I’ve always just played RTTS, never really touch any other mode for the most part. Think I played franchise mode once in The Show ‘19 for a single season. But that was the extent of it really. RTTS has always been my favourite mode. Anyway, I really appreciate your feedback. Much appreciated.

I’m not whining at all man. And why you had to be so disrespectful about my question wasn’t warranted. I simply asked if anyone knew if this year’s game had as many issues as last year’s. And I’m sure I’m not the one who thought this as well. Seen many people posted more negative comments than I. I’ve in no way bashed the game, so labelling me as no true fan is further then the truth.
I agree with every new game there’s bugs and glitches, I get lt. But when I’ve read that some can’t even play their second season for whatever unknown reason has me a bit concerned. New games aren’t cheap, and as consumers we have every right to know the ins and the outs about every game before we buy. So again, all I wanted to know was is if I should wait a bit before buying this year’s game till some of the bugs were ironed out. Or is what I’m reading not as bad as I’ve read..?

I’ve always bought the MLB The Show series since it pretty much came out. I however skipped a year and didn’t buy the ‘20 version. So decided to buy The Show ‘21 last year but it was so riddled with bugs, equipment not functioning correctly, and a screwed up archetype system in RTTS that I told myself I’d never buy MLB The Show again till 3-4 months down the road incase it had similar issues as last year.
But lately I’ve been wanting to play again and have been contemplated getting The Show ‘22. But I’m undecided as I’ve been keeping tabs on on this Forum every two days or so to see what issues are popping up. And if I’m being totally bourse, I don’t like a lot of what I’m reading. Now is this year’s game as bad as last “21 in terms of bugs, glitches, etc, to the point that I should maybe wait a bit to see if they iron out these issues..? Or is buying the game right now worth it..? I’ve been playing MLB The Show ‘19 the past 5-6 days since the actual MLB season started up. But I couldn’t bother touching ‘21 as it was bug ridden. Anyhow, I appreciate any insight you guys can offer.

I think the longest contract I’ve ever signed for was for 4 years. I tend not to sign long term deals to avoid that kind of scenario. Or if the team decide to trade away a lot of our top players then the team goes down hill. Ever since I played this game I typically sign 1-2 year deals till I’m eligible for free agency. I’ve always made my contract so it expires on the 6th year. This way I can gauge wether or not how the team is doing before I commit to a slightly longer contract or if I want to stay with them.
Nevertheless the trade logic as you’ve mentioned has been screwed up as long as I can remember. Sure I could lower the trade frequency slider within the settings, but that would only slow the frequency of the trades not the type of stupid trades they do. I mentioned in my previous post that my team traded Altuve and Correa. Well today I realized I haven’t seen Gurriel either. But I I didn’t look to see where he had gone to. But it’s looking like we parted ways with 3 of our best players in one year. Hard to understand the stupid logic in that one.

I just got booted with a notification saying server maintenance. Be nice if there was some kind of warning in advance so it doesn’t screw up my progression.

Just noticed another patch was added this morning. So far we’ve had a bunch up patch updates but no fix to the dang bugged equipment appearance issue. I was honestly hoping this would of been addressed in patch 1.07/1.007. But apparently not.

My pet peeve this year is I find the pitcher is constantly doing slides steps instead of his regular delivery. No matter if I take a normal lead or a one step lead. It’s hard to time correctly cause the pitcher is constantly doing slides steps almost every pitch. In previous versions the pitcher would do this until he had a 2 ball count then do his normal delivery to avoid having control issues. So I would typically steal bags in 2 ball courts to better my chances at successfully stealing bases. But for some odd reason, this year it seems like it makes no difference what count the pitcher is in. It’s constant slide step after slide step, or pick off attempts. I can live with multiple pick off attempts, but the constant slide steps are infuriating. You would never see a pitcher in a real MLB game do so many slide steps. This is what is killing my stealing game this year. Under normal pitching deliveries I usually have a pretty good steal rate. Anyone else notice the constant slide steps..?

Well I was drafted by Houston, played my first season in AA/AAA. Then the following season I played about half a month then got called up. When I looked at our lineup card I noticed Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa weren’t on it. So I checked the injured list and they weren’t there either. Did some digging around and Altuve is on Cleveland and Correa is on the Royals. Like wth..!! Two of our best players were traded after the one year. Like in what reality would these types of trades ever happen. I swear the AI is getting stupider every year. Especially when you get peanuts in return for top notch players.

