yeah screw SDS for giving us free good diamonds we can grind for and are a part of our favorite teams farm system that eventually will be a part of the teams future.
If they were actual top prospects of every team and rated a little more properly based on the cards we have either worked hard to get or spend a lot on, not be rendered useless then sure.. but most of these are not top prospects at all and are better than very expensive cards
Who cares? Its a video game and they are free to acquire. Its April. This years game is a no money spent dream for team building.
Lots of people care.. everyone knows it's a video game... Some have better expectations on their experience.. some care about accurate content. And some love baseball and want an accurate representation of their favorite sport...

Nick Madrigal should never be “predicted” to be a 95. Kevin Smith will never be close to a 90. Check back in 4-5 years and I guarantee you almost none of these Future Stars will be even close to the overall that SDS has given them.
3 years ago, SDS had Alex Bregman topping out at a high gold.

I don't know the big fuss over this. Everyone was sick of playing the same exact team every game, now they give options of future stars cards and everyone hates it because its unrealistic.
You can't have it both ways.
And then next month, there will be a bunch more cards and people will move on. It sucks that people can’t go outside. Some of these mouth breathers drastically need the fresh air.

It’s always better to underpredict than to overpredict.
Kinda hard to predict who’s going to cheat though.

I don’t want to say I’m surprised because I’m not but I can’t believe people are still crying about some cards stats in the most unrealistic game mode in sports games.

At least the guys from the 1920’s earned their ratings
So everyone's Create A Player on their DD squad earned their MLB ratings?
To be fair, a lot of us hate CAPs too. I've never made one.
In theory they are an amazing idea. Someone can make a version of themselves to play alongside all time greats. They can create legends that arent represented. They can create a better version of modern players that may be their favorite player.
As it is, people just use them to find the most glitchy way of making players, and attach some stupid/immature/hilarious/political/inside joke/character name.
I had a pretty realistic looking Derek Jeter CAP that I played at short for a little while last year. I got all the specs from a YouTube video and it came out really good. When I got another SS I wanted to try, I put my CAP at catcher but it was weird having Jeter back there. I ended up switching him to something generic. It’s a shame they don’t have different name / appearance slots for each position.

It all boils down to a battle of groups here. One side looks at attributes and animations, with the names and appearances being largely irrelevant. The other looks at the same attributes, animations, names and appearances as an actual representation of said player.
If SDS wanted to, they could save money by not buying any rights to former players and instead create whatever fabricated individual characters they wanted. It seems that one group would be more than happy with that, while the other group would hate it.

Claiming people are crying because they don’t agree with your viewpoint is the “perfect/perfect” fly out of insults. You may think that you crushed it, but it’s going nowhere.
-
If they weren’t overpowered nobody would use them and everyone would say the update was trash.

It's more about a group of people playing a fantasy game mode (DD) complaining about realism while running out Mantle, Reggie and Tatis together.

Did the fantasy foosball hurt your feelings?
When they started giving people attributes over 99, we entered level 50 of dreamy land.
Strap yourselves in and enjoy the nonsense, because things are going to get even more fun when the Switch players arrive next year.
We are all gonna be fielding starting lineups of Peach, Toad, Samus, Link, Pikachu, King K. Rule, Isabelle, Kirby and Simon Belmont.
I’d rather just have mike trout in smash.

Or they could’ve released 90-93 flashbacks instead of FS and majority would be much more happy. Those 90-93s would be very viable and keep the other cards we have viable.

There is a significant difference between only wanting players who actually played together on the same baseball field, and wanting Micky Mantle, Reggie Jackson, and Fernando Tatis’s abilities accurately portrayed in their attributes. Should Adam Dunn have 125 vision in the game even though he was a strike out king in real life since we’re throwing realism out the door?
If you’re going to collect cards based on a player, it would be nice if the card was based on the player’s abilities or projected abilities. I believe that is the point that is being debated here.

Except when you want Reggie's attributes from 1973, Mantle's stats from 1956 and Tatis' stats from 2019 all on the same field at the same time.
That's pure fantasy foosball and you get what you ask for.

That’s what DD is. If you’re not capable of seeing a difference from what was described to what we are getting with FS, then I don’t really know what to say.

I do see the difference, but that difference is meaningless in DD as you have already opened the fantasy foosball Pandora's box.
If I can field a team of legends who never played together, all with attributes based off their prime seasons (no matter how baseball has changed over those years), then why should I care if some prospects get juiced cards on "what they could do"?
-
If only people cared as much about the gameplay as they do about some cards that will be irrelevant in 2 months. We would probably have a good game by now

Well I think the issue is it didn’t used to be like that. Obviously it still had a fantasy aspect as any team building game like this does, but before immortals every card was based off real statistics. I think a lot of people miss that, myself included. But I also expected this to happen, especially after last year. And looking at other modes like Madden Ultimate Team it’s even more ridiculous. They basically give everyone a 99 by the end of the year.

You do realise we’re in April? I’m hoping we’re seeing the start of a coherent content drop, like ‘17. Early in the year we got Rookies, then Breakouts, followed by All Stars, Veterans and finally Postseason and Hardware. While the FOTF cards are an outlier to an extent, they’re low diamonds 86-89. So, if we start with prospects and future stars now, before moving chronologically forward to the other groups, with the majority of the Prime and SS cards being 99 overalls and not released until later in the year - AKA end game cards at the end of the game - it’s absolutely not a problem. Everyone is complaining they’re making the LS cards irrelevant, but outside of collections, they’re irrelevant every year.
I’m not a fan of cards for guys I’ve never heard of, but I’m a huge fan of keeping the game fresh with line up diversity by way of new content, provided it’s useable for H2H and not just filler [censored] like the platoon hitters and golds we’ve seen in the past, so I’m not going to hate on the content before it’s even released. In a few months these cards will be old news and everyone will be complaining that Aubrey Huff or whoever didn’t deserve a SS card.
