How could they have screwed up defense this bad

How could they have possibly screwed up defense this bad? I could see if fielders screwing up fly [censored] has been an ongoing problem year after year that they just couldn’t figure out but how is this just popping up this year after never really having been a problem before?
I assume it’s a pretty complex problem since it’s not being fixed.

Players locking under flyballs was never an issue in previous releases

It was a problem last year on foul lines when the game game out. But they took it to a new level this year with routine fly [censored] and at the walls. Let’s not forget when your players(infield and outfield) at times when they miss a ball they do 3 or 4 circles around the ball before grabbing it

I've pretty much already stopped playing. Not feeling well lately hasnt helped. But ever since 1.04 I just... What's the point. Game was broken right then and there. I keep looking on here from time to time to see if it's getting any better.