A endless battle that’ll hopefully be addressed in a future update. I have the same issue every time I go into my load out to check my progression or to check something. My settings like revert back to default. Compression sleeve on the wrong arm, one batting glove instead of two, etc. It’s been a issue from the get go that I hope will resolved in the next update.

Yup, I notice that today. I originally laughed and thought it was funny. Then thought to myself that this is probably a new bug. Haven’t seen it happen again mind you.

Yup, totally agree with you there.

@deadshot-rb_xbl said in Found a workaround for adding pitches:
So I’ve been GRINDING in RTTS. Have a diamond slugger right now. But when I am a pitcher, my guy only had 3 pitches. Couldn’t ever add additional pitches, only replace. BUT!!!! I found a way to get the pitches you want.
I started a new RTTS file and made him ONLY a pitcher! That’s the key! When this happened, my very first bullpen training had “add pitch” option available. I added 2 pitches so that my guy had a 5 pitch arsenal.
Once I learned those pitches, I loaded back into my diamond slugger and BOOM, my guy has the 5 pitches that I selected from my brand new RTTS file.Hope this helps!!!!!!
I did this very thing when I kept grinding with my two-way player and I couldn’t add a pitch whatsoever. Once I created my pitcher career I was able to add a 4th and 5th pitch within the first two or three bullpen sessions. Then I continued my two-way player career and all 5 pitches were in my arsenal.
-
I couldn’t add a pitch a 4th or 5th pitch no matter what I tried on my 2-way LF/SP. I got frustrated so I figured I’d start another RTTS career solely as a pitcher. Now I don’t know if your a 2-way player or just a pitcher, but try creating another RTTS career and make sure it’s a separate save which it should be. Play how ever many games it takes to get a training session. On my first training session I was as able to replace one of my current 3 pitches and add a 4th. Next training session I was able to replace one of my 4 pitches and had a option to add a 5th. Do this till you get the pitches you want then delete that game save. Open your previous saved RTTS career and all 5 pitches should be in your arsenal. That’s what worked for me. No harm in trying.

Yeah the same thing just just happened to me. Can’t connect to the show online, “Servers Down For Maintenance”. I wasn’t impressed. What happened to the good ‘ol days of the show being offline. This is absolutely absurd.

Oh the gear is just brutal. I was going to purchase the diamond tier Adidas shoes for the speed and steeling perks. But then I remembered that there wasn’t really any point since the gear doesn’t apply itself in game. So essentially your equipment boosts do absolutely nothing and now stubs are also kinda useless. So basically all I’ve been doing is racking up stubs with nowhere to use them. As for the appearance, don’t get me started on that. Still annoys me that I frequently have to fix my appearance every time I go to check my progression. Was hoping SDS would of sent out another patch sometime soon. But it’s not looking to promising. Be nice at least if they gave us some kind of update.

Appearance constantly changing still, load outs still not tracking progression, no 4th pitch 3 years in, I'm was so excited for the show to be on xbox but this feels like I paid 80 dollars to be a beta tester
Delete your RTTS save and start over. Might not want to hear it, but since I did it I have not had a single issue. XP works, progress for archetypes work (I'm working on 4 of them at the same time), appearances are fine, I have 5 pitches and still in first month of AA ball, everything works.
My appearance still changes whenever I go to my loadout screen. As for my for my pitcher he’s still struck on 3 pitches. And I started a new RTTS career once the 3rd patch launched thinking it would clear any bugs or little kinks in the system. But I still have yet to add a 4th or 5th pitch which is kinda maddening.

@moosealbany_psn said in Got a 4th pitch:
I have a fairly new pitcher in AA and in the training options in the Bullpen section, I can add a fourth pitch. I haven't yet because this particular team/trainer doesn't teach the 2SFB. But I can add a fourth there - do you not have that?
No I have not. And I’ve had numerous training days and the first thing I check is the bullpen. But I always get the option to change my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pitch. The options right after that have been stamina, hits/9, BB/9, Hr/9. etc. Never the option to add a pitch. And I had restarted my RTTS career after the 3rd patch just to be certain everything they did would be applied in game. So far no dice. Where others have been able to add a pitch I have not. Maybe I just need to play some more, who knows.
-
In AA, AAA, or the majors..? I’m a 2-way player and pitch occasionally. Though it never asks me if I want to add a 4th or 5th pitch. Just replace one of my first three. Kinda getting irritated I never get the option to add or get offered to add one. I’m currently in AAA.
-
I was under the assumption that you could based on what a few other people claiming to have added a 4th or 5th pitch. Then again I don’t know anymore with this game. It’s just so fundamentally screwed up.
