I enjoy Griffith Stadium - I’m a fan of big dimensional ball parks. Places a premium on outfield defense.

Crazy Battlefield can have 64 people in one lobby, flying jets, driving tanks, blowing up skyscrapers, people snipping from a mile away, close quarter combat, etc and it’ll run flawlessly. We can’t get two people playing baseball to have an enjoyable smooth online experience. Don’t even get me started on co-op
. It’s almost comical at this point.

I think you guys underestimate how much it can cost to get former player’s rights. There’s a reason it’s just ONE big legend released a year.
-
Online seems like the hitting windows are getting less and less consistent. Maybe a result from SDS not leasing as many serves this late into the season? It’s bee painful recently..

The rewards are better the higher you go, not sure why people would purposely want to lose.
It’s pride. A lot of people would rather win games, then sweat it out and have a chance at decent rewards. The great players are going to have enough stubs to buy the best players at this stage of the game anyway.

@Talkingben9558_XBL said in What’s everyone’s underrated card thus far?:
Junior Caminero. That card will probably be in my endgame lineup. He is criminally underrated. Probably the best hitting middle infielder ever
I agree! Him and Carlos Correa have top 5 right swings in the game
-
I’m talking about a low diamond, high silver, or one you never see many use, but for one reason or another you just love the card.
Mine is the 96 2nd Half Trea Turner. It amazes me I NEVER see him in Ranked - Just his swing alone is top tier, then add in the fact the majority of the meta starting and relief pitchers are lefty. He CRUSHES lefties. If nothing else a great bench bat to have, along with 99 SPD

Co-op games will just be him and Randy alternating now
Just have to sit inside, use ambush, and wait on the inside slider/fastball/sinker. You’re guaranteed to get 3-5 an inning against him. Also take pitches, A LOT of pitches. The first 2-3 innings just get use to seeing the ball coming out of his hand, the delievery, and try to pick up your opponent’s tendencies. The good thing about Sale is he usually has low stamina, after 3 innings you can start to do some damage against him.

I have given up on Ranked. I tried playing 4 games two nights ago and never made it out of the 3rd inning. 1 disconnect on my side and the other 3 on the opponents side. Haven't had disco issues all year until the last week. Did they shut a bunch of servers down or something with decreased player base?
That’s my guess. Shutting servers down late season with less people online helps cut cost.

The game is great, for what it is. Sure I could get upset, act like I don’t care, and go on to type a 750 word comment in the community forum. At the end of the day, it’s just not that important to me (and 98.999%) of the people who play this game. Sure online can lag, timing windows can be inconsistent, and fluky things can happen. It just doesn’t affect me in any way. I laugh at it, go outside, have other hobbies, and spend time with my daughter and do the things she enjoys. I don’t stream it for a living, nor I’m I playing 8+ hours a day to become a top 500 rated goon.
I think some people would really benefit from that mentality. The amount of 500+ word essays I see posted on here about lag, perfect perfect outs, same side matchup PCI shrinkage, RNG, etc is just so funny to me. It’s a video GAME, this time next year no one will care or remember what your online Ranked record is. Just have fun and if something doesn’t go your way, just laugh it off and play another game.
Life is too short for you guys to be getting this upset over virtual baseball

Competitive online play. Hardcore baseball fan, so The Show has always been my go to sports game. To me, it’s the only sports game with an actual skill gap. Madden, FIFA, NHL, 2K, you can buy yourself wins. MLB you can take someone who is above average and give them a 99 God squad and put them up against YFK, OhChev, Mangoes, etc with an all silver team and the more talented player wins 95% of the time

As a Sox fan, I'll take a Varitek. I liked his earlier cards. As for Giambi, it's weird... I don't WANT to like his cards, but I always love them.
Giambi has that typical meta swing. It’s short, compact, and quick through the zone. It’s the best way to get to outlier fastballs on HoF and legend. It’s why Trout, Corey Seager, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, etc are always wildly popular among the competitive player base

My thoughts: Awesome improvements in game design & power creep … Starting from the all-star-break, „the creep“ got too steep too quickly
I agree with all of this. Love the power creep, makes for more competitive and diverse online play. With that said, it did seem like we went from decent 95’s to top tier 99’s in what felt like just a few weeks time.
I get that the All Star content is always SDS’s biggest draw for the player base, but man I wish the creep was a more steady, consistent incline.
Still, I will take any type of power creep over last year’s Sets and Seasons. Whew, that was such a swing and miss.
-
Trout. If for nothing else than the 3-4 best cards/pitchers in the game are lefties. Both great cards, but man that Trout just destroys everything!
-
I’ll download this as soon as I get home today! This sounds amazing. I also concur, SDS please offer this man a position on the team.
-
The input lag/latency is atrocious recently. Pitches almost warping to the plate, timing windows seemingly non existent, and noticeable delay with pci placement. I too thought with a lower player base it would free up the demand on thier servers. I’m guessing SDS may shut down some of thier servers later in the year to help cut cost? The game has always been a coin flip when it comes to playing online, but recently the bad experiences are far more frequent. It’s though, I love baseball and I truly love this game, just wish they would put more effort into improving online competitive play
-
Events has been a lackluster way to spend time for majority of people all year, since SDS nerfed the rewards on it. With that said, Moonshot has always been very popular for events. It’s a great way to pad stats for cards that players use in Rank. Also, SDS slightly improved the rewards for events recently. Those two coinciding as well as playoff baseball starting up and double xp being announced, expect a heavier burden on event serves, thus more latency.
-
George Brett, always has been and always will be for me. I don’t know if it’s stance, swing, distance he stands from the plate, or all the above, BUT that’s the one card I have all the confidence in the world with when going to the plate. It could be bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, GOAT difficulty, John Don on the mound, tying runner on second, and I JUST know I’m going to get a hit.
-
What are your guys thoughts on a salary cap for DD? Lets say you get 100 points to build a team, and for instance the new John Don would cost 25 points, milestone Chipper 15 points, HOF Billy Wagner 9 points, Finest Jimmy Rollins 18 points, and so on…
It’s always insane to me that SDS releases all these cards and 99.99% of them just end up being collection fodder. I would love to see/use more variety on Ranked.
-
@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL Agreed. I’m a HUGE Chipper fan. He was my favorite player growing up, and all his cards in this game have mashed! With that said, if it’s my last at bat and need to get on base to win the game, I’m using Chase over Chipper currently (and I have the 99 Chipper).
