Up and in Fastball

Let’s be real, the FB this year is a little cheesy. Half the started throw 100 MOH fbs

If you result to the high and in fastball everytime you get into a jam.... I have no respect for you, that’s not how baseball is meant to be played
I don't get into jams. I throw non-stop perfect releases down the middle of the plate which usually results in a HR. No jam there. I have a daughter that could hit against me.
I can't remember having an era north of 3.3 in RS. It is well above 4 and would be way worse if I actually played the game more. I spend more time watching TV.

@mrwonderful95 it might be cheesy on the developer side with the mph but not the player side. The fastball is thrown over 50% of the time. It will also be your most consistent pitch called for a strike. What’s cheesy is someone throwing off speed 70% of the time IMO.
Are you saying you would like to see less FBs? I’m confused. Do you know how hard it is to throw an off speed pitch (besides change) for a strike?

Well off speed is only effective if the pitcher throws a FB that has considerable speed vs the off speed therefore making the off spread much more effective

Alexa, how do I delete a post? I’m wrong on this one y’all lmao, just had a guy spamming it last game with Ohtani and was just frustrated with it cause I was just not able to do anything with it. Y’all are right though, I’m outta pocket on this one
That's actually a very mature response in the end, did not expect that. Kudos to you.
I know when I’m wrong, just got a little caught up in the moment that’s all, you guys made me realize I was wrong though. Baseball is all about exploiting weaknesses lmao. Just lost my mind for a min
“Baseball is all about exploiting weakness” I actually did lol, that was a hilarious thing to say my man
-
Yes that frustrated me back in '17 until "MLB Show Tips" showed me how to counter it:
- Put your PCI High-in pre-pitch.
- Place your left thumb UNDER the left analog stick and leave it there.
- Time the high-in fastball and you got any easy line-drive or homerun....
- Then your opponent will be forced to mix up his pitches and prove himself.
- Don't hesitate to leave it up there again if he starts spamming that again.
-
Don’t feel bad man. Ohtani had a no hitter going into the 9th on me.

Sorry dude. If I notice you can't hit it, I'm gonna spam it until you show me you can. I couldn't care less about you respecting me or not, go practice on it and get better instead of crying about it here lol.
better hope that fastball is a primary pitch though, SDS took away our ability to attack our opponents weakness at the plate last year with the secondary pitch spam punishment.

I mean that is EXACTLY how baseball is played and has been for 100+ years. Pitcher recognizes a hole in you swing and attacks it.
You need to fix the hole in your swing.
Tom Selleck got sent to Japan because of a hole in his swing.
Sorry but baseball does not care for your everyone gets a trophy coddling... "Baseball is a red-blooded sport for red-blooded men. It's no pink tea, and mollycoddles had better stay out. It's a struggle for supremacy, a survival of the fittest." -Ty Cobb

It’s alright everyone trotting out “git gud” and that’s how baseball works, pitchers exploit batters weaknesses blah blah.
I’m just going to point out that the 98mph fastball you saw in AAA or spring training will still be a 98mph fastball in MLB. At no time will the GM or commissioner of baseball come along and suddenly decide that even though you’ve been swinging at 98mph fastballs successfully on your way to the majors, you suddenly have a lot less time to react to that exact same pitch that you’ve successfully reacted to previously. That’s how it works in the game though. Similarly, when Scherzer took the mound for the Nats in the WS, they didn’t win because the opponents suddenly had a hundred milliseconds taken away from the time they had to react, just because “it’s the WS so it should be harder now”.So maybe just stop with the BS comparisons to real life baseball, because it’s apples to oranges.

Ok fine. Crank up the pitch speeds on lower levels.
They tune the speeds down super slow in lower levels, ok let's not do that anymore.

Agreed. I have zero issue with the pitch speeds this year, but the swing timing windows are horrific. Pitches are literally teleporting and warping around and with such a narrow swing timing window, playing in an MLB stadium away or with slight lag, some strikes are unhittable. When I said standardise pitch speeds across all divisions, I certainly wasn’t proposing we all default to veteran speeds.

By the looks of the replies, it appears nobody cares about you having respect for them OP ️

Pitch to the opponents weakness is the recipe to sucesss irl. Not sure what else to say
