 (five of each type). They are showing on the Twich/Drops/Inventory page. Never received any in game. Didn't worry too much about it but it would have been nice to receive.
(At the moment, I think I need to reconnect my account after changing Twitch PW earlier, but I'm thinking I can't currently do that with the servers down).

Just dropping in for this exact suggestion. Would love, love, love this. Right now - I can hardly see any TA2 goals, because the screen is filled with my Repeatable 100% TA1 goals.

Agreed. And it's past the point where it's just the typical internet ranters that are the ones complaining. Sounds like a lot of patient folk are just about done. It's ridiculous that the game is basically unplayable every day when people want to play it the most. And it's been 3 weeks. C'mon.

Was up for awhile and all was fine... now back to crashing. /sigh

It really is disappointing that a game I -want- to love, keeps metaphorically spitting in my face because it lacks basic functionality.

Honestly seems like it could be an issue with the backend database servers.

I'm saying no because the true answer of an unhandled server exception error in python, relates to the user (or in this case, console, ui or web) trying to access the data, the data being sent, and the user not accepting it. The user then tries to hit the data library again, and the data server says... I'm already here with your information silly.

I know it sounds stupid, but there's nothing wrong with the data. Most every case where you're getting booted, the game is saving your progress, you're not seeing it right away, but then it magically appears next time you successfully sync.

It does not usually save my progress. It usually loses it and I have to start over.

RTTS issues are separate from the DD side. Everyone I've spoken to, hasn't lost any DD progress. It shows back up once you're back in.

Wanted to thank you, @hoboadam_PSN. Your explanation as to your take on the servers was pretty helpful. Judging by what you mentioned, and what I've experienced - I've had decent success tonight getting in and playing some. (It could be coincidence but....) Your right in that DD progress usually isn't lost. I've lost player stats in conquest, but most other progress has been saved before the "crash". And since spamming the buttons to try and get "back in" seems to make things worse, what has seemingly worked for me several times tonight, is -not- doing something online and coming back in a few minutes. Each time, I've been able to get back to the DD menu and start playing again. Again, could be just a coincidence, but after days of frustration - I'll take it.

Wow. I think I've played the last seven years, and this is really bad. Game is completely unplayable right now. I'm too old for hot takes, and online ranting, but yeah, it's really bad, and disappointing.
